Music groups you like but are not suppose to like.

I was thinking that there are still ignorant people out in the world that think that if you're black your musical taste are restricted to R & B, Rap/Hip-Hop and Gospel. However, I know that "we" have eclectic taste. So here's the time to shout out those artist you love that "we" are not suppose to like. I'll start.

1. U2
2. ColdPlay
3. Pink Floyd
4. Rascal Flatts
5. Dixie Chicks
6. Sting/Police
7. Tears for Fears and all the New Wave acts from the 80's
8. Michael Buble
9. Norah Jones
10.Boy George and Culture Club
11.Radiohead
12.Zero 7
13.Phil Collins/Genesis
14. No Doubt

This is just a starter list for me. I'm sure others will list ones I forgot.

I love No Doubt!! I'd like to add Maroon 5. Although they haven't had anything new in a minute. I have others but can't think of the group names.

tld221 03-06-2007 11:56 PM

im insulted because no one added DMB to this list...

me and my friend have something called the ratio... where we size up our iPod every few months and see if we're in balance of "white" and "black" music. i know its mad ridiculous, but we'll be like "ok, you can have britney spears in there but you have to have that new ludacris to balance the ratio."

again, ridiculous, but we amaze each other with our selections. i've got a LOT of DMB and a few other rock songs (Adema, AC/DC, Nickelback, Korn, Prodigy, Nirvana). ive got some showtunes too (Aida, Spamalot, Rent) and pop (i might have every BSB album cause i used to be a big fan).

LitAKAtor: I LOVE Joss Stone - she gets serious airtime on my iPod.
