Rome
I love this show. When I originally saw the previews back in 2004, I wasn't so sure about it. But I watched it anyway and I am so glad that I did. I love this show. The first season was good and this season is turning out great. I love what's gone on in the way of character development for Octavian. I wished that we wouldn't have come in so close to the end of Caesar's life, but I think that the other characters are getting more of a chance to shine now. Every episode makes me want to read up on Ancient Rome.
Who else is watching?:D |
I scream at the end of every show... that's how good it is... IF only they showed next week's episode on demand like the do Def poetry and the wire, i'd be good...
|
I'm waiting for the part where Marc Anthony leaves Atia for Cleopatra and when Octavian pursues them! haha!!!! I love the plot twists... it's a shame about Vorenus's children... that man needs SERIOUS anger management classes

Sometimes this show is a little hard to watch, so I watch it OnDemand. That way I can fast forward. |

I love this show. Every week I say that I am not going to watch and wait until the end of the season and watch them all. Poor Brutus. hehhehehehe. He cant catch a break for anything. Everything he plans, fails. Marc Antony and Octavius are going to gang up and kick his rear. I am sometimes distracted by how much he favors Joel Osteen. HBO On demand have all these shorts that give you background on the making of ROME. One short talked about the historical authenticity. That was pretty interesting. |
Googled
I was somewhat familiar with the history behind it but only on characters (people) like Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony and Brutus. So yesterday, while avoiding work, I googled and found some more detailed info on Octavian and Atia. Apparently, history has her recorded as a much more gentle, compassionate mother. The rest of the stuff seems pretty right on point. I can't wait until....nevermind. I won't spoil it. I'm interested to see how the writers will handle some of the twists and turns that should be coming.

HBO needs to handle all of their on demand shows the same. I cant see the previous and next week preview when I watch on demand. At least Brutus went out like a man. What really trips me out is that when commanders decide to take a stand and fight. Brutus was like ' this is as good a place to die as any'. I'd bet those soldiers probably felt differently. |
I just started watching the first 2 episodes and I'm hooked. I need to get some more of the DVDs.

I love Rome. I love Atia. She is such a slut. If you can still find it in a rental store try and get the old BBC series I Claudius.

Absolutely FAbulous
One of the best HBO shows yet!
I just loved how the kids made a paper hat with Cicero's note What about Titus Pullo? His job with Cicero was 1st class. |

He's a loyal friend. He and Verenus LUCKY!. Whenev everyone else is suffering...they are propering. How lucky is it that Verenus his Marc Antony's right hand and Pullo is down with Octavian- they the two leaders band together. Can anyone tell me what were the previews for the upcoming episode were? |
I. LOVE. THIS. SHOW
Pullo's wife "I'm preglant" LOL.... |

That was a new episode?!?!?!?>?!?!>?!>?

Whorebiscuit is a POW. I'll bet that she is going to cause Pullo's wife to miscarry, then pass her baby off as his. I wonder if that is Vorenus' baby.
|
whha?! she's preggers? lawd...
|
Well I thought so. She just may have been rubbing her belly for effect at the herb store.
|
Wow. I love this show. Vorenus didnt stay to help Pullo keep it together. Octavian is da man. He isnt a young punk anymore. Marc Antony can say what he wants but Octavian will runs the show.
|
When Pullo dumped the whorebiscuit into the pond, I was like  That dude didn't even think twice about it. Turned around and went back to his life

What does Cleo have?
Love this show!! Questions - Cleopatra looks real trappy to me! Anybody else feel that way? What does she possess that she gets all the men to kill/change for her? Why is she so light compared to the men of Egypt?

I really want to own the DVDs but HBO makes them so expensive :( |
If the season premire for next season doesnt contain something stating that Verenus is alive, I will not watch Rome anymore.
I just read that this is the last of rome |

From HBO: "Don't miss this series finale, Episode 22: De Patre Vostro (About Your Father) this Sunday at 9pm ET. Plus, tune-in this Friday starting at 8pm for an encore presentation of the last three episodes of Rome." |
I wish it were continuing, apparently it's incredibly expensive though. But so worth it. I wonder if it was more HBO and their ratings or the BBC and its funding...
|
Even though Rome is gone and it was a very excellent show. Cable tv are sure not to let us down with excellent series for exmaple the upcoming show The Tudors. I believe this show will become the next cable fan fave.

ROME
I loved this entire series from start to finish, yes it was gory and bloody and Sex was pretty much a part of the norm then. Atia had me dying from start to finish, she always got her way even when she didn't, i was on my toes the episode that boy poisoned her soup and her cook tasted it, broke out into a sweat that night and i loved the end when she walked ahead of octavians wife that was funny as hell. i will be buying this series as a xmas gift for the hubby
