Anyone watching? I'm hooked already! Their first challenge was to design a room for an unknown client and they were only given a few items (that were really strange--a dragonfly, a doll head, a black & white painting, and a green lamp thing) to gain inspiration--they weren't even told the sex. Here are the designs from the first episode

I forgot to watch last week. I'll check it out this Wednesday when it comes back on.
I am loving those designs! |
What channel?
|
Bravo, same as Top Chef

It was...aight. I didn't really love most of the rooms- they seemed overdone or fussy. I actually did like the winning room- I thought it was adorable in its concept and I want a meditation room like that (mins the big yellow pepper, lol).
I hated that Asian-themed room. The daybed was nice, but everything else was too matchy and fussy. And it did seem like the front room of a restaurant, lol. |
The premiere ep comes on in 9 minutes so I can see both eps back to back.
|
Oh man, I would love to do a show like that.
|
Never mind. I figured it out. :)

  John is HIV Positive!   I'm shocked at the way he chose to reveal it.

I watched it and I love it. I didn't like the Asian themed room, but I don't agree that the team they sent home should have left. The two guys that were fighting like children - who the judges all agreed created a nice room but it didn't have anything to do with the items presented at the beginning of the challenge- should have gone home.

John and Michael both had sucky designs on the first 2 eps, separately and collectively. I love this show! My favorite room last night was the pirate room and the Hollywood themed room with the pink, black and white. |

I thought last night's episode was a biiig improvement- more talk about the design and creative process, less catty drama. I wnat Goil's room, just with a king sized bed, lol.

TWOP recaps the show! YAY!:D

I've gone a couple of weeks not watching t.v. so I'm just getting around to seeing the episode from last week.
http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...rge_andrea.jpg This room looked better on camera but here, it looks full of mess. I thought it was pretty good to say that the stuff came from a garage sale. http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...rge_carisa.jpg the winning room. I wouldn't have picked it but I love the pillows. the client felt it lacked storage http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...large_erik.jpg if it weren't for the freaky art, this would've been a very good room http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...ge_felicia.jpg the losing room. i hoped she learned that less is more. http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...large_goil.jpg i really like this kid, goil. i think his designs are so out-the-box. although innovative, the bed was a fool--a recessed bed? not really functional. http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...large_matt.jpg this was my pick for winning room. i think he really got the client and i think the room looks fabulous http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...ge_michael.jpg the judges had a problem with the color scheme but i don't think it's too bad. i do, however, think that it is disjointed. he seems to have no clue about furniture placement. and wth is up with the partridges?? http://www.bravotv.com/_content/topd...large_ryan.jpg total custer-fluck... why wasn't this kid sent home??? who would want to live in a black room?? with crushed glass in the paint??? and that divider is pure foolishness! i'm thinking Goil and Matt in the end |

The room above? I could have dealt with the black because of the other colors but that wooden "I'm on acid and crack" divider? SUCKED. I didn't care for the winning room as much either but considering that they all used garage sales to supply the furnishings, they all did well minus Grandma's quilt room. The wallpaper was funky but that quilt cancelled it out threefold. I always love Goil's work. I liked how he had those chairs that could go almost anywhere in that room. |
