Just read in the newest people magazine with Tyra on the cover that cycle 8 begins February 28th.

I searched the net but I couldn't find anything listing the cycle 8 contestants. CW doesn't have ANTM listed as a "televised" show right now.

Either way I'm excited!!!!!

I am excited too. VH1 is airing Australia's Next Top Model in March. It is going to be a top model overload!

Pics were supposed to come out this past week, but I'm not going digging to find out (there not anywhere obvious yet). The trip will be to Sydney though. :)

Word on the street is a lot of the girls are "larger" models this cycle.

Flame away, but Tyra looks like shit these days. If you are going to host a modeling competition, keep yourself in somewhat of a model-shape. Her face even looks strange in every pic I've seen of her lately.

She weighs around 160lbs now she said last week. At 5'11" thats more than fine. She said it best too -- models have to be skinny. She's not a model anymore.

She's by no means is fat and I think it's awful she's being slammed for gaining weight. So she may have some bad pictures out there, but I daresay everyone has them. I think she deserves a break. She's trying to help young women on her talk-show and give girls the opportunity of a lifetime with ANTM.

160 at 5'11 is fine. But she weighs more than 160....

It's so pathetic that people are more interested in how much she weighs instead of what she is trying to do. :rolleyes:

I'd much rather see her model than the anorexic or bulimic ones now. (And let's face it when the size 0 dress is falling off the model and see her ribcage and bones jut out, something is wrong). IMPO. Which I'm sure I'll get flamed for, but whatever.

She's modeling in ANTM whether she wants to admit it or not. I doubt many people who aren't modeling strike a pose like that in a bathing suit on a beach with a photographer. She's still on TV and should keep herself up. Let's face it -- most people prefer a smaller Tyra.

I am not saying she's horrendously fat. I am saying that she doesn't look good with that much weight on her. She is not 160. Look at that picture above. Her thighs and belly tell the real story. I am saying that she doesn't look good these days. She doesn't look healthy.

And, spare me the, "She's trying to be a good role model crap." Someone who is comfortable at their weight doesn't make such a big deal about some pics. They don't come on their show wearing the same bathing suit as in the "bad pic." That seems like her trying to convince everyone that she's comfortable with her new weight.

No, she's not a runway model anymore. But, neither are Janice, Cindy, Christie, Christy Turlington, etc. They maintain a healthy weight because they realize they will always be in the spotlight.

If you have made millions off of your body, don't be shocked when people criticize they way you look. It doesn't stop suddenly just because you "retire."

Unless you're her doctor, or you have x-ray vision, you can't make a legitimate claim about her health. I weigh WAY more than 160, and I do boot camps. For fun.

I can easily believe she is 160. I mean, just comparing her weight and height to that of people I know, it's really not far-fetched.

Yes. I don't give a rat's ass about her weight, but for reals, she needs more flattering clothes AND to lay off the terrifying weave and drag-queen makeup. Why does she always want to stuff herself into some tight strapless crap that makes her look like a sausage? I don't get it.

I think Tyra's singlehandedly responsible for the death of RuPaul's career. The world needs more drag queens! :D

OTW: Remind me who Tatiana is again? I didn't religiously start watching the show until cycle 4. I caught only bits of cycle 3 (but when Amanda was booted I stopped watching because I WAS NOT a fan of Eva). I recognize the name.

I'm actually really curious as to what that's a list for now since it's all over the internet.

I thought she did fairly well in Cycle 4 -- she was the 8th girl eliminated.

Question who is Jaslene? I remember from the yahoo videa Tyra saying her name but she isn't on the list you got or the list from Yahoo. Who is she? LOL.

My personal favorite is Diana. I REALLY want a plus size model to win at some point!!!!!!!! Because let's face it in the "modeling" world where most models are 0-2-4, probably 75% if not higher, of women would be considered "plus size" because they aren't that small.

I wear between a 8-10. I am definately no size 0. LOL.

And I'm SO mad! I was on wikipedia and I saw who won. So do NOT go there unless you want to see who wins. I'm not saying I'm mad at the winner, but half the fun is watching week to week and not knowing. :(

I can't believe Wikipedia already has it posted. Seriously, that means someone from CW leaked the news because if I were Tyra I'd be pissed that people could know who the winner is before the show even airs.

As seen on E! News tonight, at least two guys from Phi Beta Sigma are in the first episode (well whenever they have the final set of girls one) and Tyra's wearing a shirt that says "Sigma" on it and all the girls are in cammo pants.

V - there was an episode of Trading Spouses with a girl from Pittsburgh who looked a lot like the girl with the tattoos - PLUS she does roller derby. She's married though (and her husband is way hot).

I really wanted can I borrow your weave girl and Kathleen to stick around, but oh well. I'm already over Renee (I keep forgetting her name) and Sarah reminds me of that know it all chick in the 1st season that was down to the final 2 w/ Adrienne.

JAEL. Absolutely love love love her. I was surprised to hear Tyra say that she's half Black. Totally can't tell.

Everytime I see Renee I just can't help but think Maui Fever reject. She's "that type." While I do like that she's outspoken, we should all play a drinking game and take a shot everytime she makes mention of her son. A very insensitive thing to say, I know -- but you know I don't care.

I'm ready to see someone bust a can of whoopass on Natasha the Russian.

Sarah annoys me already. "I'm a photographer" is just as bad as "I'm a substitute teacher and cheerleading coach."

Was very pleased to see Kathleen go. I don't think I could have put up with more weeks of that voice.

Anybody else think that this season will be "meh"? Any guesses as to where they'll go for their international segment this time around?

I think the international part is in Australia, isn't it? Because I think that's where the photos of Tyra looking "fat" in that swimsuit were shot.

I'm sad Kathleen got kicked off because she was so entertaining. I mean, it's evil, but I love to watch clueless people.

So far I like Samantha and Jael.. although someone needs to fix Samantha's eyebrows ASAP. :-/

I wasn't too impressed by most of the girls.

On the first day I like: Samantha, Jasleen, Diana, Whitney...and I can't remember if it's Dione or Felicia I like (not the one who can't stop talking...although they both had good pictures). Jael is okay, but only because she's from Michigan.

I'm still really pushing for Diana or Whitney. I really want a plus size model to win.

Natasha is stupid. The whole "a lady doesn't fart or burp" thing got me. I just wanted to tell her "honey, that is a fact of life, we have no control over those things, it is a bodily function" :rolleyes:

Renee is a bitch. Plain and simple. She has excuses for everything. Like when Jael won the challenge, her excuse (for her not winning) "oh Jael shops in thrift stores". What does it matter where you shop, obviously she has no "personal style" or it wouldn't have mattered. Renee needs to be gone as far as I'm concerned.

Natasha. I don't know why, but I get the feeling that she's had the same long blonde hair all her life and hasn't had anything different. You'd think that she'd welcome something different, but for some reason I see her getting emotional.

I hope they fix Alabama's tooth like they did for the girls from two seasons ago.

I don't care what they do to anyone else, but they need to either cut Natasha's hair or put deep conditioner on it for like 2 weeks. Holy overprocessed, Batman.

and if they DO cut it...I'm sure she'll be crying because her 40 year old hubby will hate it.

While the lady who had all the tattoos was gorgeous, I couldn't get past the tattoos. Jael is just UGH!

There are so many snarky comments I could make, but I will wait and see what will happen after the makeovers. Anyone else wish that Kathleen would have made it to the makeover round. What would they have done with her hair??

Cycle 6 is on MTV right now and I'm still totally wishing that Joanie won! But then again, I usually pick the complete opposite from the judges. LOL. Although, I wonder at times what the judges are thinking. :D
