Worst sounds in the world

http://www.int.iol.co.za/index.php?s...9686896751A551

I agree with vomiting being the worst sound. I also hate forks scratching plates, people smacking, and loud thunder.

Unregistered- 01-25-2007 10:25 PM

SHARTS.

valkyrie 01-25-2007 10:45 PM

What is sharts? Is that the sound of fat thighs rubbing together?

Dionysus 01-25-2007 10:50 PM

LOL @ both comments.

Senusret I 01-25-2007 11:06 PM

Sharts = farts when you're going poop?

I love thunder. But then again, I really like lightning. I think it looks so pretty...the way it lights up the whole sky in a bluish or purplish color when there's a storm at night.

valkyrie 01-25-2007 11:12 PM

Ribbit.

No, sharts are when you think you're just going to fart and shit comes out.

NOTE: that has never happened to me personally.

AXO Alum 01-25-2007 11:22 PM

^^^ riiiigggghhhhtttt

LOL :p

that was typed so matter-of-factly. there's an unspoken "duh" in there.

i cant imagine all sharts sounds equal...

my worst-noise: styrofoam rubbing together (like, when you are taking electronics out of its box)

yes, definately the worst sound! **shivering at the thought**

epchick 01-26-2007 03:02 AM

You have not heard the worst sound in the world until you experience living with my roommate.

Picture it...its around 6:30-7 in the morning, and your nice and cozy in your bed. Your still asleep, but all of a sudden you hear a slurping sound. The most annoying slurping sound in the world.

Then you realize it....your roommate has cooked some noodles, and instead of eating them with her chopsticks like normal people do. She decides she wants to bend down over the bowl and suck the noodles up over the edge of the bowl and into her mouth.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! And p.s. saying "shut up" doesn't work!

Stef the Pef 01-26-2007 03:34 AM

I hate hearing people eat. Something about all the smacking and chewing and crunching if they're chewing with their mouth open or something...ewwwww. World's worst sound, IMHO. A puke might edge that out, though. But honestly, I need background noise to drown out chewing when I eat with other people. It's weird, but...true. And gross.

Hey yo! In Japan, it's a toast to the chef when you slurp the noodles and soup! I'm serious! The louder the better!

Juicy Sharts is not a good thing to hear!:o

tunatartare 01-26-2007 05:34 PM

I can't stand beeping sounds or any repetitive sound such as a car alarm or fire alarm going off.

FAB*SpiceySpice 01-26-2007 05:45 PM

I had a roommate my freshman year who started doing meth after we had lived together for a few months. To this day, I still have nightmares about the sound of her grinding her back teeth constantly while she slept. I didn't know what the sound was for awhile, but it would keep me up at night and drive me absolutely insane. Once I actually figured out what the noise was, I got sick to my stomach and had to resort to wearing earplugs every night. I don't know how the girl had any teeth left in her mouth with the way she was grinding, but who knows...they may be all gone by now. :p

agreed.

I did this today by mistake and it made my fingers tingle and I felt funny all day long: I scraped my nail along the top of my car by mistake. *shudders* it's not so much a sound as a feeling.

I'm also intensely disgusted by belly buttons. I refuse to touch mine or anyone else's.

dirty word: moist

Phimuteach 01-26-2007 06:53 PM

A sound that peeves me to no end is the sound of twenty kids saying "aaaaaawwwwww"

Example- Susie B. spills her crayons on the floor and the whole class goes "AAAAAWWWWW". I've banned the sound in classrooms before, it annoys me so much.

LOL this is crazy! i did that once against a blackboard in the middle of student teaching and i had to pause for a second. my students were like WTF!

and yea, one of my co-workers cursed my boss out for using that dirty word, it was great. one of the many reasons why she was subsequently fired, but i remember the next staff training she specifically asked all the newbies if they had any "trigger words." classic.

Ok, I've never known anyone who does meth, so I have no first-hand knowledge of what it does. But, does the meth have anything to do with the teeth-grinding? I don't know if these two statements are as unrelated as they seem, or if teeth-grinding is a side-effect of meth. :o

For me, the worst sound is that mysterious, un-findable rattle in the car. Drives me nuts. You're like, "What's that?", and you seach and search and search and can't figure out what! is! making! that! god-forsaken! NOISE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

PrettyBoy 01-27-2007 06:20 AM

Someone scratching their nails down a chalkboard.
An out of control child crying
A nagging woman (that's the worse):p

Yeah, supposedly it is, part of what leads to "meth mouth". Check this out for more info:

My coworkers who won't STFU. Granted, they are talking to clients, but they have really annoying, loud, voices and I feel like I'm in the middle of one of those ghastly call centers.

smiley21 01-28-2007 04:20 PM

I hate hearing people drink any type of fluids, even if it is water. I hate when I am next to them and I can actually hear the sound of the liquid entering their mouth and going down their throat. It makes me feel ill.

Be thankful you don't work with the farter.

PureGoldF2K1 01-30-2007 12:23 AM

The sound of a broom on wet concrete or black top. They used to do this in my old apartment complex, spray down the parking lots then sweep away the excess water. I can't stand it!

CutiePie2000 01-30-2007 02:25 AM

The sound of someone hocking/horking a loogie is pretty damn gross.

cutiepatootie 01-30-2007 03:02 AM

the cry i hear from my little one when he hurts himself .....sends me into a tail spin!

but most annoying sound is nails on a chalkboard

AGDee 01-30-2007 07:28 AM

For me, it's metal on metal.. like a fork against a sauce pan.

Well, from personal experience, the loud popping noise of your acl and meniscus being torn is pretty disturbing...
