I think you might be thinking about Bug Juice maybe? It aired on the Disney Channel from 1998-2000. I know the first camp was Camp Waziyata and Brett (I think that was his name) was one of the camp leaders. Can't remember where the other season was.
Oh, and btw...I love Donkey Lips. http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/3...keylips2xz.jpg |
I heard an awesome rumor that Salute Your Shorts was coming out on DVD but Amazon says that there's no availability right now... does anyone know if it's been released yet or if -- like the dearly departed My So Called Life, which now goes for $500 on eBay -- it had a limited DVD run and is now out of print?

I loved that show! It ran on Nickelodian in the early 90's. I remember it had Danny Cooksey, the red-haired kid who played Sam on Diff'rent Strokes.

Bug Juice
It doesn't come in a jar Bug juice It comes from who you are Isn't the theme song something like that? I can also sing both Saulte Your Shorts and Hey Dude's theme songs. I loved all the shows and BEGGED my mom to send me to camp. She refused. She was a teacher, and was off all summer, so she saw no reason to send me to sleep away camp. |
Bug Juice yes that's it ! thank you all !!

The guy that played Pinsky is now in Rilo Kiley along with Jenny Lewis, who played Hannah in Troop Beverly Hills.

I remember both shows. I was obsessed with Bug Juice. I even have some episodes on my computer, a random download from somewhere. Their subsequent seasons sucked, but the original rocked. Probably because it was filmed when I was the same age. I always wanted to go to camp but my parents couldn't afford it.
I finally achieved my dream when I became a camp counselor at a girl scout camp. Most stressful and best job ever. It was like getting paid to go to camp. |
AChiOhSnap,
I just wanted to share a quick story about the My So Called Life DVD's...I was lucky enough to find the ENTIRE set in excellent condition at a store called "The Exchange" where you can buy, sell, or trade used DVD's, cd's, video games, etc. When I saw the price on the box, I nearly flipped a lid and ran and got a sales associate pronto. The sticker said $30...I couldn't believe it!! So my advice, go to some stores in your area like that before shelling out the big bucks on ebay!! I'm in the store in my area allllll the time so I will keep my eyes peeled! |

I used to have the BIGGEST crush on Pinsky in like, third and fourth grade. I daresay the Awful Waffle inspired some of the madness at Lazy F back in the day...when it was some other cabin's turn to clean the mess hall. :p |

tld221, Yes, you are correct that there was only one season. By saying the "entire collection" in my post, I meant that it had all five discs of the set present. But thank you for passing on additional information! |

Does anyone remember the reality game show Moolah Beach?? It was on twice...and i sooooooo wanted to be on that show. But yeah.
P.S. I absolutely LOVE Salute your Shorts...my mom and grandmother banned my cousins and I to watch Salute your Shorts back in the summer of 1994 (yes, i still remember when! lol)! lol. We were on the road to San Diego and @ every hotel we stopped at, we HAD to watch the show. After a while my mom and gradma just got tired of us and they let us watch it just so we would all behave! hahahaha. |

And on a side note, Jenny has been in a lot since Troop Beverly Hills....lots of TV guest spots including Golden Girls and Roseanne and she was in Pleasantville and Foxfire. Actually had a really big part in Foxfire, which was like the Craft on steroids. And while Blake was recording The Elected's first album, Jenny was recording with The Postal Service. And even though I'm merely a sponge, I'm starting to sound like a stalker so I'll end this now. |
