A&M
What is good at A&M?
|
Coffee and bagels.
|
I assume you mean Texas A&M.

Dixie Chicken

If you are thinking about gonig there, don't. Texas, TCU, and SMU should be your options if you are wanting to stay within the state. |

But don't join the A&M cult. Unless you have a thing for sheep in the Biblical sense. Then you might be a perfect fit there. But I digress. |
As a member of the Texas A&M 'cult', I deeply crushed by your comments, NOT!!! :p
But, seriously, TAMU is the best quality education you can receive for your buck. Also, our class ring is recognized and respected the world over. When people notice my Aggie ring, I get better service, and once, I got out of a ticket. GIG 'EM!!!!! |
I agree, gig em. In Scott Van Pelt's phrasing, I lost my virginity to Ga Tech, Auburn is my wife, and TAMU is my mistress.

I get out of tickets by telling people who my dad is. ........I kid, I kid. |

Baylor? Baylor is the fallback for kids who coudln't get into A&M or Texas but whose Mommy and Daddy have money. If they dont' have money, they end up at Tech or Texas State. Greek Life in Texas? t.u., SMU, A&M, TCU Tech Education? Rice, t.u.-A&M, SMU Overall College experience? A&M, t.u., Tech. Although I will say that the student body at A&M has become much less special and unique since Bonfire fell in '99. In 20 years those that aren't from A&M families or CTs will be just as ordinary as those hippies down in Austin. Kitso KS 361 |
You have got to be kidding me. Texas A&Ms Greek Life is sub par compared to us, SMU, TCU, and even Tech. KA and some SAEs are the only bastion of frattiness that exists in College Station.
As far as education........if you want your kid to be a dorky applied sciences major.......then send him to Rice. That is the only thing going for it. Business, Law, medicine, or engineering......go to Texas. |

Baylor was a first choice for me. Loved the campus, the history, and the honors program I'm in ('cause I'm a little bit of a nerd and that's how I roll). We're smarter than the aggies and better-looking than everybody else. Never mind the fact that it's a crazy church school that's uptight about everything from drinking to dudes in the dorms. (Hey, we're loosening up...I have visiting hours everyday now! ZXAlum said she only got weekends for dudes!) ...but yeah. No way in hell would I join a cult. I take being in the cult town of Wacko over actually being in a cult any day. Plus the dudes here may be few and far between, but at least the ones who are here prefer women over sheep (sometimes men over women though...sad times for single stef the pef). :p |
Quote:
Sheep bestiality? That's all you got? Yeah, I guess you can go to Baylor, where to blow off steam from their horrendous Athletic programs, baseball players go out killing and skinning cats for fun. Your choice :) Baylor.....we're only in the Big XII cause Ann Richards was Gov. in 96 |
Hahahahaha.
At least we lose with pride. And only 40% of the campus is nutty baptist. A&M is a cult. Period. Write it off as "school spirit" all you want, but to the rest of the world, these fellas look ridonkulous: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...giesqueeze.gif (well, seeing as that's the corps, perhaps the better wording would be "you have a cult and why on earth are you proud of that?!") |
Gig 'em!
Hay Kitso... long time no post! :D |

Helluva win for the Aggies tonight.
|
I wish I had seen the game, but hopefully I will be going to the one here in Austin in a couple of weeks so I can see us kick some longhorn butt. It is weird having a decent basketball team. I personally think our coach is HOTT:D

Kevin Durant will put up 38 against A&M in a 5 point win. Mark My Words.

I hear that aggies can drink a lot, but when I visited my fraternity there, it was easy to out drink them. I'm not sure if that's a good thing for me. School spirit I suppose. They used to have the bonfire, which in my opinion was a waste of wood. I read somewhere that they could build a small subdivision with all of that wood. Build some poor people homes. Just like the rest of Texas, A&M has pretty girls. Quote:
When I travel to Europe and people here my Texas accent, do you know what they do? They put their horns up. Quote:
Whos the pops? I'm sure you don't want to say though, which is fine. The days when we had a representative in the family… Quote:
Baylor has a nice campus, but it's located in a shitty, shitty town. Waco. I hate that we stop there on our way to and from the Texas OU game. That town spawned the Branch Davidians. -- Reason number 1 not to go to Baylor? I remember visiting friends and the chapter of my fraternity there. It was like I had stepped into an Abercrombie and Fitch commercial. I kid you not; everyone there was wearing nothing but Abercrombie and Fitch. Abercrombie and Fitch = not fratty. |
Drinking reputations are never accurate. We heard so much crap from LA people the first time we went to LSU, about how much they could drink, etc...come 3am we were picking up these LSU people off the curb.

Both A&M and Texas are very good schools. I could have gone to Texas (like half of my family did) but I always had the A&M spirit. When I applied Texas A&M and Texas had pretty much the same acceptance criteria (not sure about now) so A&M was not a fall back school. BTW, I know an aggie from across the room just by the ring we wear, no words need to be spoken. |
AC Law is a great player......but he is no Kevin Durant. I'm sorry but he is the most dominant offensive player in the NCAA as far as i'm concerned.

No and No. Thanks for playing though. The Ags played 8 on 5 all night, with Ricky Barnes having been in the refs heads for a couple days with some whiny comments a couple days prior and they still pull it out. Y'all may get us in Austin though, I can only imagine how that's going to be refereed. JJ and AK will probably foul out by halftime. Kitso KS 361 of Durant's pubes that Dickie V is going to have to clean off his face after fellating him the entire game. |
You won by 20......shut up about the refs. Just about eveyone of the fouls called on yall was legit. Believe it or not, that crap yall do on screens and 40 feet away from the basket really are fouls. You sound like the tipical whiny bitch Aggie.
Dick Vitale always blows the best player in every game he calls. Not sure if you noticed.....but Kevin Durant is easily one of the top players to come into the NCAA in recent memory. Its no secret that he is getting player of the year. |
Quote:
What's shady about the whole thing is that your boy Barnes KNEW it was going to be a more physical game than he wanted and started petitioning to the refs through the papers. Like it or not, for a coach to do that, is bush league. Just as bush league as him trying to get on us for our Bus Driver yell after the game. Sorry Ricky, Ags have been doing that yell since before you were born, its nothing personal. Wasn't really complaining about the Vitale thing, I'm used to it. Just was making an observation. Oh yeah, 12-7 100-82 That is all. Kitso KS 361 |
Don't mind him Kitso, he gets angry when ut loses especially to the ags.
|
No, I generally don't get mad when we lose to the Aggies. Doesn't happen that often. I just love how aggies find someway to bitch about something being not fair......even in a win.
Oh yeah: 73-35-5 ( I would milk that win in football for all its worth.......because it doesn't happen very often.) |

Here. To help you to continue to live in the past. Kitso KS 361 |
Hi pot, I'm kettle. Live in the past?? You brought up a football game that was played nearly three months ago. But hey, i'm sure Aggie Nation is still basking in the win.....I would be too if I hadn't beaten someone since 1999.

Standard Scoreboard rules dictate that Scoreboard in any sport can be called until the following time the teams compete in said sport. Seeing as how the most recent time the Fighting Texas Aggies and the longhorns competed in football we ended up the winner, calling scoreboard isn't considered living in the past. So, you can feel free to relish in the Scoreboard you have on us in Women's BB, Swimming and Diving, XC and the like. Go ahead. Kitso KS 361 days a year the only thing that matters is 12-7. |
Quote:
Durant is sick though; I can't remember a more dominating college player in my lifetime, and I've been following college basketball pretty closely for as long as I can remember. |
Quote:
........ha, i'm sorry, but I can actually hear a nerdy, dork A&M cult member explaining this to someone. |
Quote:
Kitso KS 361 high-fives for those swimming and diving titles though man! |
Remind me of when A&M athletics did anything significant? Oh yeah, girls softball won some national championships in the 1980s. Football......try 1939.
Face it......your athletics programs couldn't hold our jocks. |

Definition of something significant? Doing something that the vaunted Longhorn athletic department hasn't done? I'd say the last time was Saturday, when we became the first and only team from the Big XII south to win at Phog Allen. Man, you 'horns are gettin awful riled up over some friendly smack. But oh no, we're not your real rivals. Actually, I think y'all should take 12-7 in stride. I don't think Fran is the guy to get us to where we should be and that win probably will keep him around a couple seasons longer than he should be. Given Byrne's track record hiring coaches, I'd love to see who he'd go after to turn around our football program. Kitso KS 361 more hours until I head off to Custer to start student teaching. |

why are they holding their hands in their laps and bending over in that position?
