Amazing Race 11: All Stars
 

Just like Big Brother and Survivor, Amazing Race is doing an all-star editon (which many of us heard during AR10). The contestants were announced today via USA Today. The show starts Feb. 18.

A lot of the contestants I wasn't suprised about.

Nice to see Joyce and Uchenna are back...

I'm glad they're back too (even thought I didn't watch too much of their season). I'm also glad the two bald friends from Season 1 are back. Not a suprise on gay couple from Season 1, Rob and Amber, Kentucky and the BQs and Chandra/Mira (little person and her cousin).

Awesome, Team Guido is back. I wish that Collin would be back to break another ox though!

I predict a catfight between Dusty/Kandice and Charla/Mirna!

I'm so glad they're not back. Charla and Mirna will be bad enough; I couldn't take another season of the hippies, too.

Did any one catch that Eric (of Eric and Jeremy, Season 9) and Danielle (of Danielle and Dani, Season 9) are paired?

I love the hippies, but that risque picture that floated around the internet (hi, Speedo) made me want to barf.

And Rob and Amber...? JESUS CHRIST. You guys have a reality show coming up and you STILL had to do TAR All-Stars? :mad:

Attention whoring at its best. I doubt this or TAR 11 will be featured in the next Quarterly.

Having an "all stars" show for TAR is LAME. However, it can't possibly be as lame as family edition, so I'll probably watch. I'll have to invent a drinking game to numb the pain of having to see Romber again, though. Maybe I'll drink every time he says something annoying. Heh.

I wish they were bringing back the hot brothers. WTF.

Even though Rob and Amber didn't win their season, they were an extremely competitive team and tried a lot of new strategies to help them get further. Sure, some of them made me mad, and I don't like Romber, but they were strong racers and deserve to be on TARAS. They'll be the team everyone is rooting against, and the show needs that.

On another note, I had heard Jon and Chris (I think season 6) were going to be on All Stars, which made me happy since they were my favorite team out of all the seasons. But I guess not :(

So I may be in the minority here, but I LOVE Rob and Amber! I'm glad to see they're back!

I've been waiting for this for a long time!
There was one team that was having a lot of bad luck-----shoulder injury and flat tire but even that couldn't keep them out.
I'm still routing for Uchenna and Joyce.

Why does Mirna treat Charla like a puppy? "C'mon Charla!" "C'mon!" I'm waiting for her to offer her a biscuit. Very patronizing. What's with Mirna's silly spanish accent? And now I hear that Mirna bought Charla "Heelies" so she can pull her through the airport. :eek: PLEEZE be eliminated.. SOON!

I'm liking Rob and Amber. I really didn't think I would. They seem to have mellowed out a bit and aren't so evil. But speaking of evil.. oooh.. what happened to Kentucky? Guess they've taken to heart the phrase "nice guys finish last" by lying to the Beauty Queens.

I can't believe Ian is still wearing that dorky safari hat. What's up with that?

And a new twist.. the losers are being sequestered in a home. I wonder if they're going to show that too?

Something ran over so my dvr only caught the first half hour and then I go to TWoP and see that who was eliminated and now I'm not happy.

I read somewhere that you'll be able to see parts of that on the cbs website.

As much as Amber and Rob are overexposed, I do think they will place in the top 3 again. They're young, athletic, work well together and I do think that Rob is pretty street-savvy. He does come across as "book dumb" but I do think there is some brain activity upstairs. When they were on TAR the first time, that was so awesome how he bribed the bus driver not to open the doors at the back of the bus....ha ha!

Romber is very crafty, and I expect them to be big contenders again.

I hate that this show is on Sunday again. I liked it on Tuesday. I am usually nowhere near a TV at 8 on Sunday :(

Exactly why I enjoy watching them.

Still love Joyce and Uchenna, still hate Mirna and Schirmna.

As much as I'm sick of seeing Rob and Amber on TV, I'd definitely still be happy for them if they won the million more so than I would if Charla/Schmeerna won.

Nice to see Cha Cha Cha again. They were entertaining and fun to watch during their season and I'm glad their back.

It'll be interesting to see Eric and Danielle racing together considering they haven't done this with each other before.

What is with Mary?? She should have learned the last time that spending time helping others will only come back to bite her in the behind.

Mirna and Schmirna tired to screw over the beauty queens, only to have it bite them in the butt.

I did love that the 2 teams who were on the delayed flight managed to come in first and second, mainly because neither of them are worried about the other teams-- they just do what needs to be done.

I want David and Mary to get eliminated just so I don't have to hear Mary whining about how her "friends" screwed her over. I don't think I can put up with more of that.

I say Mirna and Schmirna will self destruct in about oh, 2 episodes. Those two bitches are scary.

I think my Mirna and Schmirna hate has doubled this time around. Where is Colin when you need him?

Kevin and Drew. I didn't watch last night either and watched the Oscars.

Kevin and Drew...which was probably for the best since they seemed to be physically falling apart.

It was pretty funny watching all the other cars race past them because they didn't pay attention to the "you can go 50 kph after this point" instructions, yet they were so insistant that they were the only ones following the rules! :)

I like having Romber in the race, but I really hope they don't come in first all/most of the legs. That will be SO boring, and do nothing to boost TAR's ratings.

I held out a little hope at the end that maybe Mary has finally gotten a clue. Now if she'll just stop talking about it.

That was too funny. There's Schmirna, complaining about using all of the money they have left to pay the taxi driver (yet she tries to hire another taxi driver later in the show), but when the BQs offer to pay half, she (1) tells them "no," (2) tells them to go on, letting them drive ahead of her and Mirna, and (3) whines while all of the other teams go by. What a piece of work.

I have never watched all of an AR series - just a random show here or there, so I don't "know" any of these people. So - from my "innocent" observations, I really am "eh" about most of these contestants. So far, I like Rob & Amber, Oswald & Danny (the comment about the manicurist made me roll with laughter), and Uchenna & Joyce. I am waiting for a super secret double elimination that takes out Kentucky and Scmharla & Schmirna in one fell swoop banishing all four contestants from ever appearing in public, much less television, again. What in the world was up with Schmirna's crazy "Spanish" accent with the "God save you" and pushing her bag on him? I am waiting in serious anticipation for Terri & Ian to have it out with them next week.

Good riddance to Kevin & Drew - not sure why they were even on the show to begin with given their physical state.

I didn't watch TAR back when they were on, and I missed the first episode of this season, but WTF was up with them? Did that one guy have some type of serious health issues? I looked them up on the TAR website and was SHOCKED to see that he's only 40 or 41 years old. If he doesn't have health issues, just wow.

Kevin and Drew were on Season One and were thisclose to making the final three (Team Guido, which everyone hated, made it before them). They were in a lot better physical shape then. Also, they were on the show six years ago and a lot has changed.

That's how she communicates in foreign countries -- we got to see lots it her first time around. Endearing, isn't it? :rolleyes:

But he isn't a crazy nut job like she is - I can't believe they were on for a whole season - I have seen less than 2 hours of them (ah, the joys of DVR!) and I cannot stand EITHER of them already!

I think they were the fifth or sixth team eliminated their season. I was so ready for Colin to take them out too. Their elimination can not come soon enough this season.

As much as I hate to say it, I would have preferred to see Colin and Christie racing. They treated each other like crap, but they were entertaining...and I like crap and entertaining -- not annoying with fake accents!

Damn you Colin and Christie for getting pregnant!

Maybe I'm just saying this because dwarf people make me feel uneasy. They really do.
