Jump In, New Double Dutch Movie, Premieres on 1.12.07

For the double dutch fans, admirers, doers of the world, there is a double dutch movie, Jump In that will premiere on Friday, January 12, 2007 on Disney Channel starring Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee, Madea's Family Reunion, Barbershop 2) and Corbin Blue from High School Musical fame.

I saw the commercial this weekend and I am looking forward to it as an admirer of the sport.

It will probably be cute, but must every movie be some type of 'challenge' movie? Drumline (band), Stomp the Yard (stepping), Roll Bounce (skating)

Wonder what will be next?

Pride is going the be about a black swim team.... I don't know if that counts as a "challenge" movie. :)

Anyway, I found this on youtube today whilst looking for something else....thought it would be nice to get us hype for the movie!

lets see: bubble blowing --both from bottles and the gum; tiddily winks (not sure what they are...); marbles--it is a sport but still....;yo yo tricks;that paddle with the ball on a string of elastic--"how many times will he be able to do it for his school under the pressure??" can hear the hype now!! Now, what does all this mean about the future of g rated movies...??

I never did master double dutch but I sure can turn!

This is great. I have fond memories of double dutch on the playground and on the block. I wonder if the Double Dutch Bus song (old skool) will be in the soundtrack....

Little btb is looking forward to it as she is an admirer of Corbin Blue. He is a cute little fella. We watched the pop-up edition of HSM a few weeks ago. It was entertaining.

The father in the movie is Corbin Bleu's real life father. I can wait to watch it. Keke Palmer and Corbin Bleu both have songs on the soundtrack

This movie is very good. I love Izzy's little sister. She reminds me of FeeFee's daughter.

I read in Vibe that Keke Palmer is coming out with her own album.

Yeah I have seen the music video on Disney for a song by her for the movie.

The freestyle performance by the Hot Chili Steppers was AWESOME!!!! :)

I watched it with my sons who are avid DisneyChannel fans. It was really cute although it started off a little slow. I just saw Akeelah and the Bee last week and was pleased to see Kiki again. As for Corbin, I am not feeling the Freddy (Different World) dust mop look...

Me either soror! Doesn't he also remind you of Justin Girini(sp) from American Idol?

Otherwise me & little Kommitted watched it last night, of course she loved it & I thought it was cute:)

I agree. It did start off slow but I liked it overall. And yes Corbin Bleu does remind me of Justin Guarini. He seems like a good kid.

Little btb and I watched it last night (she DVR'd it the night before). It was a cute movie. Then she wanted to watch "Cory in the House". Mama was so tired that she went to sleep on it, so I don't know how that is. Maybe I'll watch it with her today.

Finally! Us old school double dutch jumpers will get our props!
Shoot, some of these youngins born in the 80s are double-handed ( ;) for my double dutch jumpers, ya'll know what I mean) and can't jump. LOL.

I hope that they will represent with some jumpers from the Chi!!!
Back in the day, I was your typical jumper who bought a clothes line rope and always had my double dutch rope with me at school during recess, before school - and you know we could get a quick game in after school! LOL.

Then it was home for homework until I could go back outside again and get in a game of double dutch, IRISH (what ya'll know about Irish??? :D ), Chinese jumprope (what ya'll know about that ??? :) ) or hopscotch drawn on the ground with the little white rocks from our driveway. LOL.

Popups, mumbles, all around, criss cross...
