The S.O. Name Game

It is funny that there is no thread for this. They do it in Hollywood, so how about we do too? If you and your significant other had a nickname based on your names merged together, what would it be?

Goofy Bastard

smiley21 12-01-2006 02:12 AM

LOL

SOPi_Jawbreaker 01-01-2007 04:17 AM

I don't think my name really lends itself to name-merging. But with my one friend and her ex, we refered to them as Kemily (Kenny + Emily = Kemily).

My cousin's name is York (he was born in New York; his sister was born in Virginia and was named Virginia) and his wife's name is Pam. Since their names are York and Pam, when they go to potluck dinner parties at other couples' homes, they bring their signature dish, Pork and Yam.

WhiteDaisy128 01-02-2007 12:40 AM

Several of my friends refer to my fiance and I under a merged name (Chris + Carolyn) = Chrisolyn :D

SxyLady07 01-02-2007 08:48 PM

I stuck with the traditional "boo-boo" and "baby". Nothing new here.

texas*princess 01-04-2007 08:48 PM

My older sister and her guy referred to themselves as Brezette (Brett + Lizette) long before Bennifer, Brangelina and TomKat ever came to pass.

bichonl 01-05-2007 10:55 AM

Based on last names, something like "Gomar" for me and Dan.

amanda6035 01-05-2007 04:33 PM

I dont know if there IS a way to merge Amanda and Jonathan (or Jonny, as I call him)
Amandathan? Jonda? HAH.

that is my little brothers name, they got called shonnathan so I vote for Amandathan, Jonda is too obvious and sounds like Jaundice and you don't want to walk around and pass people and have them say "there goes that yellow eyed couple"

LightBulb 01-11-2007 05:09 AM

Marly + Jonathon = Marlathon / Jonaly?

Booo.

He is Buttercup, and I am Smiley. :)

AlphaFrog 01-11-2007 08:31 AM

2 Points to anyone who can figure out how to merge Ernesto + Jessica.
Ernessica and Jernesto both sound really stupid.

Still BLUTANG 01-11-2007 10:59 AM

jernesto really IS what i was thinking in my head.

for me and my boy, there's not enough vowels in or something in our 1st names to make a good merged name for us. Add to that his friends actually call him "firstnamelastname" like one big word.

PhoenixAzul 01-14-2007 11:07 AM

Patrick+Tracey= Patracey

Our nicknames are ridiculous, based mostly on inside jokes/ridiculous things we've seen in our travels. Examples:

Bee Hat (interchange bee chapeau, bee bonnet, bee sombrero, b'hat, beepat)
Eel (smarmy eel more specifically)

jwright25 01-14-2007 09:23 PM

Beth + Justin = Bestin??? I never thought about it!

I think I have you beat...
Try to merge Orlando & Kathy!!!
Orlathy? Katando?

Yay for husbands with Spanish names! ;)

AlphaFrog 01-24-2007 02:54 PM

Katando sounds like it should be a character on Mortal Combat.:p

Rio_Kohitsuji 02-26-2007 12:32 AM

Ack! I have no idea how to combine Kayla and Dusty!

Kusty? Dayla?
K.Dust?

trojangal 02-26-2007 07:30 AM

Karl and Cheryl?

lyrica9 02-27-2007 03:46 AM

i remember long before the trend of celeb name combos, there was a couple in my high school that was inseparable, and we called them "mandrew"
(mandy + andrew)

Cardinal026 02-28-2007 01:52 PM

Kelly & Tyler = KelTy

I tend to go by "Kel" and call him "Ty" so thats how I have been signing all of our notes and cards and whatnot for years - but I tend to capitolize the "T" even though our nicknames touch as if they were one word, or else I'll just write "KT."

ASUADPi 02-28-2007 07:12 PM

Although I'm not dating anyone right now, I remember after the first Bennifer broke up and before Bennifer part duex got together, my friends and I joked about how we would put our names together with Ben's. So my name is Brianna, these were the best we came up with :D

BriBen
Benanna (LOL, that was my personal favorite because it's like a tongue twister).

I can't remember what we thought of for my friends :D

What about Erik and Desta (that is my brother and his girlfriend) or Lupita and Tim (my second brother and his wife)?

James 03-01-2007 03:07 PM

Isn't it kind of sexist to always put the boy's name first?

I think they only do that b/c it ususally sounds better. Otherwise you'd have:
Angiad or Jen-en/Jennien

James 03-01-2007 05:11 PM

Oh you are probably right . . . but a screwed up name would be more fun to laugh at :)

Malarry. Which sounds like Malaria. Maybe not.

SOPi_Jawbreaker 05-01-2007 11:30 PM

Totally off on a tangent: A couple weeks ago, some friends and I were at a bar playing PhotoHunt, and we got the third or fourth highest score, so I decided to create a name that would have bits of all five of our names....Robamelledily. :p

susan314 05-03-2007 01:44 PM

Hmmn...

Well, with Brad + Susan, you could get Busan...which if pronounced "boozin" could totally apply to my husband much of the time. ;) :)

(Perhaps me also, in my college and/or single days, but not so much since I've had kids. :o )

chitownxo 05-03-2007 01:50 PM

Let's see what can I do with Sue and Dave ....I guess Save or Due. Kind of boring.

Or we could use our full names - Susan and David, which leaves us with Savid or Dusan. I'm kinda leaning toward Dusan
