Hoodies!

Who else love these things?

They keep you warm and dry. You can put almost anything in the pocket. It's a good alternative to a purse sometimes.

I own like fifty two thousand hoodies and I wear them with yoga pants almost every single day. It's my "I don't give a crap anymore" uniform.

I knew we talked about this before.... I was seriously creeped out by the deja vu because I am watching Daybreak right now. :(

AlexMack 11-15-2006 10:47 PM

I live in them. For all you Lost fanatics, I just bought a Dharma Initiative hoodie! I can't wait to get it :D

carnation 11-15-2006 11:38 PM

On any cool or cold day, at least 75% of my students are wearing hoodies. Of course, the big thing now is to stealthily reach over and fill your neighbor's hood with paper or something lightweight so the neighbor will pull it over his head and get bombed.

KatieKate1244 11-15-2006 11:42 PM

Once it actually cools down (50 degrees isn't that cold), I wear mine all the time. I have two I switch around, but they're starting to show how much I've loved them.

Jill1228 11-15-2006 11:58 PM

I love my hoodie. I will be packing mine for Phoenix and Las Vegas this weekend

texas*princess 11-16-2006 12:55 AM

Most of my sweatshirts are hoodies...I love them.

I love hoodies! I have several of them. :)

Rudey 11-16-2006 11:16 AM

I've got a cashmere hoodie with a skull and bones thing on it and it gets all the biker chicks staring.

mulattogyrl 11-16-2006 12:22 PM

I like hoodies too. I need more.

ForeverRoses 11-16-2006 01:00 PM

Hoodies are great! I dress my two kids in them as well (1 & 4yrs), however the 4yr old starts kindergarten next year, and hoodies are on the list of "banned" clothes (along with tank tops, droopy pants, midriff-baring shirts, etc). I have no idea why the hoodies are banned. Any ideas?

Drolefille 11-16-2006 01:08 PM

"Gang" wear. It's not really targeted at the Kindergarteners, but the rules are just made for the entire school. I think it's silly that they can't just say, hoods off indoors, but whatever.

The pockets are large enough to sneak in weapons, food/drinks, drugs, or gameboys...things that are not allowed in schools. I can understand why hoodies are banned in some places.

KATwoman 11-16-2006 02:27 PM

I'm not a big fan because what is the point? No one really uses the hood.

But it's funny I just read an article recently that says the hoodies have become popular among street thieves/thugs/whatever in the UK so they refer to these people as hoodies.

Hoodies are just more snuggly and cozy than crewnecks. Plus I use my pouch and my hood on occasion.

KSUViolet06 11-16-2006 03:51 PM

I have like 10 sorority hoodies. They're amazing for those colder Greek events like Homecoming football games with freezing rain.

HBADPi 11-16-2006 03:52 PM

I love hoodies and people out here in southern california make fun of me for calling it a hoodie! Apparently calling it a sweatshirt would suffice but they dont seem to understand its so much more than a sweatshirt! I remember in college the year that all the greeks started shifting from the crewneck lettered sweatshirts to the hoodie letters. Talk about an end of an era!

When I worked with a day camp/after care, hooded sweatshirts were banned because of the strings and the potential for strangulation. The strings can get caught on play equipment like slides and swings, and if the hoods are up peripheral vision was also an issue. They also didn't allow winter hats that tied under the chin for the same reason.

TrueBlueKappa 11-16-2006 07:17 PM

I love hoodies! I bought a school hoodie the other day so that I could dress down on Fridays in the fall. (At my school, teachers can wear jeans on Fridays as long as they wear a school shirt.)

A lot of my kids wear hoodies, too, especially now that it is so cold down here (60-70 degrees is freezing for these Florida kids!). I think that my school might be on the verge of banning them, because the new thing is for kids to sneak their ipods in under the hoods in class!

Tom Earp 11-16-2006 07:30 PM

Very great for holding places up, shooting or beating people with their weapons!

Yea for hoodies.

Just finally caught 3 people who did this.

People come in to my store are told once and tazered the seconded time!

CRAP! They caught on!

Now how will I rob the liquor store tonight?

/is it okay to commit armed robbery in your letter hoodie? Or do you think that's against national policy?

This is the best Earp post in weeks.

If you wear a hoodie you're automatically a criminal. So think about it, the choice is yours. You can still walk away!

We can wear jeans anytime at my school, but I only wear them about once a week, but I have 3 different school hoodies I wear with them. I also have a "Keep Louisville Weird" hoodie in all black I live in during cold weekends.

My school is also on the verge of banning hoodies for the ipod problems. We also have a problem with kids pulling them over their heads in class and playing with them. It's more the issue of them using them as a distraction then anything.

aephi alum 11-17-2006 01:11 AM

I've never owned a hoodie. For cold weather, I've always opted for a hat and scarf, or a pashmina shawl wrapped over my head and around my neck (the way I wrap it, it looks a bit like what a Muslim woman might wear to cover her hair, but it's for warmth, not modesty - and it is toasty warm). Plus, casual day doesn't exist at my office... :(

My mom would always take the strings out of mine when I was a kid. Okay, even when I was like 16. Hahaha. Now it's a habit and I do it too.

PrettyBoy 11-17-2006 05:14 AM

I guess they're o.k. I don't have any though.

RU OX Alum 11-17-2006 10:14 AM

hoodies are the best invention ever...i'm wearing mine now that has letters plus everything else because today is our founders day but we did the formal thing last week.

Still BLUTANG 11-17-2006 11:03 AM

I normally rock a zip-up hoodie, but i FINALLY just purchased my first ever school-pride hoodie. When i was in school the selection was terrible (2 colors, 2 sizes, poor quality). Now that we're on the come-up the apparel is soooo much better. I've worn it soo many times in the past 2 weeks its crazy.

I'd say play it safe and just turn it inside out. Oh and make sure that no blood gets on your letters.

I agree, when I was a freshman I was so upset about the clothing selection (or lack thereof) at Mason, but ever since we made it to the Final Four for basketball, our Bookstore is STOCKED with really nice stuff...the first thing I bought was two really nice embroidered hoodies. :D

OT: To defend the Florida kids (because I am one) ... when it's 82 degrees outside one day, then 65 the next, it's hoodie weather.
