The Baby Thread

Ok...first thing's first (for those who don't know):
I am giving birth to ASA's newest Sweetheart sometime this week.
He will be Vicente John (Vicente after my husband's grandfather and John after my father).

Now the rant:

My c-section has been scheduled for 2 MONTHS now...and I had been asking to schedule it since around month 4....which would probably indicate that I was serious about needing to plan for this (yes, I know, he could come early, and I would have no control over that, but considering my daughter was over a week late, I didn't think we'd have that problem). So, anyway, the Dr office called today to confirm my Dr. appt for Pre-Op this afternoon. And then she said something about my c-sec on Friday. I said "Don't you mean Thur???" and she said "No, the hospital OR was all booked on Thur, so we're going to do it Friday instead."

UMM....SHOULDN'T YOU HAVE FREAKIN CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT?!?!?!?!

I hope I go into labor on Thur just so they have to do it then anyway...I've already planned my leave, my husband and mom & dad have planned their days off so they could be there for delivery...I'm so:mad:

Drolefille 11-13-2006 12:36 PM

Congrats on Vicente's (eventual) entrance to the world!

And boo on the Dr. Office. Like you don't have enough things to worry about. What would have happened if you'd shown up Thursday? You'd just get sent home or something?

DSTCHAOS 11-13-2006 01:05 PM

<----didn't know that AlfaFrog was pregnant. God bless her and her family.

I hope I haven't typed anything to you that will make your son meanspirited towards me.

Ok, so at my OB visit, I discovered that the call I got was NOT from the OB's office, it was from the hospital. They had taken it upon themselves to move my c-sec, without even consulting my OB. My OB is just as pissed as I am, because she's on call all of Thur, and doesn't want to attempt to perform a c-sec at noon on Friday after 36 hours of being on call. The original plan was that my c-sec would be at 7:30am on Thur, but now it's looking more like late afternoon...which is OK too...I'll take one final day of sleeping in:D :D ! I should put my husband on toddler-duty Thur morning, and maybe take a 1/2 spa day.

I'm feeling a lot better about this. Two days left.:)

Good luck and best wishes on the future new little one!!! I definitely vote for sleeping in in combination with a spa day.

Congratulations, AlphaFrog! I didn't know about your big event:) I have a 15 month old little boy. He is so much fun!

Messing with hospitals and scheduling and all that junk really stinks! I know! Try not to let it get to you. You'll soon have that little one in your arms.

Good luck to you, and God bless!

Things are going pretty good. I feel good, and Mariana is just exstatic over her new brother. I was in the hospital from Thur afternoon to Sun morning. My incision is pretty small, and I only had 12 staples (normal is about 20). They've already started calling and emailing me from work with questions...gee...this is going to be fun coming back, I can already tell.

My little Phi Kappa Tau legacy had his one-month checkup yesterday.

He gained FOUR lbs in three weeks. He's also grown an inch. At 11lbs, 4 oz and 22 inches, he's in the 95% for weight and 85% for length. He's going to be tall like Mariana. She's in the 70% for height (but only the 40% for weight - poor girl can't ever keep her pants around her waist because she doesn't HAVE a waist).

Awww. How was baby's first Christmas? Any pics?

I find that utensils just get in the way. I actually prefer eating with my hands. If it was good enough for the cavemen, it's good enough for me. Besides, if I use utensils, I can't eat and walk while wearing letters at the same time, so then people won't be able to tell the classy broad that I truly am.
