Ed Bradley Tribute

this evening on 60 Minutes

pinkies up 11-12-2006 09:00 PM

That was a great tribute to a wonderful human being. Wynton Marsalis' tribute was great!

^^^^
Cosign! I almost choked up when the cameraman and Jimmy Buffett was getting emotional.

DSTCHAOS 11-12-2006 09:37 PM

I hate that I missed it. I hope it will either reaire or be put on Youtube.

Gina1201 11-12-2006 09:49 PM

I caught the last 30 min. (luckily I recorded it on my DVR). This just confirms what we already knew Ed Bradley was truly a cool dude. RIP Ed. Thanks for the memories.

AKA_Monet 11-12-2006 11:46 PM

RIP Ed...

I have only seen ~45 minutes of 60 minutes... And it was a wonderful tribute to a great man... I know where you are...Teddy...

It's on CBS.com

This made me cry. :(

DSTCHAOS, also if you have OnDemand on your cable, they've been showing some repeats of CBS shows. Check and see if this is on it.

This tribute was really an honor to everything he did and who he truly was. It captured every aspect of his life from "Butch" Bradley to his love of jazz music and Jimmy Buffet (who knew!). He will be missed.

The tribute to Ed was a moving and emotional celebration of his contributions to broadcast journalism. 60 Minutes also did a good job at showcasing Ed Bradley, the man. I couldn't help but cry. We have lost a true icon.

I finally watched the whole show last night and I cried so much. I never watched 60 Minutes much but was always fond of Ed Bradley. In a way, he reminds me of my grandfather. Kudos to 60 Minutes as well. They did a EXCELLENT tribute.

Jill1228 11-13-2006 03:40 PM

I DVRd it before leaving for a concert last night. Watched it this morning and they certainly did right by him

Peaches-n-Cream 11-13-2006 09:12 PM

I watched the tribute last night, and I was very moved. Ed Bradley's talent, intelligence, and compassion will be missed.

I set up my VCR to tape 60 Minutes before I left to go out, and what about the damn VCR blanked out, and I didn't get to see it.....I really hope that they rerun that episode.

That's what happens to those of us who have not left the dinosaur world of the VCR, and stepped into the modern world of DVR's. (raising my hand... admitting guilt) :( One day, I'll get a DVR....:( Curse those dayum dinosaur VCR's!

Girl if you knew how much I pay for cable, trust you would know why I still have a DVr, but now that you say that...I got digital cable long before DVR came out on your box...I wonder if I can get a new box with the upgrade, cuz it would make my life a whole lot better.:)

thesweetestone 11-15-2006 09:58 AM

I thought they would show his Lena Horne story beause he said it was his favorite. I wanted to see it.

AKA2D '91 11-22-2006 12:23 PM

CSPAN aired his public memorial service on yesterday. Check the site for re-broadcasts.

A great celebration of life!

RedefinedDiva 11-22-2006 03:11 PM

I saw a short clip of it last night and it was truly a grans celebration of life, complete with a second line band. That's the best way to go out, with lots of love and fond memories.

kiml122 11-24-2006 02:09 PM

I did get to see the tribute that 60 Minutes did on last Suday on BET, they rebroadcast it, and I am so glad thta I was able to see it, since I missed it the first time. He will definitely be missed.
