Favorite Christmas Movies

What are your favorite xmas movies? Mine are

The Christmas Story
Charlie Brown's Christmas
All I Want For Christmas
The Santa Clause Movies -- did yall know that a third one is coming out soon? I can't wait -- love good xmas movies to get you in the spirit.

SigKapSweetie 10-27-2006 11:23 AM

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
A Muppet Christmas Carol
Love Actually

Drolefille 10-27-2006 11:26 AM

Muppet Christmas Carol,
Grinch stole Christmas
Charlie Brown Christmas
Big Bird/Sesame Street Christmas (You know the one where they go ice skating and Big Bird sleeps on the roof and freezes his giblets)
Santa Clause (haven't seen 2, want to see it and 3)
A Christmas Story (but only like once! Not 24 hours of it)
Muppet Family Christmas (All the muppets at Fozzie's mom's house, Fraggles & Sesame Street included)
All the classic animated ones: Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus is coming to town, Jack Frost, and I may be missing one.

Now i'm singing the Sesame Street Christmas songs:

Keep Christmas with you
All through the year
When Christmas is over
You can keep it near
These precious moments
Hold them very dear
And keep Christmas with you
All through the year
(With Sign language!)

A Smokey Mountain Christmas, with Dolly Parton, is my favorite. It's not on DVD though, so I rarely get to watch it!

AlphaFrog 10-27-2006 01:44 PM

Home Alone II
Although I cry when I watch it because it was my Grandpa's all time favorite movie. He just loved watching Marv get pulverized.

MysticCat 10-27-2006 02:21 PM

A Christmas Story -- I love this movie. Otherwise, there aren't really any Christmas movies I care about or will make much effort to see.

As for specials, its pretty much "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" -- the original Chuck Jones animated movie that sticks very close to the book, not the cinematic horror-show with the overacting Jim Carrey. Most of the others, I work hard to avoid. (I didn't like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" when I was a kid, and I still don't like it.)

IT'S OCTOBER!

Why do people insist on starting the holiday season earlier and earlier each year?

Silence, infidel. :p

I forgot Good King Wenceslas! It stars Jonathan Brandis, my childhood crush extraordinaire. One of my sisters had it on videotape in college - we both loved him!

I love xmas movies! It is a tradition of my family to watch All I Want for Christmas on Christmas Eve. Have since we were little.

Going to see Santa Clause 3 this weekend -- I am really excited that Martin Short is in it! I love him! Really enjoyed the first two as well.

Is Love Actually really a X-mas movie though? I tend to just think if it as a movie that takes place in December....

I like the original version "The Bishop's Wife" with Cary Grant, David Niven, and Loretta Young.
For a fun Christmas movie I liked Bill Murray in Scrooged.
And then there is that Cheech and Chong short film where they are telling the story of the visit by the three wise men, Casper, Melchior, and Balthazar.
Casper bends down to enter the stable and offering his gift says, Gold for the King. Melchior bends down and says, frankincense for the King. and finally Balthazar in his haste to enter the stable forgets to bend down and bashes his head on the door frame. Jesus Christ, he exclaims! at which Mary turns to Joseph and says, hay Joseph, don't that sound better than calling him Irving?

Claymation Christmas, especially the Three Kings!

AlexMack 10-31-2006 01:29 AM

OMG Love Actually. I Love that film so much. I have yet to make the boyf watch it, but he will. I will make sure of it.

Also, this is kind of a UK classic, but The Snowman. My absolute all-time favourite christmas film. I have it if anyone wants it, I can send it via email and I'm more than happy to share. It's so beautiful.

What's the christmas film with Dudley Moore as an elf? I LOVE that film too.

How did I forget that? Okay, that's 2 Christmas movies I'll take time to watch.

But not until December -- well, into December.

RU OX Alum 11-01-2006 03:40 PM

Santa Claus versus the Martians!!!!!!!

dzfan 11-06-2006 03:54 PM

So did anyone see Santa Clause 3 this weekend? I was suppose to go but going to go this week instead -- what did you think? I have seen some good reviews on it so looking forward to seeing it.

AOX81 11-09-2006 01:49 PM

A Christmas Story! :D

Cardinal026 11-09-2006 04:55 PM

For Classics, I love the animation movie "Santa Claus Comes to Town", but I also really think "Elf" and "Bad Santa" are hilarious.

ZTAMich 11-09-2006 05:20 PM

Charlie Brown Christmas
March of the Toy Soldiers
Meet Me in St. Louis - my sisters and I can quote most of the movie

Drolefille 11-09-2006 10:33 PM

Elf is awesome!

I watched my friend eat an "Elf" breakfast. Macaroni with chocolate chips, crumbled pop tarts, marshmallows and I don't know what else with maple syrup drizzled on top. It made her sick but she kept taking another bite. :p
