Cases of Self-Talking

Have you ever talk to yourself? Have you ever seen someone talking to themselves?

http://www.medicinenet.com/script/ma...ticlekey=35005

Is self talking a good thing or not? :)

My mom always talked to herself in front of me.

I thought this thread was going to be about certain posters around here lately...

You mean like Blueangel talking to ReachTheLimit?

Unregistered- 10-24-2006 02:26 PM

blueangel 10-24-2006 02:27 PM

Sorry. I don't do it unless I'm frustrated, like trying to find something I misplaced (which happens A LOT). I always make sure there's no one else around though.

DolphinChicaDDD 10-24-2006 03:43 PM

I talk to myself. I do it while I'm teaching sometimes, and the kids think I'm crazy.

_Opi_ 10-24-2006 03:46 PM

I talk to myself often. Usually when I'm studying or trying to understand a concept.

I also talk at inanimate objects like the T.V. or my labtop.

epchick 10-24-2006 04:13 PM

I'm talking to myself right now :D :D ;) :p :D

Mine too.

You all are just a bunch of wierdos who talk to yourselves...I mean, who actually does it? I would really suggest you all to see a doctor, it helps a lot!

whiteandblack 10-24-2006 07:52 PM

I talk to myself. If I crack myself up, I laugh out loud and don't give a damn who sees.

SigKapSweetie 10-24-2006 08:18 PM

I talk to myself. It helps me while I'm studying. Sometimes it's the only intelligent conversation I can get.

No, not really. I'm not a git.

I'm joking. I enjoy talking to myself as much as having sex with myself!

tinydancer 10-24-2006 08:30 PM

Yeah, I talk to myself. If anyone catches me, I can claim I'm talking to the cats.

AGDee 10-24-2006 08:59 PM

The co-worker in the cube next to me and I both talk to ourselves. We'll say things like "Oh shoot" or "What did I just do?" If anybody asks either of us who we're talking to, we have a pact that we can always say we're talking to the other one.

ETA: One day, I had just made a mistake that was really dumb and I said "Geez I'm an idiot!" and someone had just walked into my cube to ask for help with her computer. I looked at her and said "You want me to help, knowing that I'm an idiot?" Yep, I was caught that time!

I don't own a cat myself (which I wish I did :o ) but when I see my friend's cat, I pretend talking to her...so cute :p

My coworker talks to himself, constantly! I can hear him through the office wall we share. He talks while he is at his desk, to the fax and copy machines, while walking around-- it is annoying. We have asked him before if the copy machine answers, he looked at us confused.
Today another coworker was in my office, the talker came in asked a question, we answered, he left. A couple of minutes later the talker returned and stook in my office and continued to talk, while the other coworker and I continued our conversation. Let me say it is next to impossible to carry on a conversation with one person while another is present talking to himself!

jon1856 10-24-2006 10:30 PM

I do it all the time. If I have a problem or some thing to sort out.
It helps that I am a Gemini.;)

Rio_Kohitsuji 10-24-2006 10:52 PM

I TOTALLY feel wrong for laughing, but this is just too darn funny.

And my dear fellow lovely people, what you are witnessing right now, is a form of self talking, talking to oneself on internet back and forth with 2 different screen names....

Seriously..."what was she thinking?" (get it my fellow IL residents? :p )
