Use the Symbol font. For example, to type the Greek letters for Alpha Delta Pi, use the following, only remove the *
ADP [/*font] or ADP Good luck! |
DSQ
"Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! Now you try it!!!" |

What's up with all of those Ks in your username? :) |
ADP [/*font] or ADP
LXA or LXA |
Hm, is it only done on sig. ?
:o |
Ok since this thread is here...what about the lil awareness ribbons I see in people's siggies? How do you make those? Or the other symbols like hearts and stuff.
My siggy is so boring! I want a ribbon there, LOL. |

symbol font isn't in the dropdown, you just have to replace the font name with symbol.
Ribbons are probably windings or webdings.. something like that |

My pink ribbon is for Breast Cancer Awareness. It's much in the same way:
Remove the * before you post, and you can change the color, too: [B*]-[/font*][/color*][/B*] FYI, my signature's ribbon is a size 6. When using the webdings font, the dash becomes the ribbon. |

That's greek for OMGWTFBBQ!!! :D :D Yes i know its random....but I feel very hyper right now, so whatever! |
I did that too and it doesn't work for me, so the hell with it! Why can't they just make it like it is in word!

Stop trying to be grown and just cut and paste the examples that they provided on page 1. Just replace their letters with KAY. :D |
AFW

Symbol doesn't always work! All of the Greek letters posted here (and ribbons, for that matter), I can't see 'em. But I can see the letters in my signature. I have the Symbol font installed on my computoy too, so that's not it--I think it varies between browsers. For example, when you see Alpha, Phi, and Omega, I see AFW.
There's a trick. Every font has tons more characters than you think. (My letters are actually in the "Georgia" font.) Go to Character Map and scroll a lot. There's a Greek alphabet hidden in there, I promise. ;) However, because I'm fantastic and generally awesome, I'm gonna copy and paste for y'all! ΑΒΓΔΕΖΗΘΙΚΛΜΞΟΠΡΣΤΥΦΧΨΩ I think this should work on Macs too--I don't know, I don't have my MacBook with me right this second. |

The quick fix for netscape/firefox posted in chit chat: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=83864
I don't know if safari has the same problem or not. |
That won't help us Mac users.
My style of Greek letters (above) works on both PCs and Macs, by the way. I checked. :) |
Some cool greek fonts..
Do a google search for "greek fonts". Theres a few cool ones I've gotten off of free font sites like 1001fonts.com. Then just install em in your windows font directory and you can use them in word or photoshop or whatever.
But for the internet, the easiest way is just to use the symbol font. It's a pain in the ass i know... |
Bumping this because I finally figured it out...SK
:p |
Am I a noob or is my computer weird?
Because I see it as "SK, DSQ, LXA, etc" except in Times New Roman. I don't see any Greek symbols.. |

Change font to symbol then figure out what letter (english) become your greek letters. For DPhiE, it's DFE.

one of the best things about being a Zeta is......Mine are the same in both! Gotta love it!

What about us AOL users? I've never been able to figure it out...I even had the little chart at one time for Word but it never worked for me so I tossed it.

Well, I could have said this before, but I usually use the character map to insert Greek letters. Then I just change the font/color/whatever.
The character map is located under Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools For Vista and 7, just search it in the start menu. Or you can just use the symbol code: SFE |
