Virtual Candlelight!
So I have been informed of some great news from one of our sisters! So I thought we should do a candlelight for her...GC style!
I have found my dream man, he's sweet as he can be I have found the one I love, he's all the world to me... Who wants to hold the candle next? :) |
Ooh ooh Laura! Can I hold it next? (Since I know who it is for!).
He wears the golden anchor And the Bronze, the Pink, and Blue.... (Smiling a big smile and very excited for this person:D ) |
cj did you get engaged? :p i have no idea what song yall are singing. soo...
delta gamma we'll always be true, pledging love and loyality to you, strong in friendship, spirt too, hail two colors; pink and blue. Though in time w/ some we must depart, we will keep their memories in our hearts, knowing that we're always friends, sisters to the end... nope its STILL not my candel lighting, pass... |

Ladies, please join me in 3-part harmony: Dream Girl I have found my dream girl She's as sweet as she can be I have found the one I love She's all the world to me She wears the golden anchor And the bronze, the pink, the blue Delta Gamma, I love you And to you I will be true. College memories linger Never fade nor disappear Anchored till eternity With lasting love so dear Wherever I may wander All my thoughts will turn to thee Delta Gamma, my dream girl, And to you I will be true. |
When we did candlelights in my chapter, we always used:
I have found my dream man He's sweet as he can be I have found the one I love He's all the world to me His pin is by my anchor The bronze, the pink, the blue Delta Gam I love you And to you I will be true :) |
We basically did what you did to the "Dream Girl" song with our candle passes, Laura, except we used the lines that I used above.
I guess it goes to show that despite all being sisters, our each individual chapters have their own identities. But let's continue the candle passing...because it's still not for me. |
Well, I wasn't very good about keeping it a secret, but it's ME!!
Since I teach at a year round school, I'm just wrapping up my 2 week break between quarters. Chris and I decided to take a week of the break to go to Maine on vacation! Well, on Monday, at sunrise overlooking Boothbay Harbor, Chris asked if I would be his wife!! I, of course, said yes! I'm soooo excited. We don't have an exact date yet, but we are shooting for next October (we **LOVE** fall). Once we find the location we want, we'll pick the exact date. He are a few pictures from our vacation! http://photos-560.ak.facebook.com/ip...18560_6308.jpg Chris and I in Baxter State Park. http://photos-566.ak.facebook.com/ip...18566_8531.jpg The Engagement day! Still stoked and showing off in Acadia National Park. http://photos-568.ak.facebook.com/ip...18568_9264.jpg I love this man!! And I get to MARRY him!! http://photos-574.ak.facebook.com/ip...18574_1590.jpg Beautiful sunset at Cape Elizabeth overlooking the Portland Head Light. http://photos-581.ak.facebook.com/ip...18581_4680.jpg Real men drink from pink DG bottles. http://photos-585.ak.facebook.com/ip...18585_6902.jpg We were tipped that moose like to hang out at Sandy Pond in Baxter State Park...it was quite a hike in - especially in the rain, but it paid off...big time!! http://photos-577.ak.facebook.com/ip...18577_2856.jpg My amazing fiance stopping for a picture as we hiked in Acadia. http://photos-694.ak.facebook.com/ip...18694_8987.jpg This picture was taken about 10 minutes after he proposed. http://photos-693.ak.facebook.com/ip...18693_8234.jpg The bling up-close. Sorry to hijack ....CONGRATS!
Anywhere on the New England coast is amazing in the fall for weddings. Depending on how early in the season, you obviously know the choices in Maine. Moving further down the coast, Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard are great until beginning of October. A little chilly, lots of color, and just fabulous! You can really take advantage of the season to organize your wedding pallate (sp). |
Congratulations! :) I loooove wedding planning...I would be a wedding planner if I lived in a big enough city to make a career out of it! So make sure to update all your plans as you make them. Do you have a personal site on theknot.com? You should make one! And let us know where you're registered too just in case anyone is feeling generous...hehe.

We've gotten a lot done...we have: a dress, a chapel, a reception site, a strings ensemble for the ceremony, vows/script written, photographer, videographer, DJ, food services (the reception site does the food...haven't narrowed down the menu yet), save the date cards (already went out - since it's a summer wedding), invitations ordered, shoes ordered (for me), officiant found (my uncle!), hotel block reserved (waiting to hear if the hotel got our contract), and honeymoon booked!
Wow! Things left: Order bridesmaid dresses, tuxes for the guys, ordering the cake (I think I found my bakery though), finalizing musical selections, um...and I'm sure I'm forgetting other stuff...I have to look at my checklists! haha AND I told my principals today that I am moving to Maryland for sure! We have to turn in intent forms letting them know what we are planning to do next year, and we all knew it was coming...but it's actually official now! :( I *LOVE* my school and am sad about having to leave. Now it's BEDTIME! |
I just saw this thread (thanks for letting me visit, DGs), and I just had to offer my congratulations. I will never forget your rush thread, so I feel like I "know" you! Anyway...I just wanted to say that my husband and I had our honeymoon in Maine. We loved Boothbay, Arcadia, etc. Isn't it a romantic place????
Enjoy the planning! :) |
