studio 60......

loving it ! how about you all?

33girl 10-04-2006 05:13 PM

Me too. I didn't watch West Wing or Sports Night so this is my first Sorkin exposure. It's also nice to watch Matthew Perry without Scarecrow Face and Duh Boy on the same screen.

Although I have yet to understand why Harriet is such a superstar - the character and actress haven't given me that impression at ALL.

I think that's supposed to be her redeming quality. That's she's so centered and down to Earth. Obviously she's supposed to be Tina Fey, but everytime I see her I flash back to her as the ghost/sister in American Gothic and then the friend on Jack and Jill. I pretty much have have a soft spot for the actress because I loved American Gothic.

Oh yeah and Sorkin ROCKS! Just be prepared for when he finally "hands the reins over" to the writing team to jump ship because his shows go down FAST after he leaves. :(

I love the show as well...:)

bcdphie 10-04-2006 05:38 PM

It has been added to my list of must watch... a list which is starting to get out of hand  :p.

I really like it as well. Most of the reason I tuned in was for Matthew Perry, but I'm liking the whole cast. I'm pretty surprised that I like Amanda Peet in that role as much as I do. I also freaking love her clothes, who knew a network exec could dress so cute...haha

I'd think that a network exec, especially a woman, would have to be completely stylin' and on trend at all times to prove to TPTB that she knows what America wants. I'd love to have her wardrobe!

I guess I just expected her to be in power suits all the time to show she can play with the big boys....LOL. But I love that she's not! I'd love her wardrobe too!!!

I'm a fan - I liked Sorkin's stuff on West Wing, and this show looks to be just as solid.

DeltAlum 10-04-2006 10:30 PM

For the most part I've enjoyed the show, but it ain't West Wing.

It's West Coast Wing. ;)

Seriously, I think I may have been over-Sorkined. I loved Sports Night -- one of my favorite shows of the last ten years.

I watched West Wing for 2 seasons or so, and then I somehow lost interest.

On the recommendations of friends, I watched Studio 60 Monday night. By 10:30, I was having to force myself not to change the channel and look for something else. I doubt I'll watch it again.

I felt that way about The Class. I wanted to like it but it's just baaaaad.

SoCalGirl 10-10-2006 02:05 AM

I'm really liking the show. Did everyone catch the DG line? :)

cutiepatootie 10-10-2006 02:38 AM

Yeah i did catch that!:)

KDAngel 10-10-2006 04:11 AM

Love it!

ImaDeeGee 10-10-2006 12:40 PM

Heck yes I catched the DG line! Some of my sisters and I were watching it and as soon as he said it, we all started hooting and hollering! LOL Thank goodness for DVR cause we re-wound that bad boy like twenty times to play it for everyone who walked into the room!!! :D :p :)

_Opi_ 10-10-2006 03:44 PM

Good show!

DSTCHAOS 10-10-2006 03:47 PM

I like it.

KDAngel 03-03-2007 11:58 PM

I'm a huge fan.

It's on hiatus right now, but it's back on the chopping block and may be cancelled. BD pulled decent numbers, so who knows what NBC execs are going to do. We're told we can expect to see S60 back, but that it may not stay for long.

Go and sign the petition to save it here: http://studio60.bluestatedigital.com/page/petition/main

cutiepatootie 03-04-2007 02:21 PM

Really there may be a chance to save it ? because i heard it was cancelled. But they may bring it back....hmmm! cool!

KDAngel 03-04-2007 06:30 PM

Yeah, it's not been cancelled yet. The network just said this past week that we can expect to see episode 18 in the next week or two, so who knows... I think they're all trying to give Sorkin a chance.

KDAngel 05-24-2007 09:38 PM

It's back tonight! :D 6 all new episodes. At least there will be closure to this show (I'm assuming) since we know it's not getting pick back up for next year. :(

AUAZD2001 07-22-2010 04:32 AM

So back in the day I watched this show and liked it alright. I was a HUGE fan of The West Wing and liked this show too. Anyway, it's now avalible on Netflix to watch instantly. I watched the complete series over the last couple of days. I have a new appreciation of this show and I think it's it a shame it was cancelled after only its first season. I highly recomend watching this series again (or for the first time) if you have netflix. It is very witty and heartfelt, and also an entertaining look at the inner workings of a television network and Hollywood in general. Overall a great show!
