Cool Pin Conversion for Horizontal Clasp Badges

http://www.bookofjoe.com/2006/03/21/index.html

Scroll down to the dragonfly pin...this is a NEAT idea for all you ladies that want a way to fashion your prized badges safer than simply fastening to a necklace...

ETA: Be sure and read the entire thread if you are seriously wanting to buy converters--they are on Ebay for a lot less! Thanks RadioZTA for your info!! :)

I found some Ebay for a lot less money.

BadSquirrelBeta 10-18-2006 01:19 AM

Really--that's cool. I had just never seen anything like that. Do they have them for pins that close vertically too?

radioZTA 10-18-2006 12:28 PM

yes, in all sizes and metals. I typed in "pin converter" and looked under jewelry.

Thanks RadioZTA!

I searched the same way and actually found a gold vertical converter...$5.99 TOTAL (price and shipping) with "Buy it Now" and it is mine!!

I just thought this was a very easy way to wear a badge without investing in the disk or holders that some GLOs offer. I had one, but it came up missing after we had a contractor in our home, and just don't want to reinvest right now.

I get these from several different jewelry suppliers.....all you had to do was ask, ;)

I wonder if anyone has one for a pin like ours..you have to put the arrow at a slant.

BadSquirrelBeta 10-22-2006 01:37 PM

I remember the Sigma Chis (fraternity obviously) wore their badges at a certain angle...I can't recall any of the female GLOs other than my Pi Phi friends wearing their badges at an angle...

Wow, thank you for the heads up on this!!!

I have an antique badge (not originally mine) & I always felt I might lose it when it's pinned to my blouse. Now with this, I can wear it on a chain. :)

I saw this thread the other day and ordered one from ebay. It came today. I think I just might try it out tomorrow. :D

TrueBlue--let us know what you think!

Those pin converters are really cool! Now I'll have to do a search for one on eBay. Darn. :)

I think mine is in at the Post Office! I need to check tomorrow.

A little side note, I am sorry if at first this thread might have put some people off, since I didn't think ahead that it would appear like SPAM, which I realized a day or so after I posted it. So, for that I am sorry, I was just really excited that we can have the chance to wear our badges on a converter without a large expense :o.

It's different when it's from someone with a lot of posts instead of a new GC member :)

Alpha Xi Delta's wear their Quills at a slight angle as well. At least that is what I was taught when I got mine. :-)

You were taught correctly! It would annoy the crap out of me to see girls wearing their Quills incorrectly at chapter.

Although I'm not an Alpha Xi ... it also annoys me to see sisters wearing their pin incorrectly ... ESPECIALLY when I know they were shown the correct way.

BUT I digress. Those pin converters are very cool! Thanks for posting them

I have used the pin converters for years and they are wonderful.
