Who loves "Confessions of a Shopaholic"?
I heard so many great reviews about it, so I recently picked up a copy and ever since, I got addicted to it and loved it :)
Does anyone else loves this book also? |

You have to keep reading the others in the series though.:D |

Decent mind candy - but for some reason, I can't get into the latest one.

LOOOOOOOOOVE this series!! The last one was Shopaholic and Sister, and it leaves room open for a baby, but Sophie Kinsella hasn't written one after it! There's SO MUCH so she could do for Becky Bloomwood having a baby, I hope it's continued!!

Shopaholic and Baby is due in February 2007. Pun intended. |
I best get cracking on that Shopaholic and Sister, then!
|
I've read them all, but I did not like "Shopoholic and Sister" at all, for some reason.
The "Do Want to Know a Secret" and the "Undomestic Goddess" are both great, though. :) |
I read the first one -- to be honest, it read like something I would've written when I was 14 and even then would've realized it was crappy and predictable. To be fair, I'm kind of a snob about books, so no big deal.

I think as long as you take it what it's for: mindless chick lit, they're entertaining. Sometimes it's nice to have a break for fluffy fiction.

I love her books, they are great for reading druting the school year. After reading class texts for hours I dont care that mutch about feeding my brain with something "well writen"

woohoo! and I can see another interesting series of Shopaholic and Daugther:p ....spending loads of money on her daugther, haha. In fact, I read this newspaper article a while ago saying that parents nowadays spend tons of money on designer baby stuff. Like coach baby hats, baby clothes and such... and on another note, I found myself thinking in british accent these days...how bloody scary...:p haha |

As for the Crocodile Hunter, hes going to be sadly missed. He was a good guy and whatever Terri and her family has done with his remains, I'm sure that its honourable. A few days after he died Australia also lost another iconic figure in the form of Peter Brock (9-time Bathurst 1000 winner and 1-time Bathurst 24hour winner) in a horrific crash during a Rally Car race in Western Australia. That week was a sad one for Australia...... |
I'm going to be brave and come out and say I can't read the Shopaholic books. After reading part of the first one, I had to put it down several times. I just couldn't read about someone making such persistant terrible choices. Who thinks like that? It wasn't just about a shopping addiction either, but lying about her job/qualifications/EVERYTHING. Drove me off the wall.
/Sorry, needed to vent that. MAYBE I could be convinced otherwise, but I dunno. |

You know what, as much as I love the book itself, I do admit at one point I wanted to slap her in the face and tell her to read all those bills and do something with it and also her behaviour  but felt a lot better towards the end when she finally faced her own problems and tackle it:D |
Oh my dear Lord. I just joined the Confessions of a Shopaholic group on MySpace :o and the first thread I see is mention of 2 Sophie Kinsella movies. One for Confessions and the other for Can You Keep A Secret?(which I have also read).:D :D
Who would you cast to play Becky? Luke? ETA: Her website http://www.randomhouse.com/bantamdell/kinsella/ |

CT4 and CutieCat, I always pictured Colin Firth in the role of Luke but that could be because he's pretty much my go-to guy when I think of an actor with a British accent.
I loved Confessions of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan and the wedding one (whose name escapes me at the moment). Am I the only one who wanted to go out and buy a Denny and George scarf after reading Confessions? I was really disappointed to find out that Denny and George doesn't exist in real life! |

The wedding one was Shopaholic Ties the Knot. Read Shopaholic and Her Sister to see how much Becky buys on her honeymoon, LMAO. |

I read the first book twice (the second time this summer) and Can you keep a secret. I'm a big fan of british chik lit books. |

Hugh Grant is too old for Luke, but I always think of his style - the dark hair posh guy look. Surely, there's a second one in Britian! |
I got my copy of Shopaholic and Baby this morning from the library. :D
I am on page 3 and already laughing!! |

FYI: Shopaholic lovers. They have made a "Confessions of a Shopaholic" movie. It stars Isla Fisher.
Oh...and in the movie, Becky Bloomwood is NOT English. |
