The Bachelor: for the love of Lorenzo

The Bachelor: for the love of Lorenzo (that's not the real title; I just thought it sounded funny!)

Jeannette Pawula, a University of Iowa graduate and alumna of Delta Gamma, will be one of the contestants vying for a man's heart on the latest season of ABC's "the Bachelor" reality show.

If I had to choose between the Bachelor/Bachelorette and the Flavor or Love...

I choose the Flavor of Love.

Seriously!!! I saw a preview last night and I was SHOCKED! This show should have been given the boot looooong before Charlie O'Connell was the bachelor.

kdonline 09-26-2006 08:05 PM

How odd that he graduated from Rollins College in Florida..! I don't mean to knock Rollins & I'm proud that he's an alumnus of a Florida college, but with someone who is so "proud of his genealogy," he went THERE?!

ASUADPi 09-26-2006 10:11 PM

I totally thought this show was over....

Until I saw the commercial.

ME TOO!
They should have called it off after Byron. He was yuck (although to his credit, are he and Mary married and/or still together??)

CrimsonTide4 09-27-2006 05:18 AM

Never watched the show

Never watched the show but earlier yesterday they had a brief snippet about a Charlotte woman possibly competing.

Charlottean to vie for next 'Bachelor'

Among the women vying for a spot next week on the arm of Prince Lorenzo Borghese, the latest hunk to play "The Bachelor," will be a Charlotte woman identified by ABC only as Jessica, 25, who is employed as an assistant buyer. She is one of 25 American women and two Italian party-crashers ABC is pinning its hopes on to raise the sagging ratings of the "Bachelor" franchise, which will be set this season in Rome beginning at 9 p.m. Monday, Channel 9. Borghese, 34, is a cosmetics executive. -- MARK WASHBURN/ TV-RADIO WRITER

[hijack] I just read the Byron and Mary are to reportedly marry in November. The wedding WILL NOT be televised. Good for them not pulling a Ryan and Trista. And also good for them for staying together this long. It seems like they have been together a good two years before this wedding [end mini hijack]

valkyrie 09-27-2006 11:20 AM

I recently read that -- WTF were their names -- Sara and the guy with the awful voice whose brother is an actor -- split up.

xo_kathy 09-27-2006 11:20 AM

The Bachelor was interviewed on the morning radio station this morning. He grew up in Short Hills, NJ. He actually was pretty funny and seemed to have a pretty laid back personality.

I still won't watch the show, though! Very over it.

KDAngel 10-01-2006 04:10 PM

Will everyone please ingore this show so it can just die already?

thesweetestone 10-01-2006 04:46 PM

Being a princess is every girls dream, so I know this will be a very interesting season. I'll be watching every week.

Yay Byron and Mary!

kddani 10-02-2006 09:15 PM

well obviously the socialite will be the one to annoy the hell out of everyone this season...

_Opi_ 10-03-2006 12:16 AM

This season might not be so bad for me. I love anything Italian :-)

I really wanted Rosetta (or Rosella..whatever her name was) to make it, and I was really surprised when he didn't give her the rose. There were so many annoying females on the show talking about how they wanted to be a "princess". FYI, he's not a "real" prince.

I'm will be rooting for the afro-canadian chick, eh!!

I wanted to smack her. I don't watch this show but it caught my attention last night when she was on talking some bullshit about how she flew coach for him so he should be flattered. Ugh.

I don't know who i'm more embarassed for... her or the 34 year old drunk trashy girl from outside of Pittsburgh (as i'm ashamed to admit).

I didn't see the rose ceremony (fell asleep) but from the website it looks like the socialite got a rose... WTF????????? She's not even that cute and her voice and the way she talks is goofy...

cutie_cat_4ever 10-03-2006 10:17 PM

I actually found Lisa pretty cute (from a girl's point of view) and was glad to see her getting the first rose :)

but the tree hugging thing amused me a bit there...

CutiePie2000 10-04-2006 12:56 AM

Rosella reminds me of Gollum/Schmiegel with her buggy-outty eyes.

On another note, here is Lorenzo with his lovely repertoire of pet cosmetics:

BadSquirrelBeta 10-10-2006 12:26 AM

Lorenzo actually seems like a very nice guy.

ERICA MUST GO AWAY NOW. What was he thinking giving her that rose?? I thought he would have 86'd her after she pulled him aside and complained about not all the other girls going to college. Duh. I was sure he would give the drunk girl another chance.

AGDee 10-10-2006 06:33 AM

I thought he seemed like a pretty level headed guy when he gave Jennifer, Lisa and Sadie roses for the right reasons (enjoyed talking with them, etc). When he gave Deseree (sp?) and Jami roses, then I really started to question his sanity. There's a chasm between the types of women he chose. Half are "the marrying type" and the other half are the "have fun with for now" type.

I think the "sleeper" was passed out drunk, not just sleeping. She couldn't speak when she woke up. I'm also surprised he kept Erica. She's a trainwreck. It looks like she really loses it next week, from the previews.

In the first seasons, it was all very classy (from what I can remember) and now it's like Girls Gone Wild slightly toned down. I found myself thinking, several times, "Why am I watching this?" Then I realized, there was nothing else on...

valkyrie 10-10-2006 11:45 AM

Okay, I watched like the last ten minutes or so. What's up with the woman with the really bad yellow-blonde hair who talks really funny? Is that some kind of pretend accent?

cutiepatootie 10-10-2006 12:20 PM

this show makes my skin crawl with every passing season...ick....whoever said prior the show should of been given the boot long ago....I AGREE!

Yeah Baby! I agree...there were some girls totally slutting it up for him.

Ahhh. Had to look it up. I actually know the product well. I am not a fan of it. I think they still sell it on some home shopping network. I have seen it at trade shows and have tried it. But, I just don't think it's a really great product in comparison to the other available products on the market today. Just thought I would throw that in there.

Well, I just realized that I have met him. It was at that trade show where the pic was taken. Um, can I say he was not cute at all? I certainly would not have pictured him as the bachelor.

Yes, and all the commercials for it this week are playing her "drama" up. I don't know if her voice annoys me more than 1. Anna Nicole (but I just don't really have the heart to say anything mean about her due to her circumstances as of late) or 2. Paris Hilton (That's Hot). And, her hair reminds me of Darryl Hannah's in the movie SPLASH...but at least Darryl had an excuse--she was a mermaid.

kddani 10-16-2006 09:50 PM

Lorenzo looks like a terrible kisser... one of those guys that tries to eat your head. And it looks all slobbery.

Thank God he made the choice he did.

sdsuchelle 10-17-2006 07:47 PM

Erica has really bad extensions. :-/ But I wish she was still on the show because her comments made me laugh so hard. "Me go to bed.. me tired." hahaha

no, you're right, but most likely the fact won't be published in public. And perhaps the kid won't ever find out who's the daddy *mommy's a liar*

I thought I was hearing things...LOL. She sounded like The Incredible Hulk.

The blonde haired chic (Erica?) kept talking about how she was tired of people judging her because she's "pretty, smart, and comes from money." First of all, she's not pretty and the fact that she kept talking about this money she supposedly comes from, and the fact that Lorenzo appeared to be more on her level, makes me wonder if she's gotten used to having money yet.

cutie_cat_4ever 11-13-2006 11:04 PM

wow...I'm sort of glad that Lisa didn't get a rose  I didn't get a good feeling from her, hehe. But I was so impressed with Sadie the way how she stood up for her values. I have much respect for her and I really like her. I hope she gets the final rose.

But don't get me wrong, Jen is sweet too. ;) hard to choose...

CutiePie2000 11-14-2006 02:19 AM

My spidey senses tell me that he'll pick Sadie.

BadSquirrelBeta 11-14-2006 05:00 PM

I agree, he will pick Sadie. And that isn't a bad thing, I don't think.

valkyrie 11-15-2006 12:34 AM

Okay I finally watched this, and I didn't record the first 20 minutes, so I missed the Jen date. How did that one go? He seems like he has fun with Sadie, but I see NO chemistry.

Yes, but don't you see? Sadie is one of those "hard to get apples" where, like that saying that we all know so well on GC, he has to climb to the top of the proverbial tree to.....errr..."pluck" her. Yeah, that's it. ;)

HAHAHA OH so she's a Charlotte! OMG true classy and conservative love FOREVA!!!

And for reals? If she said "saving myself for marriage" one more time, I'da smacked her upside her goofy little head.
