Which sorority was your Rho Chi in?
Mine was an ADpi but we all thought that she was a KD. Just goes to show you, you never can be sure!
Which sorority(ies) was your Rho Chi/Recruitment Counselor/Rho Gamma etc. in? Did the girls in your group guess? |
We had a DZ and an AST.
our ruzh counselors were a phi mu and a pi phi-both were so sweet!! i don't think that any of us were able to guess.
when i was a rush counselor no one was able to guess my affiliation-they all guessed wrong. |
Mine was an Alpha Gam. She was super sweet. I had a pretty good feeling which GLO she was in (I think a lot had to do with how excited she pretended not to be when Alpha Gam kept inviting me back), but most of my rush group was off in their guesses.

Mine was an Alpha Gam...and I thought she was a Pi Phi. I was thrilled when they revealed to see she was an AGD!
Mine was a Pi Beta Phi.
My rho chi was an AXO. We don't have any kind of rho chi revealing (plus I dropped out of FR) so I didn't find out for certain until I ran into her, wearing letters, a few days after the end of rush.
When I was a rho chi, my group was convinced that I was a Sigma Kappa. They were quite surprised to learn my affiliation. |
Mine was a Sigma Kappa (yeah!) but a lot of us thought she was a Delta Zeta
mine were a tri-delta (i could have SWORN she was a DG) and an AOPi!! 2 of the girls in our group knew, and one made it a point to try to tell everyone..but we just kinda ignored it..and thought she might be just guessing like the rest of us.
I had an Alpha Chi and a ZTA. I knew the ZTA was b/c I knew her beforehand...and the Alpha Chi I could TOTALLY tell. :)
Mine was a Pi Phi but I thought she was a Kappa.
Mine was Pi Beta Phi.
Everyone knew she was Pi Phi too because Panhellenic forgot to check the Pi Phi chapter picture in the recruitment brochure and she was in the picture :) |
Mine was a Theta....and I remember having NO idea what chapter she was in!
Mine was in Kappa Delta & she was really awesome. :D
Mine was an ADPi.
My recruitment counselors were a Kappa Kappa Gamma and Pi Beta Phi. I remember both really well; the Pi Phi accidentally revealed her affiliation (which no one else in my group caught but me), but I never told.
When I was a RC, my group was constantly trying to figure out what chapter I was in. The entire group of RCs had fun that year messing with people and making them really wonder what we were. Eight of my PNMs in my group ended up joining my chapter and were disappointed on Bid Day when I flat out told them I wasn't a Gamma Phi... I had to lie since a fraternity member gave my affiliation away just before Bid Day began, and I wanted to keep it a secret until revealing! It made for a more fun Bid Day experience and some excellent connections with the new member class. |
Mine was a DG. I totally thought she was a Pi Phi!
When I was a recruitment counselor, my girls all thought I was a KD for the first few days. Scarily at the end they all thought I was an ADPi. The funniest was one who stuck to her guns the whole week and insisted that I was a KD-- she was a legacy to our chapter and her older sis was in my new member class! Not only that but the two lived together and there were photos of me in the older sister's room! Wait-- one more-- one day, I accidentally called the legacy by her sister's name. She was really surprised on Bid Day (she went ADPi like her sis) with our big reveal. You can't make this stuff up. At UCF we like to confuse the heck out of the new members. For PX reveal, we run out in the wrong jerseys when they announce it is time to learn who's who. I ran out in an Alpha Xi jersey and then changed into my letters for the real reveal. ;) |
Mine was an AGD. I still see her around sometimes.
Mine were a Zeta Tau Alpha and a Kappa Alpha Theta. They were both awesome. The ZTA ended up being a 3L at law school when I was a 1L.
I had a Gamma Phi, an Alpha Phi and a Chi O for my RhoChis---which happened to be the houses that I preffed! :)
I had a Kappa Phi Omega and a Tau Epsilon Mu. I didn't really know which one they were in. I sorta took a stab in the dark and said those two, but wrong people (meaning I called the Kappa a TEMr and the TEMr a Kappa).
When I was a PX, most people guessed or sorta knew my affiliation...although I had a couple convinced I was a Theta Nu. People thought my partner was also a Theta Nu or a Sigma Alpha Tau (Owls). She was an Owl. I sorta wish we had done a big exciting reveal, but I was the only one who sorta did it under my jacket/all secret like. |
Mine was a ZTA, Tri-Delta, Theta, and Alpha Xi...I had made a master list (though some weren't on it) because I ran across their Rho Gamma group list on Facebook before they had to make their profiles private and dis-affiliate...I had copied it and forgot all about it until like the second day of recruitment! I looked up my Rho Gam and didn't tell anyone...the funny thing is another girl in a different group who was just as excited about recruitment did the same thing.. we found out we had the same thing after recruitment:) Also I noticed I definitely guessed wrong because the Rho Gammas didn't wear any/much makeup, same t-shirts, mostly same bottoms, tennis shoes, and hair was usually up so it was really hard to see their real personalities to also be able to tell which I guess is the who idea...
My Rho Gammas are both in AOPi. One I thought was in Phi Sig but the other I could just tell that she was in AOPi.
Mine was an ADPi.
There was also another Rho Gamma whose group sat with mine in the mornings when we'd all meet before our 1st party and when we got our bid cards. Her name was adpiucf. ;) |
Mine were KD and Theta... but I could have sworn the KD was a Kappa!!!
Our rush group had 4 Rho Chis. One was Chi Omega, one was Kappa Delta, one was Alpha Xi Delta, and the other one I never found out.
Mine were an ADPi and an AGD. And when I was one, not one of my freshmen could figure out what I was. Only the two sophomores got me (and it's because one of them knew my best friend's little and the other was in the class I TAed for).
Mine were DG and AEPhi. And I guessed from about Day 2 which chapters they were in. They didn't give anything away--but their personalities fit their chapters well.
5 of us from my Rho Chi group went DG (1/4 of my pledge class!). Our DG Rho Chi was a senior when we were freshmen so it was sad to see her go--but it was great to spend time with her after recruitment (as she held back her 'wild side' until later :) ). |
mine was a ChiO, but i totally thought she was an adpi. or i at least wanted her to be.
Mine was a Tri-Delta...she was so sweet! We all found out what she was before the end of the week though - one of the girls in our group was from the same hometown as her and was friends with some of her friends, so the girl ended up telling us what our Gamma Chi was.
I can't remember what mine were.
But when I was the Rush Chair at my chapter, my dorm roomie was a Rho Chi. She was a DG but her group all thought she was a Chi O. When she came to our house she was chatting with me and after they left they said, "See, we told you we knew you were a Chi O". They were all really shocked at the reveal. Also, one of the girls from my chapter who was a Rho Chi quietly mentioned to me at a party that the she loved a bunch of girls in her group. They thought she was an XYZ. She said she was doing all she could to make them "realize" she was a Chi O b/c she wanted them to go Chi O and was afraid they were picking XYZ b/c they thought she was one. Now, she's my sister and I respect her, but I didn't want a pledge class full of her clones!;) So I sternly told her that I did NOT want her to risk us getting any sort of infraction, so I better not hear of her revealing her affiliation!!! It must have worked b/c we didn't get any of her crushes - they mostly went XYZ!!! |

Has anyone heard of a Rho Chi revealing or hinting at her affiliation to girls in her PX group that she really loves? There were some rumors about it with one PX a couple years ago at my school, but since the PNMs she supposedly told ended up joining her sorority, none of them will talk about it. |
I remember a PNM when I was a PX who just loved her PX and preffed at two chapters-- one of which the PX was a member of. These two chapters are pretty similiar. Anyway, that night when the PNMs went to go and rank their final choices, we told the PNMs if they needed to talk to us, they could. The aforementioned PNM was absolutely miserable, shaking and crying while she tried to convince her PX to reveal her affiliation. I'm not sure what happened, but I think the PX did give in or at least gave her the hint she needed. The PNM pledged the PX's chapter and became her little sis. But that's one extreme example! I think the PX's at my school did a good job of being discreet--- disaffiliation back then lasted all summer and we enjoyed playing dress up to seem to fit one stereotype or another or to have the girls guess. Of course, back then it was put a bow in your hair if you want them to think you're an XYZ or wear brown lipliner and white eyeliner to make them guess ABC. (Don't ask. It was the 90s.)

I had 2 Rho Chis (yes, that was waaay back when), one was a Tri Delta and for the life of me I can remember what group the other was from. They were really no help to me whatsoever, but the Rho Chi who was of tremendous help to me was an AGD and it was hard b/c I had fell in love with AGD during recruitment and they had cut me right before pref, that Rho Chi, helped me see it through and also help me see how outstanding Tri Sigma was (and still is :D).
My Rho Chi was a DPhiE, and came right out and said it! We all liked her, and I'm fairly certain one of our group chose them because of her.
Well I loved my Rho Gamma, but the one that I was actually closest to wasn't in my Rho Gamma group...I had met her the day before Recruitment began she works in a store I happened to go into and we just started talking and hit if off...I was disappointed she wasn't my Rho Gamma, but that didn't stop me from talking to her about my decisions and such...She was the one I told first when I had been cut...I knew she what she was the first say I met her when she accidentally gave a hint about a stone monument thing in front of her house and I knew right away, although she wouldn't admit it to me until Pref night and I had been cut from her chapter since Day 2... Now she is back with her wonderful chapter who took a good friend of mine--Alpha Xi Delta (the friend is JessXica). I haven't talked to her since the end of recruitment, but I still have great respect for her and think she is amazing!

Slight hijack...
A few folks have mentioned the idea of PNMs guessing their PX's affiliation and trying to join the sorority they think their PX is in because they like her. When I did my PX training, we did some role-playing where someone would portray a PNM with a particular question or issue, and the PX had to advise her. One of the scenarios I got was a "PNM" who wanted to join AEPhi because she was convinced that I was one and she wanted to be my sister. My response was, "Well, you have a 1 in 17 chance of being right about my affiliation. And even if you are right, I'd just be one sister among many. Think about all the affiliated sisters you've met, in each sorority. You should feel at home with the whole group, not just one or two people." (Y'know, come to think of it, a number of my PNMs did go Sigma Kappa...) |
I had two. Kappa Kappa Gamma and I think, Kappa Alpha Theta.
