Question to all Sorority members
Out of curiosity, how many members have a brand or would like to to have one?
|
Speaking as an NPC girl (it said ALL sorority members) I would never ever ever in a million years want one. The pain, the chance of infection, and I personally think that they are not attractive at all.
|
No. I won't even get a tatoo or pierce my ears more than once. Call me a wussy if you must..........
|
I'm very pro-body mod, but I'd not get a brand. Personally, good practicioners are very few and far between, and if I'm getting any sort of mod (be it ink, piercing or whatever), I want a professional with a good solid portfolio of work to do it. Not that I don't love my sisters, but I'd not want either of them to be holding a hot poker to any part of my body.
|
Definitely would not want one.
|
I don't want my letters ever associated with something painful. They're worth more than that. Plus we have rules about what you can do while wearing letters. How would someone drink at a bar with their letters branded?
NPC POV, but no way in hell. |

LOL...you don't even drink DF. I would never brand my letters. I don't think I would even tattoo my letters. |

But hello.. OW... no fun. /btw, we're the annoying ones |
No way. I would never get a tattoo or brand of anything, let alone sorority letters.
|
as an old broad, i have no desire to get one; however when i was young and dumb i considered it.
two older girls in my chapter have small brands (they were seniors when i was a freshman), but no one from my generation has them... but several from my line and later years have tatoos of letters or symbols "inside" other artwork. |
Um...ow.
Tattoos hurt a little, but I can't imagine the pain of a brand. I'm very pro body-mod too. |
brand....
burning myself? ouch! Translation: HELL TO THE NO! |
GROSSSSSSS....
I can't imagine doing that, especially since scarring can be so erratic, it would be hard to say what a brand would actually end up looking like after it fully healed. Add that to the fact that burns are so horribly painful and prone to infection, I would never ever ever get one. I heard there was a porn star with her sorority letters tattooed on her butt...I think she's a Tri-Sigma? I don't think I'd be too pleased if I were a member of Tri-Sigma nationals!!! :D |

Why liken yourself to cattle?
Have many tattoos but would never get my letters inked. |
Tattoos are great, but brands are fugly.
|
Umm I'm in a MGLO and there's no way in hell I would get a brand regardless of the organization. That's just absurd to me!

I'll pass. Thanks. :p
A couple of my sisters did have little heart or dove tattoos, but I think even the most liberal among them would draw the line somewhere before branding. |

During my pledge process I had an unfortunate hot glue accident and *branded* the inside of my ankle  Talk about pain!!!! |
Brands are trashy.
|
I'm with the rest of y'all on this. Brands are for cattle, not people.
Even if I liked them, I wouldn't get one - my family tends towards keloids. |
Brands Why?
Witnessed Branding,
Not a pretty pic ! : Smelled like Bacon! Too Cute to lower myself to cattle;) Birdie82 |

I have a small violet tat on my ankle, but i got it mostly because the violet (while it was Sigma's flower) was my grandma's favorite flower and we were very close. I am pretty pro inking and mods, but I draw the line at thinking of branding. It just seems like a bad idea to me. |
One AXiD at my school had a tattoo of TFJ and her family symbol, a ladybug, on her shoulder. It seemed kinda trashy to me... I dunno.
I've briefly thought about a tattoo with my letters but I couldn't think of a way that I would ever want my grandkids to see. Does that make sense? hehehe. |
I have an ADPi tattoo. I'd have to seriously think a/b a brand though...
|
Ohmigosh, no way! I've never seen a woman with a GLO brand (or any other brand, for that matter)...I thought only guys did that.
|
Two close friends of mine (NPHC) have them, and I was present when they got them done. One of them has more than one. I love my friends dearly, but those brands? Not so much. Plus, the way they were done (technique/location) just didn't seem like a fitting tribute to their sorority.
