Sometimes Us Guys forget these things!:o

Recruitment is getting so crazy and changing at many Colleges, it is hard to keep up with!

We at Pittsburg State Un. do not have Formal any more so it is open season, but not sure what it is worth when iot comes to recruitment?

Tom Earp 09-09-2006 03:04 PM

Hm, interesting question?

As of right now, neither will be partcipating because they're on suspension. That may change between now and recruitment beginning though.

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

Delta Sigma Phi
Sigma Tau Gamma

Informal rush for fall extends for another couple weeks yet. All three fraternities are working really hard at getting quality guys in.

I'm hoping for a good recruitment season for all three fraternities. We lost TKE last spring, though SAE was fortunately there to keep us at three.

Talked to the chapter advisor at Arkansas State last night. Sigma Chi got 44 pledges - a record for our chapter. And, he assured me, we did not go for numbers. The chapter went for guys that fit the Jordan Standard.

Twenty-one fraternities.

Phi Delt 45
Delt Tau Delta 45

Phi Sigma Kappa: don't know numbers but a big surprise. Everyone says they got a great pledge class.
Sigma Phi Epsilon: excellent class but not great numbers.

Tom Earp 09-20-2006 04:52 PM

WOW, these new classes are bigger than many chapters around the country!

Thanks, always interesting to see who is doing what!:)

Wisconsin-La Crosse Delta Sigma Phi Update

We're starting a new tradition this year with a Bid Night Dinner and are going to be handing out 11 bids to high quality guys. There's every reason to believe we'll land all 11 and there's a few more guys we might pick up before Sunday, when our fall rush closes.

Even if it's just those initial 11, that's our biggest pledge class in years and the first time we've broken double digits since Fall '97 (ironically the semester I would've pledged, had I gone to UW-L out of high school).

An incredible rebound from a dry period we had for a few years and it ensures that we'll stay strong, despite losing 7 guys to graduation this fall and spring.

UW-La Crosse Delta Sigma Phi Final Fall Numbers

New Pledges: 7

We pinned them last night and it was very good times. Although we would've liked the double digits we thought we were going to get, 7 is still one of our largest classes in recent memory.

I'll try and get the numbers for the other two fraternities when I can.

LaneSig 09-25-2006 04:19 PM

Congratulations on your 7 new members.

Good Job.

Jestor 10-03-2006 12:44 AM

Thanks LaneSig and sigtau305. :)

sigtau305, you'll be happy to know that here at UW-La Crosse, Sigma Tau Gamma led the fraternities in new pledge class size with 10 members this fall.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon I still haven't heard about, though.

GV Spi 10-04-2006 03:15 AM

Grand Valley State University

"Formal Recruitment" lasted from September 4th through October 6th. Hardly formal though. The only aspect really qualifying it as formal is bid acceptance on the 6th. : - / IFC's VP of Recruitment messed up big time.

Continuous open bidding is highly encouraged on our campus though only a couple chapters utilize it (mine being one of them).

Fraternities:

Alpha Sigma Phi
Delta Sigma Phi
Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sigma Pi
Theta Chi

We've lost two chapters in the past four years. TKE due to disciplinary reasons and Lambda Chi Alpha finally lost their three year battle with their nationals to keep their charter (they lost it for low numbers. They had eight members last year. Four graduated).

LOVEinZTA 10-08-2006 08:05 PM

haha so maybe a little late but...

The University of Texas at Austin had recruitment at the very end of August:

ACACIA
Alpha Epsilon Pi
Alpha Tau Omega
Beta Theta Pi
Chi Phi
Delta Chi
Delta Sigma Phi
Delta Tau Delta
Kappa Sigma
Lambda Chi Alpha
Phi Delta Theta
Phi Gamma Delta
Phi Kappa Theta
Pi Kappa Alpha
Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Sigma Alpha Mu
Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sigma Pi
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Theta Chi
Zeta Beta Tau

I also know that there is a Phi Kappa Psi (cancelled through Feb 2007), a Delta Kappa Epsilon, and a Kappa Alpha chapter who all took pledges this semester (as some of my friends were among them) but aren't listed. Could someone explain to me how exactly that works?

sigtau305 10-11-2006 11:18 AM

We have a total of four pledges.

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 09:05 AM.
