Eyebrows?
Ladies, I have an eyebrow problem. I have wavy hair - which means I also have wavy eyebrows, and they grow all over the place. I am super anal about my eyebrows looking nice and neat, but it is pretty much impossible with what I've been given.
So in short, I went a little crazy with the plucking. They are nice and neat now, but they're also nearly non-existant and I sort of look like an alien. Any suggestions for how to grow them out without looking awful in the process? Is there any way to sort of plump them up with a pencil or something? Help! |

You can use brow gel or clear mascara to keep them under control.

The Natural Brow Shaper here (scroll down a bit) is the shit. I've never used it to make my eyebrows more "plump," but I think it might work. I seriously love this -- although I always use an eyebrow brush to blend it after applying, so it's more subtle.

I have wavy brows too and I was so happy when the plucked-to-hell look was in style-- looking back, it was a bit scary looking... pencil them in until they grow back and then keep them in line with a brow gel-- or you can spray a little hairspray/apply a fine amt of vaseline to a brow brush and keep them in place.

Bare Minerals has a great brow kit with powder, brush and gel. Try Sephora or QVC (believe it or not).

I could use some help in the eyebrow department as well. My brows are on the fuller side, and I keep them tame with twizzers. However, I've been wearing my hair differently, and my brows seems oddly...um...noticeable. I'm really afraid to get waxed because I have VERY sensitive skin. I had a facial once, and my skin burned for days. Any ideas?

I had my eyebrows waxed once and HATED IT. HATED. |
Do you trim them? Getting them to shorter lengths could help prevent the wavy look. That along with clear mascara should do the trick...

I ended up buying a little eyebrow kit from Sephora - hope it helps. |
mine are a a little hard to work with at times....I always feel one arch looks better or higher than the other. I get mine threaded....I've done the wax thing and didn't like the pain, plus it didn't last very long. With the threading...its a little uncomfortable under the brow, but it lasts much longer IMO.

I waxed my own eyebrows at home a couple of years ago. BIG mistake. I accidently took off the outer part of the brows and ended up looking like Mr. Spock. \ / (they looked something like this for about two months. Bizarre) |
I take the lazy way out and shave mine. I was graced with my dad's bushy eyebrows, and plucking hurts too much and I can't find a good person to wax them, so I just get those little eyebrow razors from Wal-Mart and do 'em myself. I do have to do it about once a week, but it takes all of 30 seconds.

I was one of those girls too. I took a chance at Aveda and have never looked back. I even use Retinoid derivatives and glycolic a lot (meaning lots of fresh skin that doesn't need exfoliation). Usually, they won't let you wax if you use them the same day you wax. Even with Aveda, I have NEVER had a problem. With others, I lost chunks of skin off my lids- and I always went to a reputable salon. I couldn't recommend Aveda more. |

And to add more fun to it, it was 6 weeks before my wedding.
Neosporin pain became my best friend. |

I was! But, it all worked out in the end. Skin grows back fairly quickly.

Lately I use Mary Kay's Eye Primer first, then tab some of Maybelline's dark brown eyebrow powder with an eyeliner brush & apply. The eye primer keeps the powder on all day, and the powder is a perfect match for my eyebrows. Good luck :) |
