Recruitment Updates
Hi all-
i thought i would start a thread about how recruitment is going. Are you helping out a chapter during rush? which one? How has each day gone? Unfortunately, i am living far away from any Gamma Phi chapters now so i won't be helping any chapters :( although i did volunteer to be an advisor for panhell where i am now but i haven't heard back about that yet. i would love to hear any updates about our chapters if you can share. Best of luck to all of our chapters during recruitment! |
Ours out here haven't started yet. WSU should be starting soon.

I just saw a link to the Auburn Univ. results on another thread and according to the list of New Members posted on the Auburn University website, the Gamma Phi chapter has 63 new members. Quota was 58 and they are the largest new member class for Fall 2006 out of all 16 sororities on campus.
What an excellent job they must have done during recruitment! I am very happy for them! :) |
WOW. Go Auburn Gamma Phi's!:)
i'm so pleased for them. thanks for the update. |
The Zeta Sigma Chapter at the University of South Carolina has 61 new members!!

Delta Lambda (UC Riverside) doesn't start recruitment until October, but things are looking good so far. Panhellenic has 56 women registered (this time last year there were only 3), which is 1/3 of how many registrations we had last year. It can only get better from here. :)

Tomorrow is Bid Day for Florida Tech and the sisters of the Delta Sigma chapter have done a fabulous job during recruitment. Our campus has a small Greek Community, so the Fall Recruitment is a partially structured, informal one. There are three sororities on campus and aside from the initial "Fraternity & Sorority Introduction" Party that was held on the residence quad a week before recruitment started, each sorority hosts 2 parties during the week of Sept. 2-8, at a different time or day of the week. Gamma Phi Beta had a great turnout and each sorority is able to issue the number of bids based on their current membership numbers in relation to total, if they desire. (Total on campus is 45). Bids are issued tomorrow at 12:00 noon!

Bid Day- Jacksonville University
the Epsilon Zeta chapter of Gamma Phi has welcomed 6 lovely ladies into our home today! Quota was 9 with 36 women going through recruitment, and we're aiming to go well above quota through COR bidding this week!
love in TTKE, Tamara |
Gamma Omega is holding recruitment events right now, as is Gamma Gamma.
Kappa and Gamma Pi both have formal recruitment this week. I'll post results when I know them from all the chapters. :D |
Beta Lambda at San Diego State University is currently in progress with formal recruitment. I'm going to be helping tonight and Sunday - Bid Day is Tuesday.
SDSU's Greek Life Office has announced that a record breaking number of women have signed up for Panhellenic recruitment this year. As of Thursday, I believe we had something in the range of 745 women which surpasses the record of 727 set in like 1989 or something. .....Kelly :) |
crash...SCREECH!
Alpha Lambda chapter at University of British Columbia made quota and got 18 new members Congrats /End crash |
woo-hoo!!! :D
U of Toronto (Alpha Alpha chapter) has finished rush. and what a successful rush it was!! quota was 7 with 5/7 groups getting quota. i am proud to share that we matched FIRST plus got the only quota addition!! so we have 8 new members. we were the #1 choice for all of the members we got. i believe this may be the first time we've matched 1st in about 5 years. i am so thrilled for my chapter. (as if you can't tell!! lol.) (more stats are in the post i wrote in the fall 2006 recruitment results thread). Bid day is today. |
I just got home from Cozumel, and had an e-mail with this:
"Well recruitment is over! And we (Southeast Missouri State, Zeta Delta founded in 1994) now have 26 new girls which brings our house total to 81. Our girls are so excited because we are now the third biggest chapter on our campus!!! " Southeast only has 6 NPC groups total, but has some very very strong chapters! |
Beta Lambda chapter at San Diego State University took quota of 69! This has been a record breaking year for SDSU's Greek system!

Carol - that's great! How did it go?
Zeta Lambda got quota plus 2 for a total of 24 amazing women. we have an alum/collegiate dress up tea party tomorrow, so I should meet more of them. |
Recruitment went VERY well at UCR. There were 242 women registered when we started, but only 161 actually came to Open House... we're trying to figure out why.
Quota was 21 and Gamma Phi Beta took quota plus 1 (total of 22) through formal, and have already COB'd 3 women, making them one away from house total (which will be filled by the end of this week likely). Here's the other chapter results: Alpha Chi Omega - 24 Delta Gamma - 24 Kappa Kappa Gamma - 13 Pi Beta Phi - 22 Sigma Kappa - 21 |
Gamma Epsilon got 8 new members from COR. They are now on FALL break!!!

Formal pledging is tommorrow night at 7! |
Gamma Omega took 4 new members this year, deciding to go for quality over quantity. :D (For those not familiar, they are the only NPC on campus and so they don't do the type of recruitment most of y'all do.)
In other news, they LOVED their CLC this year and said it was the best CLC visit they have ever had, and they've resolved some issues with the house, which is great. AND they took second place in Homecoming! :D |
Epsilon Lambda at Alabama is initiating 47 women this week! COB and snap bidding were very successful for the chapter this year after having 31 women on the lawn on Bid Day.
I am so proud of the chapter! I'm excited to get a place on the advisory board starting in January -- not sure if I'll be doing AVP or something else, but we'll see! |

That is wonderful for them! |
