White gold and yellow gold?

Which do you prefer? Do you only wear one or the other or do you mix? Thoughts?

Drolefille 08-04-2006 03:35 PM

They can be cute mixed, and I have some white/yellow or yellow/silver mixes but I prefer white gold or silver to yellow almost univerally.

I was thrilled when I learned I could get my badge in white gold :)

White gold. I don't look good in yellow gold unless it's a small piece of jewerly.

mu_agd 08-04-2006 03:42 PM

White. I hate yellow gold.

AlphaFrog 08-04-2006 03:43 PM

I hate yellow & white gold together. However, I do end up usually wearing them both together because my wedding band is white gold, and my husband has this thing about buying me yellow gold. I've tried to convince him that I'd rather have white gold, but he thinks yellow is prettier.

kddani 08-04-2006 03:44 PM

White gold looks much better with my coloring than yellow gold.

I HATE the two together. I also hate pieces made of a mix of tri-color gold- yellow, white and coppery colored gold.

I wear yellow gold earrings because I can't wear silver in my ears. I've just been wearing yellow gold for so long I never considered to switch to white gold. I wish I could so I would wear more silver earrings & necklaces.

valkyrie 08-04-2006 03:52 PM

I almost always wear silver/white gold. Sometimes, I'll wear yellow gold because I have some cool ass stuff that came from my grandparents. I think yellow gold jewelry can be good if it's big and/or funky-quirky and worn with, like, a plain white tank or something. I would never, ever, ever mix the two.

Rollergirl2001 08-04-2006 04:01 PM

Yellow gold, because I'm allergic to silver. I breakout wearing silver jewelry, unless if it's hypoallergenic. I also like rose gold.

I have always love White Gold as My original badge is white gold with Saphires but the one I wear now is White Gold and Pearls in the Creseant and 3 Shaphires with 8 Diamonds.

But, I do love the Yellow gold with Pearls in Creseant and 3 Rubys and 8 Opals.

Oh, both have Guards in correct colors so I do not lose either one.

Get Guards when available!:)

White gold...definitely. My badge is even white gold :)

Rio_Kohitsuji 08-04-2006 09:31 PM

I wear white gold, but I do have some small yellow pieces that I break out on certain occasions. Now, my e-ring was made with white and yellow (which I wanted) so it's color is "white" but is a much warmer color, not as chrome-like as some white gold can get.

Jill1228 08-04-2006 10:42 PM

Yellow gold looks better against my skin

honeychile 08-04-2006 10:43 PM

I prefer to wear yellow gold, as it just looks better than white gold or silver on me. However, unless I'm going somewhere terribly special, I wear a necklace of yellow, white, and rose gold. It was the last thing my daddy gave me before he died, and I treasure it.

_Opi_ 08-04-2006 10:46 PM

I hate gold. However, I do occassionally wear my mother's gold and sapphire ring. It has sentimental value.

blueangel 08-04-2006 11:00 PM

I prefer yellow gold. I do like white gold too (although not as much) and prefer it over silver mainly because it doesn't tarnish.

mulattogyrl 08-05-2006 12:15 AM

I prefer yellow gold. I never really cared for white gold or silver.

Yellow *anything* looks awful with my skin tone. I don't wear yellow gold, or even gold metallics at all (like for fabrics, etc.). White gold all the way :)

That is interesting?

White Gold is usually a little more expensive and few have them from what I have seen of Badges.

Why white gold cost more is beyond Me as it is cheaper to produce.:)

I do not understand body color tones as a Badge is usually only @ 1/2 in. big anyway.
