How much are your dues at your chapter?

I'm an active of SMU's SigEp chapter (TX Y) and our dues are 850 for each semester.

Dues

When you get your bid at Missouri Zeta it is a $220 initiation fee and $65 if you live on campus per month, if you move off campus its $70 a month

MO Kappa Dues

Currently at MO Kappa new member dues are $350 (so the chapter keeps $75 and the rest goes to nationals for regirstration) and afterwards it is $90 a month.

At Cal Eta, its $250 for live-ins and $350 live-outs.

yangstar 05-17-2007 12:23 AM

At Cal Rho it's $250 a quarter, $350 for first quarter in [to cover national registration]

LA Beta social is $450 per semester, parlor is $625 and meals are $650.

Totals out at $1725 per semester.

I should note that it was $250 social, $350 parlor, and $625 meals ($1225/sem) in Fall 2004 when I pledged so we've come up $500 in three years. We're trying to get to $2000/semester ($600 social, $750 parlor, $650 meals) by 2010, which should put us at about the highest at LSU. We are a relatively new chapter at LSU (i.e. post-WWII) and so we fight to stay over 100 people (4th behind 125, 134, 147) so we want to have enough money to keep up. I've heard UGA has $950?

UT_SigEpFLZ 09-10-2007 02:22 PM

Our initial dues for new brothers is $400 but after that each semester is $350.

scottydosnntkno 04-07-2008 09:34 PM

Mi Theta is 300/year for the first year and 400/year for everyone else

we work every event held at Ford Field which brings in $17-$25000 a year to keep our dues down

scottydosnntkno 04-07-2008 09:35 PM

also i forgot to add that the tips we get are divided by the people who work the games(usually about 20) and is put into our SigEp account to be used for whatever we want. This year i only payed about 30 bucks after all my tip money

pshsx1 12-28-2008 09:45 PM

MI Theta is now $500 a year. New members still only pay $300 their first year.

I couldn't imagine paying $4000 a year. I thought my school's housing cost was crazy but it's $1000 below that.
Then again, your chapter is massive.

Texas Alpha is a little over 2500 a semster, including food. That doesn't include misc fees for t-shirts, trips, etc, which is about an extra 600 or so in the fall.

That's what I'm talking about.

Dues at Tennessee Kappa are $70/month for the school year, $50/month during the summer, and $275 when you are initiated (300 if during formal rush). So your first year is around $1100 and after that it's $800. We are probably going to raise dues soon though.

pshsx1 09-28-2009 03:49 PM

Our dues just went up to $300 for this semester.

cahlersmeyer 09-29-2009 03:29 PM

social, $425/semester
then rent if you live in, $1800/semester (no cook)
if you don't then you pay social and parlor, $425+$275/semester

fumblerooski 06-02-2010 12:14 AM

Ours are 275 for the first semester that you join. Then you have a choice for every semester after that: 600 up front for the whole year or 325 payed at the beginning of each semester

pshsx1 06-02-2010 02:14 AM

My chapter's dues changed again.

Starting Fall 2010:

New Members: $275 up front for the first semester, $300 from every semester after (parlor fee added after first full year of membership)
Older Members: $300 per semester with a $25 parlor fee

TNK274 08-03-2010 01:00 AM

pshx: So your new mems pay their lifetime fee the first semester but no regular dues until the next?

pshsx1 08-03-2010 01:57 AM

Right. It's just to ensure that we don't lose any money on them. Initially, we were going to make them pay $350 up front, but we don't want to scare them off or have them defect because of high dues.

TNK274 08-30-2010 03:00 AM

That's sound thinking. I would like for us to be able to do something like that, unfortunately we make them pay

the $275 lifetime fee
$40 their first month-goes to Greek Life as registration fee
Dues are $80/month August-May and $50/month for June and July

A nice total of $1215 for your first year :(

It's always the $315 up front that causes problems-guys usually feel overwhelmed by the number...The other campus fraternities either charge a small pledge fee $50-$80 or nothing at all.

No one ever said being different was easy!
