DMX Soul of a Man

Am I the only one who is certain that DMX will replace Bobby Brown as Reality TV King of Crack?

I couldn't believe how crackish he was behaving on this show.

Dionysus 07-12-2006 11:07 PM

Oh man, I didn't know that this nut had a tv show. I have to see this train wreck!!

ZetaStorm 07-13-2006 12:26 AM

I thought that I was the only one thinking this. I hate his commercial for that show. Over here... 'These are the hands that want to wrap around his neck and shut him up!'
What is he talking about? Is he trying to be deep  BET has lost their minds.

Gods Ivy 07-13-2006 10:14 AM

Soul of a Man

I think DMX is in a stuggle for his spirit to either do crack or serve the Lord. He has some deep things to say but then follows up to get high. I think he is in a struggle. Spiritual Warfare.

I agree. What the heck was he doing in that convenience store?? Ya'll see him go make those eggs in the microwave like he was at home? They need to tell him to leave the drugs alone.

You are right Soror! That show is an absolute train reck! We all know that he was upstairs "getting high" when he had everyone waiting for him to report to jail! Total "crack-head behavior"! And at his "going away" dinner, when threw the glass to the floor

Gods Ivy 07-13-2006 01:45 PM

Ok so the show started already! How many episodes have they shown so far? I have only seen the previews but you all are making me what to see it.

It just started last night, so you haven't missed anything.

I watched it, but he was talking so fast I couldn't understand what the heck he was saying. And I was wondering what was up with him in the convenience store, cooking eggs sandwiches in the microwave and asking folks if they wanted some bazooka joe (you get gum & a joke  )

WOW that is too much. Yeah DMX is really on some different stuff. I pray on day he gets his life together.

ZetaStorm 07-14-2006 12:10 AM

I didn't know the show had started. Based on what I'm reading it's as bad as I thought that it would be. I don't think I'll be watching yet another black man self destruct on national TV. If they give Michael Jackson a reality show I'm going to be DONE!

Sophist08edLady 07-14-2006 08:11 AM

It will be very interesting to see how the show developes....
Will X have some type of spiritual revelation after detoxing in jail?
Will his wife and children have a reality check while he's gone?
What about his fianances? During the show he alluded to fianancial problems...will they be resolved with his new album?

I will def. continue to watch with the hopes that some type of moral lesson will be exposed from all of this. Especially since Tracy Edmunds is producing the project. I am hoping that she will not let yet another African American man totally kill the community in front of millions of viewers.

This made me H.O.L.L.A.R.:D :D

I agree that some of his lyrics are deep, but I think that's why he's also so scary. How can you be deep and conscious of what's going on around you and still be a hot mess like that? lol

I listen to his music and I agree he is a good lyricist and can be quite thought provoking....however....He has MAD issues. But it appears that many musical greats do...Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, R. Kelly...just to name a few.

I feel what you're saying as well as mulattogyrl. He does have issues that he is well aware of. He wants to do better, yet it is hard for him to overcome something he is so used to. Give him some time. The latest song he has out is quite different showing that he wants to do better. Time will tell. Mary J turned her life around. I love/heart Mary. Maybe DMX will do the same. Lord give him a sign.

Sophist08edLady 07-16-2006 12:40 PM

I do hope that he will be able to turn his life around. I just wonder why (and this goes for Bobby and Whitney too) would you want to put all your business on television in front of MILLIONS of viewers. I mean, do we really need to see yet another member of the Black community who is at a bad point in their life on national television? Aren't we portrayed negatively enough on the big screen and on television! I just hope that the show ends in triumph and does not end like "Being Bobby Brown". Really these portrayals are killing the Black community

I agree totally with that.

nonchalant 07-19-2006 09:28 PM

OMG!!! I just saw the episode, and I am appalled. I did not know he was off the chain like that. He was very bootleg for eating and cooking in the convenient store. I guess he felt he needed to take advantage of it being convenient. He's talking about Lord help him, yet you have to want to help yourself first. He needs to think about family first if he doesn't want to care for himself. I'll hold him down. His ugly wife aint hittin on nothin. I'll change his ways. T can keep the kids though, lol. I bet he can tear some **meow** up. Ooooh Weee!!

RedefinedDiva 07-19-2006 09:45 PM

I am confused by this show.

I'll elaborate once I figure out what it is I want to say. Just know that I'm confused...

DSTdimepiece 07-20-2006 09:04 AM

last night, why was he about to cry when his car was out of gas in the garage. They were going to but some in...Buddy had to tell him it's alright, don't let it get you down.

He needs meds pronto

LMAO!! I have to see this show. I really do.

RedefinedDiva 07-20-2006 11:29 AM

What do they want us to get from this show?

This show is like a Shakespearean play. There's some acting/reality going on, then all of a sudden, DMX breaks off into a soliloquy. He's starts praying and talking in riddles.... I just don't understand.

From what I've read, I think he is bipolar, so maybe he really does need his meds. Poor thing.

I still don't see why there is a thought to DMX being an Alpha. He is performing at one of the centennial events and that is all I know.

Sophist08edLady 07-24-2006 11:46 AM

Thank you Soror for clarifying that. After reading the thread again, I see where confusion started.

black_princess 08-07-2006 12:02 PM

just a question . . . .

Is it just me . . .or is anyone else kind of tired of DMX's whole tortured soul routine too?
