Project Runway- Season 3

...starts tonight on Bravo at 9p.m. CST!!! "are you in...or are you out?"

f8nacn 07-12-2006 09:08 PM

Wow I didn't know that was coming on tonight...boo...watching three programs at once...

1browngirl 07-12-2006 09:29 PM

I forgot about this and I'm trying to watch this, the Keyshia Cole & DMX reality shows on BET.

RedefinedDiva 07-12-2006 10:44 PM

^^^ Dang, I forget about them!! I missed them. I am trying to watch PR and Bridezillas. I need TiVo....

SKEEphistAKAte 07-12-2006 11:55 PM

PR is my favorite. I watched the marathon this weekend. I can't wait to see who is going to sabotage somebody and get kicked off.

F8ful_n_durance 07-13-2006 09:52 AM

I saw it last night. It was good. PR is SOOO addictive. I cannot wait until next week. Did anyone else watch it?

For some reason I like Malan; he laughs like an evil scientist. :D
Keith Michael's dress was fire! It was a gorgeous blue with beaded necklaces and red buttons down the back...I would rock it! Michael Knight's dress was interesting and I could not believe he made it out of coffee filters. This group (with the exception of the wickety-wack that is Vincent) appear to be quite talented.

Malan's voice and laugh reminds me of Stewie from Family Guy.

Keith's dress was fire and his model worked it!

I think Vincent should have been the one to voted off. They knew that dress was not cute. And that hat...

jessikay1922 07-17-2006 03:55 PM

Keith's Dress

So, I liked it, and all.... BUT, I don't think that he really was that innovative.... I can see why he did not want to leave the mat on it, but he could have at least left the rings as the straps.

On another note... LOVED Michael's dress! I was irritated he did not make the top 3!

LOL, I knew Vincent was going home for making that dress and hat.

Keith's dress was nice, but I didn't think it was innovative either. I guess that part comes in when you consider the materials he used.

I liked Michael's dress as well, but... I'mma need him to take the grillz (or whatever that is) out of his mouth.

Michael has a "grill" 'cause it looks like only one tooth is covered, I don't think he had enough money to get "grillz." LOL

I appreciated Keith's explanation for why he did what he did. His dress was "Scarlett O' Hara" vs. Carole Burnett playing Scarlett O'Hara. He did not want to play up the kitsch factor and instead made a beautiful, tailored (not to mention wearable) garment.

Now Vincent...*sigh*...that was a fashion abomination. I'm lightweight scared to see what his breakdown will look like because you know he's one top-stitch away from losing it.

Confucius 07-17-2006 09:22 PM

I am really excited about the third season (and the fact it is on NBC....I am a broke sista...I had to break it down to basic cable).

However, I noticed that some of these cat's egos are wwwaaaayyyyy too big. They were completely out of order when they tore up their rooms!

Can't wait for next week's show.

f8nacn 07-17-2006 09:38 PM

Wasn't that apart of their assignment though for the week? I missed the instruction portion so that's why I'm asking.

Yes, they were supposed to use things in ther apartment - but I think they took it too the extreme - just taking stuff so no one else would get it.

MeezDiscreet 07-24-2006 12:24 PM

THE Dress

Also, I kind of find myself endeared to the "weird" people so i kinda like vincent--not his designs, just him. i loved the way he didn't let angela make it with that foolishness

i also liked malan. i almost cried when he gave his goodbye speech.

MeezDiscreet 07-24-2006 12:33 PM

a better look:

Miss Universe was on last night and Tara Conner had the dress that was on Episode 2...it looked fantastic on her...and the guy from Queer Eye announced that it was from Project Runway...

I watched the episode last night when it aired on NBC. That was a beautiful dress! Kayne did his thing! (when I first glanced at the screen I thought it said his name was KANYE LOL  )

serenity_24 07-25-2006 11:16 AM

The dress was beautiful but I think she downplayed it with her hairstyle. She should have had something more regal like an updo or something other than that saturday-at-the-mall look.

I would have to agree...by wearing her hair down she took away from the dress.

Yeah, like the model did on the show...

Why did I get light-weight choked up over Malan leaving? :o :( I will miss his evil villain laugh. :(

RedefinedDiva 07-26-2006 10:17 PM

I CAN NOT WAIT to see who will be kicked off next week (and what for)!!!! I just hope it isn't Michael.... I am putting my money on Vincent or Keith. They both look like they can be loose cannons.

WTH is that ensemble that Angela made? What does Shaggy.... um, Bradley have in mind? He's a weirdo. Is he really serious about not making anything? He needs to GO!!!! I HATE when people get on these shows and don't give their all. There are folks out there that would give their left leg to be on these shows, in hopes of getting their big break. Either GO HARD or GO HOME... or don't come at all!!

ETA: Ok, now I know why I am in law school and not in the fashion industry! I thought Bradley's outfit looked like hot glazed garbage and they LOVED it!!! WTF?!

MeezDiscreet 07-26-2006 10:58 PM

LMAO @ "hot glazed garbage"

i think they definitely made the WRONG decision this week

DEFINITELY!! Angela has consistently been in the bottom and her outfit tonight was a mess and a half. An administrator at a school in France planning a party for Pattycake? WTF? Trust me, if I EVER went to my kid's school and ANYBODY was dressed like that, after I call the authorities, I would pull my kid out of there. That skirt was the same thing she had on for the first episode. SHE. MUST. GO....NOW!

f8nacn 07-26-2006 11:59 PM

Watching the repeat now...

She didn't have confidence in her self...glad she's gone.

i thought for sure angela was going home this week. ivanka trump had it right when she said the model looked like a hooker/prostitute in that get up. WTF was she thinking?

i agree with RD about Bradley. How do you just give up and say you're not going to do anything? they should've reviewed the tapes and sent him packing just for that comment.

and...i think old dude, can't remember his name but he didn't make an outfit for the dog, is trying to be another santino.

i can't wait to see what happens next week and see who's asked to leave the show.

divainred 07-27-2006 12:26 PM

Yeah, but I think we also have to keep in mind that they have to keep people on the show that they know is going to create constant drama (dude with all of the tattoos) or have us tuning in to see when they will finally kick their butt off (Angela) cause they don't show any real talent.

I was watching an episode on VH1 about the real secrets behind reality tv (I admit it :) ) and other reality show stars said that they had to fill out tons of quizes and personality tests about themselves. Then the shows have psychologists come in and tell them who is most likely to clash, create drama, etc. And that's who they keep around for ratings. So, Angela & Bradley may stay on until they choose the final 3.

Steeltrap 07-27-2006 02:35 PM

I like Michael, but when it comes to personal style, Laura kills it. Did you see the Hermes White Bus handbag she was rocking when Tim brought the doggies out to the contestants? Even if she doesn't win, I think she could have a career because there are older women who would rock the runway suit.

whiteandblack 07-27-2006 07:57 PM

pertaining to angela's dress, on the mannequin it did look bizarre. Its only saving grace, though, was how the model ROCKED it. certainly angela should have chosen a different story...I believe they made the right auf'd decision. that designer played it too safe with that slip of a dress.

RedefinedDiva 08-02-2006 10:18 PM

I see who's going home and why.... He makes me sick anyway. I'll be glad to see him go!

whiteandblack 08-02-2006 11:15 PM

angela redeemed herself!

f8nacn 08-02-2006 11:42 PM

What he did was just idiotic...he knew beforehand if he got caught, what would happen...I do wonder what the conversation was off air...i believe we are missing a portion of that interaction...and I pray that his design doesn't win being that they didn't announce the winners....

RedefinedDiva 08-03-2006 12:41 AM

Angela really did redeem herself. I was feeling like the redhead (forgot her name) when Angela started making those rosettes! I knew that she and Michael really wanted to scream, but didn't want to get out of line, considering that she was the group leader.

Originally, I thought ole boy would be kicked off for getting a discount. I know that they are supposed to get stuff for full price, or at least fair market value. Remember they tried to bump Kara Saun for using free shoes? I thought him getting like $12 or something knocked off would be the issue.

Pattern books, leaving the set to use the internet.... Dude HAD to know that he was going to get kicked out.

teena 08-03-2006 07:44 AM

I didnt think that reading pattern book was that big of a deal. Definately not enough to get kicked off.

that pattern book could have given him (and maybe it did) an unfair advantage over the other designers; he's going home at night reading a pattern book and they're doing it the hard way - that ain't right.

I'm glad he got kicked off, he was too arrogant.

angela redeemed herself in a big way last night! but when she starting making those rosettes and saying she was gonna put them on the clothes, I started screaming at the TV. I'm so glad she had two people with excellent taste on her team b/c if not, she would've had one of the lower scores.

If it was against the show's policy and he knew about in advance then he is definitely in violation...there is nothing that can be said that would refute the show's position on the matter.

lovelyivy84 08-03-2006 11:19 AM

I dearly love this show, and must say I was happy to see the guy go. He has been making such amazing outfits, and all the time screaming about how he has never done womenswear.

Well when you have a book telling you how to do it, it becomes significantly easier to learn. Shame on him!

I just want more Michael time. I have loved everything he's done thus far. Boy has SKILLS and they never recognize him! So I'm glad that his team won, although really the prize should have gone to him and Laura (who also has exquisitely sophisticated, if slightly plain, taste) for calming her spacey behind down.

I mean after that monstrosity of a balloon skirt last week? You HAD to know the only reason this worked was Laura and Michael!

Steeltrap 08-03-2006 11:51 AM

Angela's raggedy azz only redeemed herself because she had the good sense to pick Laura and Michael as her teammates. I still love, love, love Laura's taste (a Hermes White Bus bag, of course, really helps. :p ;) )

Not surprised that Bonnie got the boot. INC is a heavily trend-driven line. She needed to be in better tune with what's out there.

I knew you would be feeling Laura, lol.

She is so elegant! I just think her taste comes across as stark sometimes (the Miss USA dress comes to mind- it was way too plain for a pageant)

I loved when she talked about how she never dressed down because with 5 kids it's a short slide to sweats and a mini-van! lol!
