Recruitment 2006-2007

Hey AGD's: Let me know the dates for recruitment and I will add the dates next to the school. This will allow us to be thinking of those chapters and the many ladies working very hard to make this recruitment year the best ever. So when the chapter starts recruitment, I challenge all of us to remember what this time was like for us and to remember the Purpose and true meaning of AGD. Say a prayer, think positive thoughts, and don't forget to let us know how your "rush" week went.

Recruitment at West Georgia is going to be "interesting" to say the least, lol.

We will be doing the "release figures" program (sorry can't think of the proper name, lol.

In the past, there was a partial implementation but I don't think it followed the exact NPC procedure. This time, the Univ. reps are being trained by the appropriate NPC Release Figures Specialists.

The other chapter adivsors and I are having lunch in August so we can compare notes and plan!

AGDee 07-15-2006 10:32 PM

PM'd you with Area G, but many of these are in a thread in the Rush forum titled Fall 2006 Recruitment Results

VandalSquirrel 07-16-2006 06:39 PM

Delta Theta at Idaho has recruitment August 11th - 16th.

We're going rafting for our bid day trip (which doesn't happen on bid day, long story), and I'm going along. I downloaded all our songs from the website to my IPod so we can teach the new members on our three hour drive. We'll be Hadie Kadying down the Salmon river, but without the clapping for safety purposes.

Just in, hot off the presses: Indiana University of Pennsylvania: September 16 - 24, 2006

AGDZO Susan 07-20-2006 11:50 AM

Don't forget to add our newest chapter, Theta Chi-Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (deferred)! :)

GtownGirl98 07-20-2006 12:01 PM

Thanks, I thought about them yesterday but forgot to add them. This list was created last year, before them! I've added them.

I looked at the Recruitment Forum for most of the dates. If there is an error let me know or if there is a date to add, let me know that too! I really would like to get all the chapters (HINT HINT BIG SQUIRRELS with all the knowledge).

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am not a colligate member and that I am an active alumnae. Sorry that I asked for advise on this issue and if you have any further questions please pm me.

Gamma Alpha

GAMMA ALPHA STARTS RECRUITMENT TODAY!!!! I'm over here dieing in Atlanta because it's the first time that I'm not participating in recruitment :(

P.S. I went to the Gamma Alpha (University of Georgia) Mock Recruitment yesterday and let me tell you, my best friend, who happens to be VPR, is doing an AMAZING job! They all looked so gorgeous and their movements were so polished...*tear* Just kidding about the tear but in all seriousness, our girls at UGA are going to do so well this year. I mean make-every-other-chapter-on-campus-want-to-switch-letters good.

And now the waiting begins....luckily I have my advisor responsibilites at GaTech to keep me occupied!

AGDee 08-13-2006 08:02 PM

Gamma Delta starts us off with Quota and our International President's daughter is one of their new members! That's got to be a good sign for a good Recruitment season for all the Alpha Gams!

AGDLynn 08-13-2006 08:40 PM

Wooo!!

I wish I could have been there when Jackie met her "soon to be sister daughter or is that daughter sister?" and her other 2 Alpha Gam daughters met their "soon to be sister sister!!:)

IHeartUGA 08-14-2006 10:07 PM

FYI

Our International President's daughter, Sarah Stutts, is now an Alpha Gam at Auburn!!!!

And...Auburn's chapter made quota again!!!

VandalSquirrel 08-15-2006 12:43 PM

Today is preference, then tomorrow BID DAY! I get a day off from any offical AGD action (which is going to be spent doing stuff at work) and then we're going camping and rafting. New members move into the chapter house on Bid Day so I get to be the box and suitcase schlepper tomorrow.

I knew almost all the alumnae who have been helping out, except I met someone new yesterday. A Delta Beta (our ten minute away neighbors) alumna by the name of Joyce Aamot Greene sat across from me at lunch. We talked for over an hour and I never got a plate or ate anything, ooops!

I think the most hysterical part of recruitment was our fraternity neighbors having a dance party/impromptu karaoke sing-a-long next door. Hearing a group of men singing along to the Spice Girls, Pat Benatar, Vanessa Carlton, Hall & Oates, Billy Joel, Corey Hart, James Blunt, The Dixie Cups (Going to the Chapel), and my personal favorite The Weather Girls "It's Raining Men" made the long night go by faster. My awesome dancing and using a hole punch as a microphone made it even more special. Last year they were playing Britney Spears so I guess this is how they get pumped for men's rush.

GtownGirl98 08-15-2006 01:36 PM

That is really cool that you have enough room for the new girls to move into the house. Oh to have room for more than 25 girls...

It is the campus standard that new members move into the house on Bid Day (classes start Monday). It is all over the recruitment materials and the Greek Life page to NOT sign a housing contract. Depending on the physical structure and membership, there can be overflow in the past to residence halls, but a lot of upper classmen move off campus into apartments. The overflow has an added bonus of being a way to COR/COB your dorm mates. However if a woman is not placed there are rooms set aside by the University if they want to live on campus. I still don't know how all the chapters figure out in the spring how many beds/rooms they need as quota won't be set until tonight, but that is why overflow happens.

I'm sure I will be taking new members to the BIG Walmart in Lewiston to get things as our rinky dink one will be sold out between our students and Wazzu. Everything the women brought to college is with them in their temporary recruitment dorm room and we'll put it in a UHaul and bring it to the house.

VandalSquirrel 08-16-2006 09:03 AM

It is now 6 am, and I just got back from taking the LC to the airport in Spokane. I've been up almost 24 hours so I am trying to decide if I should sleep for a couple hours or just stay awake. The new members open their bid cards at 10, and I'll have more info after that between the UHaul extravaganza and going to work.

Ok...

I am waiting...and waiting and of course don't hear from anyone yet :) about Delta Theta's rush results...VANDAL SQUIRREL don't you think you can go and climb up a tree and get some sleep!!! It's not like you haven't been helping out during rush or anything and think you are tired...LOL!!!

I never got much sleep. I helped with the unloading of the Uhaul and putting things in rooms, then went to the office when the photographer showed up. I am taking a short break then headed back over to be helpful but if they don't need any help I am going to come home and go to bed.

I am so excited about going to sleep tonight, though my supervisor and I volunteered to help new students move into the dorms so I need a good night of sleep.

ETA: We bid a triple legacy (I believe all three members were from UI) and her mom was here today helping her move in. She gave her an Alpha Gam shirt from when she was a collegian and I had to walk outside for a minute because I didn't put on waterproof mascara this morning and I prefer to look like a bushy tailed squirrel and not a ring eyed racoon.

I'm so proud of them :) They are such cute, outgoing girls and they deserve such a good result from all of the hard work they've put in (especially their VPR!!!)!

I just got home from Bid Night at Georgia Tech....the new girls are BEAUTIFUL! Gamma Phi worked so hard this year and it shows!

AGDLynn 08-28-2006 09:52 PM

Today was the last day to register for WGa recruitment. I think that there are about 150 to sign up, including 3 legacies and a possible .5 (cousin, lol.)

Rec. starts Thursday night and Bid night is Monday night.

1st year to do release figures system. 6 NPC sororities (Alpha Gam, AXiD, KD, Phi Mu and Tri Delta.

Tuesday, I'm off work and sleeping, lol.;)

ETA: Just heard from another Chapter CA. she says there are 185 to have signed up. That's the same as last year...of those, about 157 showed up. Quota was 21, I think.

rayray 08-30-2006 12:15 AM

San Francisco State University Recruitment is 9/18-9/22!!! WOOHOO!!!

AGDLynn 09-05-2006 01:19 PM

GAMMA TAU

We have 23 new members. Quota was 21. That puts us above Chapter total so we probably won't have to COB.

We got 2 legacies..one's the VP Scholarship's sister and the other has a Gamma Delta grandmother and aunt, and a Gamma Sigma cousin. :)

I'm going to sleep now!;)

AGDee 09-05-2006 01:45 PM
