Fast Food Places

Is there a fast food place that you like to go on vacation because you can only get it in that part of the country?

For example, I love going to Checkers when I'm in FL because I like thier chicken sandwhichs and I don't get them in NY or RI. Am I the only one that does this?

In and Out in California and Nevada

tunatartare 06-22-2006 12:19 PM

33girl 06-22-2006 12:23 PM

KSigkid 06-22-2006 12:24 PM

In N Out

Whataburger when I am back home from school.

Rudey 06-22-2006 12:54 PM

I think you people would like Fat Burger more than In N' Out.

Oh man, if you ever come to western PA/northern WV and DON'T go to Eat 'n Park, you are missing out! EnP is an institution. Breakfast is tops, as are the smiley cookies!
http://www.eatnpark.com/
and i miss Waffle House when I'm here in Pittsburgh...once you get over the WV line, the golden glow of Waffle House fades.

This also applies to 33girl:

There's a Waffle House off of I-79 at the Meadowlands exit. My parents tried it and were not too thrilled, but we're not big Waffle House people.

Sadly no iHops on this side of PA.

Love the Eat 'n Park smiley cookies, but their breakfast really isn't all that great... not bad, just nothing special.

Why just because most of the people on GC are fat?

Thanks for the setup

oh is that where it is? I thought it was in Little Washington.

I like Perkins better than E & P, just because I'm sick of E & P, but Pamela's is better than both of them.

There might be one there, too. I've never been to a Perkins.

You are so right on Pamela's. I love Pamela's. Hmmmm... I think I might have to head there for breakfast this weekend.

SOPi_Jawbreaker 06-22-2006 02:04 PM

In and Out (they need to bring In and Out to the east coast :()
Jack In the Box

We had an Eat N' Park in State College, but it didn't look very sanitary, so we always went to Denny's.

BobbyTheDon 06-22-2006 02:05 PM

To answer seriously in this thread, I'm not sure if this is a fast food chain or not but whenever I"m in Texas I like to go to Snuffers. Or Pluckers

AlphaFrog 06-22-2006 02:12 PM

Fazoli's...although the last one I went to in Columbia, SC was really different then I remembered.

Glitter650 06-22-2006 02:29 PM

I missed my Jack in the Box when I was on the east coast for the summer... but never got to try any places that we don't have here in Cali.

If I'm ever in Western PA, Perkins and Primanti's is a must! But I dont plan trips around my dining, I consider them an added perk!

kstar 06-22-2006 04:51 PM

Stake'n'Shake

ADqtPiMel 06-22-2006 05:10 PM

Why would you go on vacation and eat fast food?

AlphaSigOU 06-22-2006 05:28 PM

Carl's Jr. At least there's one in Rockwall, Texas.

ShaedyKD 06-22-2006 06:48 PM

In N Out, I think I should be their out of state spokesperson because I love it so much.

I just realized that the only Steak and Shakes in Texas are in the Dallas area. I'm really craving a Frisco Melt and some mini fries right now!

When I go up north, I love stopping at Roy Rogers at the rest stops. Do they still have those? And White Castle, soooo good!

BobbyTheDon 06-22-2006 06:57 PM

If you guys are in SoCal, hit up Tommy Burgers,Phillys Best , Albertos or Yoshinoya

http://www.originaltommys.com/

http://www.yoshinoyausa.com/

http://eatphillysbest.com/

albertos doesn't have a website, but it's a fastfood hole in the wall mexican joint

AKA_Monet 06-22-2006 07:25 PM

For a VERY LONG TIME there wasn't a Krispy Kreme in San Diego... Now there is one or may by more... And for a LONG TIME there were only like 3 Popeye's Fried Chicken places in San Diego...

I stopped eating fast food recently... And last time I consumed food from a fast food joint, I got very sick...

As far as the "--bertos" hole in the wall mexican joints go: I am on Baja Mexican withdrawal symptoms up in PacNorthwest--the sauce ain't that spicy caliente up heerah... Boy do I miss the food...

If you spend all of your money on travel, lodging, and souvies...you might be too po' for "slow" food.

The last time I went out of town, I ate McDonald's three times in 24 hours. :(

Senusret I 06-22-2006 08:50 PM

Until this very moment, I never knew that Waffle House was the name of the restaurant....when people said waffle house, I thought it was a generic name for a place that sold waffles and other breakfast food all day.

:(

We don't have those in DC that I know of.

Buttonz 06-22-2006 09:11 PM

Am I the only one that can't stand White Castle????

Roachburgers... yum! :D Guess they don't call 'em sliders for nothin'! ;)

Scandia 06-22-2006 09:54 PM

I used to like going to the Northeastern United States because I could eat at Roy Rogers. I'm a vegetarian now- but I'm pretty sure I will still be able to find something in the menu that I can eat.

In general, one of the things I enjoy most about road trips is seeing the different restaurant, supermarket, and retail chains that are available only in certain parts of the country.

I used to love it, in fact, it was the only kind of hamburgers I ate. Then I heard rumors that the secret ingredient is liver pate. I don't know what pate is, but I know what liver is! I have not had any more since then. EWW!

The only thing I will eat from them is the Chicken Rings

When my one parent was getting regular treatments at Johns Hopkins, the two of them would literally buy 15-20 Roy Rogers sandwiches, and use that Seal a Meal to keep the meat & bread separate, and use an electric cooler to bring them home! I love Roy's, but...!

Roy Rogers & Waffle House for me - unless it's Chicago. Then, I need my Super Dawg!

Rudey 06-22-2006 10:46 PM

I like all the psalms and religious stuff that they have all over In N Out.

Seriously Fat Burger and Wahoo's are where it's at peeps. Bobby doesn't agree and that's fine.

White Castle while started in Kansas was never as good as cozy burgers in Salina, Ks. God, I wish I could get a 4 dozen order from them now!:D

11-06, in Pittsburg, Ks. God, Greasy Burgers and curly fries to die for.

Have to get a fix when I get back there!:)

KatieKate1244 06-23-2006 07:52 PM

There's a little resturant across the river from my school called Burger Carte. They've been there since the late 60's-early 70's, and they haven't changed much since then. They have amazing fries, burgers, and shakes. Mmmm...getting hungry now...

MoonStar17 06-23-2006 11:18 PM

Sonic for a cherry limeaide (thats the only thing i like there)

and Cracker Barrel cause its just yummy... but its not really fast food.

KSUViolet06 06-23-2006 11:34 PM

Jill1228 06-24-2006 12:50 AM
