Really!?!?!?!

 So I found this on one of my friends Facebook albums....and all I could do was shake my head. Apparently this picture was taken at the Greek Picnic in Atlanta.........I don't really know what to say about this.....just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were......

Yowzer. That's like, way too much. Yeah, I'll leave it at that.

SoCalGirl 06-18-2006 10:39 PM

That totally looks like it was photoshopped. Not that it really makes it any better.

At first glance, I thought that as well. However, after nearly ruining my sight even more than it already is, the creases match up and the print at the bottom matched the print on the sleeve. Not that it matters because these folks are straight up crafty with that Photoshop.

tld221 06-18-2006 11:00 PM

^^^ LOL at shamikaT and that quote!

i dontthink it was photoshopped... but that is straight beastin. i love my sgrho like no other, but that's disrespeckin.

2Tuff2Quit 06-18-2006 11:01 PM

My thing is...okay..so I see what orgs are listed on the back of the shirt......At first I was wondering who was wearing the shirt, but I figured that part out (I think it's an sgrho..going by what tld221 just said, if not then I apologize for that assumption). I don't understand...why???? ....I have seen some strange and unfortunate pictures come out of these picnics. :(

All that's left is Sigma Gamma Rho. I would HOPE that she is a member of SOMETHING or else she had better have her Nikes strapped tight.

LOL @ the Nikes
But that is true though....sad but true.....

Steeltrap 06-18-2006 11:46 PM

People who are SECURE in their choice of NPHC GLO wouldn't do that. JMO. It's about doing you. There's a fine line between clowning and insecurity.

ZetaStorm 06-18-2006 11:58 PM

Wow! That's a little extreme.

I'm not one to state the obvious so I'm going to ignore the actual message of the shirt, and instead point out how the girl isn't only insecure in her choice of sorority, but also in her grammatical skills as well seeing as how she forgot to put a question mark at the end of a question. :p Oh and how did she not get attacked at the picnic wearing that?

As Officer Friendly instructed me back in the day, and a statement that I live by to this very day: "There is safety in numbers!" I don't know the chick and how " 'bout it" (as we say in N.O.) she may be, but when you have a bunch of Sorors with you, you might be a little more prone to act up and show out than you would if you were alone. She knows that her Sorors wouldn't let her get beat down, so she was able to wear something like that. I'm sure she got her fair share of "compliments" for that shirt....:p

It sort of looks like the person is standing behind shrubbery and trees (but I was wondering the same thing you were!!).

Boom_Quack13 06-19-2006 04:01 AM

I would NEVER wear anybody else's letters. I'm not wondering how she escaped a beatdown from sorors and sistergreeks of AKA and ZPhiB. I'm wondering why her own sorors didn't hem her up. I know MY sorors would have taken care of that shirt, before anyone else could see it, had one of us worn it.

CrimsonTide4 06-19-2006 06:52 AM

Like folks say when they see the prom pictures, "OMG!! Who are, where are their parents?"

Who are, where are their PROPHYTES?

Attention seeking behaviors:rolleyes: :(

mulattogyrl 06-19-2006 08:47 AM

The message itself doesn't really bother me, but why would you want to bring attention to everyone else's letters but your own? That makes no sense to me. I wouldn't have the desire to wear any letters but mine.

BlutifulDeuce06 06-19-2006 11:15 AM

I was at the picnic this past weekend and saw the shirt myself. Nobody really paid it too much attention. Personally, I've seen worse. However, it clearly speaks to her own issues with the org. she chose.

treblk 06-19-2006 11:36 AM

Never mind, my computer at work is WACK :(
Interesting shirt..just screams insecurity

At the same time, we all know that her sorors should be checkin' her, too!

That is just shameful. I am always making sure that I am representing DELTA to the fullest that I don't have time to give anyone else some shine.

She is crazy. And I am grateful that I was not there cause there would have been a problem.:)

Pretty much. Something always surfaces in the water during the summer. Folks will put any old craziness on their shirts/jackets/etc.

Maybe she was eager to wear the letters of her first 3 choices. :D

I'm glad she didn't get a beatdown from the Sorors, AKAs, or Zetas. It's not that serious. She should, however, have gotten hemmed up by her sorors as well as her prophytes questioned as to what 'nalia protocol they have been teaching their neos. :o

Dam! Nobody paid it any attention? What the ---- was wrong with yall? Good thing I wasn't there. LOL!!!

This reminds me of the pictures of the Zetas in the "we look good in any color" t-shirts. Where is that thread?!!

Can't find it. :(

Yeah, that is what I thought about too. And that thread where it had those guys wearing Delta and AKA line jackets. People did not seem bothered about that.

Aint that the truth! This picture is floating around enough cause it was all up in my e-mails. Why is it that when one of our members does something for "shock value" we are called "insecure" and what not? I was 36 years old when I became a Sigma woman.

I aint insecure about a dam thing!

I'm still looking for the darn thread....

Can't find it... oh well caint find it.

I was "bothered" by it until I found out it was Greek skit day and the men were doing tributes to the members of those sororities. The jackets were not worn as a diss.

That shirt that is shown in the original post is meant to be a diss. I am no longer bothered by it like I was a year ago because it is another Greek trend.

No one said that you, Blue Reign, is insecure. And age has nothing to do with insecurity.

But possibly the wearer of this shirt is insecure about her affiliation. :)

The thread is in your forum in the I Can't Believe thread: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...t=54788&page=5

Thanks CT4 for the link. No, I'm not talking bout that thread. There was a whole nother thread that was created and dedicated to those specific shirts and I can't find it.

Now as for this current shirt, I kind of like it. I would wear it IF IT WAS DONE DIFFERENTLY!!. Why would anyone want to wear another organizations letters in their colors? Nothing is sacred anymore. A better shirt could have been made in the likes of the apology shirts.

No one called all of you insecure.

We called that young lady, and anyone else who puts that much (money and) effort into other organizations, insecure.

Why would anyone want to wear another organization's letters, period (outside of maybe NPHC event shirts)? Not to mention that some of our organization's have protocol as to how we should and should not sport our 'nalia. :o

In addition to official protocol for my organization, I was taught some unofficial 'nalia protocol. That unofficial 'nalia protocol included not wearing "diss 'nalia." It's all about DST and if you want to think about another organization enough to put a reference to that organization on your 'nalia...you should've pledged that other organization. :o
