I've been waiting for this show to come on. Looks good!

tunatartare 06-18-2006 10:14 PM

OMG this show was awesome. I'm definitely going to be hooked. What team is your friend on?

blueangel 06-18-2006 10:40 PM

ACK! I missed it! Do you know if they're going to repeat the first episode???

Next Monday (June 26th), they are reairing highlights of the first episode at 8 p.m. Then the new episode comes on at 9 p.m. (It is taking a week off because hockey is tonight)

I am already obsessed with the show too! :D It is like a cross between "The Amazing Race" and the "DaVinci Code". I love all of the clues and secret codes.

blueangel 06-19-2006 07:47 AM

Yeah! Thanks. So will the new time be on Mondays from now on? I love Survivor, Amazing Race, and the Apprentice.. and have nothing to watch now. This seems like something I'll like.

my friend Sam is on the "genious" team. i dont know the other two on the team, but Sam is the least annoying one (the big guy). i knew they wouldnt get eliminated because i have seen previews of them in future episodes, but i was still about to have a heart attack for them screwing up.

and, they shouldnt have helped the hillbillies with the code until they got theirs opened first. they must have went deep down in texas for find those guys.

ShaedyKD 06-19-2006 06:54 PM

I should go on this show because I so figured out the Mt. Rushmore thing before any of them on the show did.

The Hillbillies are my favorites, I hope at some point in the competition that they are rewarded for their meticulous searching to find anything and everything that might be a clue. It kind of slows them down though. I was cracking up when they were crawling all under those rocks and picking up branches and stuff.

The Fogel family are my least fave, the blonde daughter is so whiny and the dad is the devil in preacher's clothing! He totally stole the clue during the dive from that one chick.

I think the Air Force team has a good chance of winning the whole thing.

BobbyTheDon 06-19-2006 09:59 PM

My favorite team is team big boobs, Errrrrr the Graduates and team mullet.

I hate team Miss USA

I hate team Southie (gay ass bostonian douchebags)

I hope team Mullet wins. They were nice and funny. SIlly team Mullet

KDAngel 06-20-2006 01:04 AM

I like it. Go figure.

As soon that I saw the Grad Students were from San Diego I said to my mom, "Those are State girls." She asked, "Why? Because they have big boobs?" I replied, "Yup!" I checked their bios and I was right! :p

I knew Bobby would love them!

efcheerBB 06-20-2006 07:59 AM

I watched the show online yesterday. I have to say, that I am really going to enjoy this show. And like several other people on there, the Wild Hanlons (aka-the Hillbillies) are my favorite team on this show!!

MysticCat 06-23-2006 03:10 PM

I was hoping to like the show better than I did. It seeks to be okay summer entertainment -- I'll keep watching it -- but I was hoping for better.

I’m mainly disappointed that The Unnamed Talking Head calls them with Motorola Messages (product placement is really running amok -- Ask.com's "unique" seach functions?) to tell them what to do next, what they’re looking for, etc. I was really hoping for something a little more Da Vinci Codish – you have to figure out the clue to know where to go and what to do/what to look for when you get there, which in turn will lead you somewhere else, and so on. I want them to be told a lot less and have to figure out a lot more.

And I wish that when NBC is doing shows like this, they'd get producers who can do a better job of producing -- filming, editing etc. It feels less like The Amazing Race and more like Fear Factor, Joe Millionaire or Average Joe.

'Course like I said, I'll keep watching.

tunatartare 06-26-2006 10:09 PM

What did everyone think of this week's episode? I'm slightly confused because the Brown Family got eliminated but they're in the previews for next week's episode. Maybe they'll bring them back as a surprise to the other teams. Hmm. Pretty good so far.

adpi*violet 06-26-2006 10:23 PM

I'm guessing the grad students could no longer compete because of the one girl's injury, so the Browns were invited back in to the game.

Is anybody playing the online game they have? I highly doubt I'll be winning 200,000 dollars, but hey, it's a wonderful way to procrastinate.

tunatartare 06-26-2006 10:24 PM

Yea I'm playing the game. I can't figure out how to cross the damn river though.

ShaedyKD 06-26-2006 10:35 PM

Hypocrites!

http://www.foothillschurchrsm.com/index.htm

How'd you like to go to Pastor Brad Fogal's church? I know I'd like to hear about the Bible condoning lying and cheating!

The Wild Hanlons need to listen to little Josh more often. They could have stopped to get their burgers on the way back to camp if they would have let him decipher the code to begin with. I think the grad student girls have a lot of heart to keep going on, and they still made it to the next round.

I'm still going for Air Force, they're gonna go all the way.

adpi*violet 06-26-2006 10:35 PM

Let's see if I can remember.
Solved for you below.... if you don't want to know... don't read this part.

Cross to the first rock. Pick up the little piece of wood. Cross over and put the little piece of wood downstream going to the short spaced rock. Pick up the big piece and lay it in a straight line from the little piece you just placed, upstream to the next big spaced rock. Cross over the big log. Pick up the big log and put it towards the big space rock on the far shore as if you could almost step over to the shore. (You can't.) Turn around and pick up the little piece behind you. Cross over the big log carrying the little piece. Put the little piece upstream over the little spaced rock. Cross back over the big log to the rock in the middle of the stream. Pick up the big piece and put it back downstream. You are going to go fetch the little piece of wood you left behind. Cross over, pick up the little piece. Cross back and put the little piece in the space where the other little piece was originally. Pick up the big log and put it back towards the far shore again. Pick up the little piece and cross towards the far shore, then cross the other little piece going upstream and place the first little piece in the short space. Go back and get the big log. Cross over both little pieces to the rock most mid and upstream. Place the big log to the rock downstream from you. Cross over. Pick up the big log and place it to the rick on the far shore. Cross over. You made it!

That was clear as mud, but hopefully it will help.

AlphaSigOU 06-27-2006 12:01 AM

GO AIR FORCE! :D

AznSAE 06-27-2006 11:01 AM

my TV decided to crap out on me last night. the picture was fine, but the sound was all static and i couldnt hear anything. then this morning it was fine.

i dont like the fogals. the hanlons were a hoot from what i saw. it took them 11 hours in the cave plus they went to get food :D.

And they still didn't get eliminated. The most entertaining family on TV in a long time.

Meanwhile, I think the Fogels are channeling the Weavers from Amazing Race: Family Edition.

tunatartare 06-27-2006 11:13 AM

The Fogels are annoying me. Especially since they pray for their competition. That's just weird. I love the Hanlons. Glad they're still in the game.

I don't think they were eliminated. I don't remember seeing anyone get eliminated.

tunatartare 06-27-2006 01:48 PM

At the end of the show they got a phone call from the guy saying they were out because they didn't find a compass.

Gina1201 06-27-2006 01:49 PM

Oh, I was half watching it. But the previews for next week clearly show the Brown family arguing with the Hanlons.

BobbyTheDon 06-27-2006 01:49 PM

All I want to know is whether or not team Big tits is still in it or not.

And if they are still in it, are they going to wear a bikini again.

Yes, they were eliminated. But I'm guessing that the Grad Students have to drop out because of Jessica's injury (sorry, Bobby), and that when the Grad Students have to drop out, the Browns are invited to come back and take their place.

I forgot about that. It's probably what happens. I don't see how they can go on with her injury.

Oh great. They just lost one viewer. Oh well. I like Hells Kitchen better anyways

The funny thing was the prayer they did wasnt even for their competition. The lady was like "thanks for getting us this far even though we dont have anything more than the rest of them"...um how is that praying for your competition...I hate when religious people try to cover up their bad actions with prayer

RU OX Alum 06-28-2006 12:19 PM

public prayer is condemended in the bible

Not exactly. Public prayer for the purpose of being seen by others is condemned. The admonition in the Sermon on the Mount to pray in private is preceeded by: "Beware practicing your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. . . . And when you pray, do not stand like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others."

Query whether praying in your car is public praying, even if you know that cameras are recording it.

Regardless, it did not endear me to them.

Still BLUTANG 07-03-2006 09:18 PM

o.k. so how do y'all feel about the browns being reinstated after the grad girls left?

tunatartare 07-03-2006 10:22 PM

The Brown Family annoys me to no end. Quite possibly more than the Fogals. I was upset to see that they got to stay on and beat out the Hanlons because they only got back in the game because of a technicality. I'm gonna miss the Hanlons, they were great. I hope they bring them back for the finale or something.

blueangel 07-04-2006 11:57 AM

I ALWAYS forget the show is on... and once again, missed most of it. I caught the last 15 minutes, and was surprised to see the Brown family still in it.

Why were they reinstated?

ShaedyKD 07-04-2006 12:00 PM

I think it was shitty that they got to stay in by default, but the Hanlons would have been the last team to figure out the lock combinations anyways, so they would have gone home last night either way. I don't like how someone said that the Genuis team figures clues and puzzles out in 2 seconds, because it was the Hanlon kid that turned the lights out and revealed the glow in the dark clues. Josh was way smarter than his redneck dad and uncle.

Poor Air Force has to work with the Fogels because no one else will. I think they were stupid to sit there and argue with the Chowderheads though because it ended up screwing them in the end, because Boston and one other team got to the dock before them. If the Air Force team would have just left the cemetary right after they saw the lanterns, they could have been the first team to get the ticket for the boat. Come on Air Force, you're not going to win if you get in petty fights with the other teams.

SoCalGirl 07-04-2006 01:30 PM

If I had been in the first or second team to arrive at the boats I would have suggested teaming up together. That way the two teams would have a half hour lead over everyone without any worries of another team being "hot on their heels".

I'm glad the Hanlons are gone. While the kid was a decent guy and not an idiot, he could not make up for his father and uncle. I'd rather listen to anohter week of the Brown's complaining than the Hanlons.

i think the previous week's episode comes on an hour before the new episode starts.

why was the air force team arguing about people teaming up against them? they were the ones who got there first and left because they thought they got the right answer. the other teams got there together and had to team up for the two locations.

i wonder how long it takes for them to figure out the clues? i probably would not have figured out the lanterns clue as fast and would probably have sugested digging up graves to see if things were buried, lol.

The Grad students team (3 girls) had to drop out of the race, because one of them injured her knee and was trying to continue on crutches. They finally realized that they were doing more harm than good, so they quit. The Browns were the last to be eliminated, so they got to rejoin. I am not thrilled, because they are among my least favorite. But I am sure glad the Hanlons are gone. Talk about annoying!

blueangel 07-06-2006 08:26 AM

Ohhhh! OK thanks. I did see one of the grad students get hurt. My heart went out to her because knee injuries are so painful. She's probably facing knee surgery. They definately did the right thing by pulling out.

Yes, agree with you on the Hanlons... annoying! Hope the prayer people go soon too!
