Tips for getting around the new GC.

Those of us who headed over to GeekBoards have worked a little with this format, and can help a little when it comes to finding things and using features of the new GC. Also, as others become more familiar they can probably add here too what they've learned.

So, add tips here for what you've learned about the New GC, and ask questions if you're having trouble.

Changing fonts - instead of just [ font = symbol] you may have to put quotes around "symbol". (I believe it depends on your browser, computer settings, etc).

Editing posts - Click "edit" and fix your post, then click save.

From the front page GLO Specific forums can be found under the Greek Life forum, and the General Chats at the bottom. You will have to click in the solid blue box.

The post box now has a SPELL CHECK. Rejoice in the fact that there is no longer a need for your posts to look like a 13/F/Hickville in a chatroom.

Please add to as you find new features, and ask questions!!

Oh no! What will happen to EarpSpeak?

New tip: If you mouse over the title of a thread, you can read the first few lines without actually clicking in.

Drolefille 06-13-2006 12:46 PM

So what do you guys think of the "related threads" down at the bottom... I didn't even see them until now...

Dang, I just noticed them!!! That's pretty cool. Instead of telling people to do a search now when they post a thread that says "How do you feel about hazing?" for the umpteenthmillion time, we can tell them to scroll below.:)

The ones that are bolded are the ones you haven't read, the not bolded ones are the ones you have read.

Some threads are just meant to be forgotten.

Dionysus 06-13-2006 02:19 PM

I've been to several types of boards that has this format. On some of them you can add a title under your name. I wonder if this function will be added.

Funny...I call my mom Dory when I repeat myself 700 times. She doesn't like it very much.

tunatartare 06-13-2006 02:31 PM

Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim, swim.

Drolefille 06-13-2006 02:47 PM

That wouldn't much fun for little Fabio, now would it?

Drolefille 06-13-2006 02:59 PM

So, I'm a registered user, but some other people are Senior Members... is that the same post count as before?

tunatartare 06-13-2006 03:01 PM

Don't think so. I thought you only needed 100 posts to be a senior member.

Maybe it's just on older posts? I'm confused.

tunatartare 06-13-2006 04:36 PM

Yea I don't get it either. Cuz I used to be a senior member and now I'm a registered user.

Drolefille 06-13-2006 04:42 PM

if you look at your older posts, are you listed as a senior member?

tunatartare 06-13-2006 04:44 PM

nope

kddani 06-13-2006 04:47 PM

Who IS listed as a senior member? Everyone looks like Registered Members to me.
