Coulter calls 9/11 widows "witches"
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Conservative author Ann Coulter sparked a storm on Wednesday after describing a group of September 11 widows who backed the Democratic Party as millionaire "witches" reveling in their status as celebrities.
"I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much," Coulter writes in her book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," published on Tuesday, referring to four women who headed a campaign that resulted in the creation of the September 11 Commission that investigated the hijacked plane attacks. Coulter wrote that the women were millionaires as a result of compensation settlements and were "reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis." for full article... http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060607/...e_coulter_dc_4 |
Is this a political comment, or a way to sell some books, I wonder.

I dislike both. Ann is following the path of Moore in the sense that she feels the need the push the envelope further than before with each book she releases. |
I rarely get involved in political debates, but I feel the need to weigh in with this one.
The woman offended me with her apperenence on the Today show. Between her comments about the 9-11 widows and other comments, like Democrats aren't religious, shes just stepping over a line with me. And its a pretty deep line. I'm a public school teacher, it takes a lot to offend me. |
What religion is she? I've always wondered.

He's ugly. She's pretty (well, kind of) He's way far left. She's way far right. They should get married. Their kid would be the perfectly average scitzo. |
"Here's what we know about Ann Coulter. She's blonde. She's single. Maybe someone will set her up with O.J."
---David Letterman from his monologue tonight |
I think she overdid it this time.
|
She went way over the line, but there's definitely a grain of truth in what she's saying. (See: Michael Moore, Rush Limbaugh, etc. Different dress, same pig.)

Michael Moore products are based solely on lies. It's not about half truths or exaggerations. Right now he is being sued for millions by a veteran who lost both his arms in Iraq for portraying him as against the war. And once again Brandon, you only come on to post something against conservatives. Whether or not we agree with Ann or like her doesn't matter but the fact that you keep posting this stuff is ridiculous. Once again, get a life. -Rudey |
She stepped over the line on this one. I'm over the whole "everything in our lives should revolve around the tragedy of 9/11" bit, but it WAS a tragedy. She had no right to talk about the wives of those killed like that.
I knew I disliked for at least 1 reason... |

I'm so bored with her and human ham sandwich Michael Moore.
FWIW, I always pictured most 9/11 widows as fairly conservative, socially as well as politically. She could be eroding large chunks of her base. |

She is going to be on the tonight show tomorrow (wed) night. I wonder if this mess is going to be brought up.
|
of course it will.
|
I don't know. The Tonight show isn't exactly hard core journalism at work... it's pretty much fluff. I doubt that it'll really be talked about in much detail or anything good.
|
She should go on the Daily Show

It would be a kick to see her on the Daily Show. |

I don't know if Coulter has the ability to make fun of herself enough to appear on the Daily Show. |

Yeah, I think ComCen is pulling the reingns in on them. They've been going softer for a while now. |
Jon Stewart vs. Ann Coulter - there's something I'd like to see.
|
No kidding! She needs a serious bitch slap!
I think all the 9/11 widows need to line up and give that heffa a beatdown! Quote:

Whatever I think of Coulter, I didn't like Matt Lauer's interview style. Generally I think he's a good interviewer, but in this one he seemed to be on the attack from the word go. With someone as volatile as Coulter, I didn't think he needed to be quite so aggressive from the start; the interview would probably have naturally led to an aggressive tone at a later point.
It's just a pet peeve of mine in general when interviewers start an interview in attack mode. |

I agree that Campbell Brown is excellent. Actually, I wish she had gotten the Couric position full time. I think Lauer is also, by and large. In either example, as was the case with Katie Couric, it's not easy to go from hard news to softball entertainment. It takes skill. |

I too thought Campbell should get the position, although I'm just glad they didn't give it to Ann Curry. I'm not a fan of her appearances on Dateline. |
