Project Runway: Season 3

Project Runway: Season 3 is going to be airing "fashionably early" as Heidi puts it starting on 12 July (as of now anyway). And while I know the last season didn't end that long ago I'm kinda stoked to be getting something worth watching back on the air this summer.

Are you in? Or are you out?

Private I 05-31-2006 05:10 AM

NOOOOOOOOOOO I'll be out of the country the entire time it goes on most likely. I still maintain Daniel V. deserved to win...

jubilance1922 05-31-2006 07:35 AM

Yay! I hope the next cast will be as entertaining and talented as the last one was.

mu_agd 05-31-2006 09:08 AM

I soooo hope there's another motherfucking walkoff.

PhiMuAmberkins 05-31-2006 09:12 AM

This just made my day...this is one of my all time favorite shows!

And yeah, Daniel V was the clear winner!

AXi1257 06-02-2006 09:10 AM

I love this show! I can't wait for the new season!!

Xylochick216 06-02-2006 10:44 AM

Ahhh, my favorite guilty pleasure :) I can't wait!

KDAngel 07-08-2006 07:40 PM

Starts this Wednesday! :)

And news from the show:
Bad news: On the third season of Project Runway, Heidi Klum will have no reason to say the word “banana.” That’s because Banana Republic has dropped off as a sponsor of the show.

Why did they leave? Advertising Age reports that “Banana Republic did not return calls regarding its decision not to re-up, though it’s said the retailer felt it had wrung as much exposure as it could from the first two seasons.”

But don’t expect Bravo’s breakout reality hit to be without product whoring. Despite Banana’s exit, there will be a lot more than last season. “Macy’s, L’Oreal Paris, Saturn, Orbitz, TRESemm, and Delta Air Lines have been named official sponsors” of the show, according to a press release. Elle will also return as a sponsor.

Instead of the “mentorship” with Banana, “Macy’s will award them with a mentorship with I.N.C. International Concepts.” The release also says “Orbitz will be featured on-air … and Delta Air Lines will appear in product integrations on-air,” while the winner gets a 2007 Saturn Sky Roadster.

Xylochick216 07-09-2006 10:03 AM

I'm not surprised Banana Republic won't be back. I didn't think many of the designers fit in with their style. I'm excited for Wednesday night :) I've been watching the reruns of Season 2 and I can't wait!

Sister Havana 07-10-2006 10:52 AM

I am so excited about this!

mu_agd 07-10-2006 10:59 AM

It looks like we get two hours on Wednesday, with a casting special hosted by Tim Gunn at 9pm and then the first episode immediately after.

ms_gwyn 07-10-2006 11:56 AM

I love Tim Gunn SOOOOOO much

divainred 07-10-2006 01:11 PM

But did anyone notice in the previews it seems as if one of the designers will be asked to leave the show the year? Does anyone know which one...a spoiler?;)

Sister Havana 07-13-2006 12:16 AM

Did anyone else see the first episode? What did you think?

Malon is going to work my nerves this year, as is Laura. Jeffrey's neck tattoo scares me.

KDAngel 07-13-2006 03:54 AM

I loved the Road to the Runway episode beforehand, but yeah, as for the actual episode- I so loved the show being back on. Vincent (is that the crazy hat gay's name?) has to go. I was just so over him tonight will his outfit. Keith is going to be a bit much, but I loved his dress (I'd totally buy it)... more thoughts later.

sdsuchelle 07-13-2006 07:03 AM

Project Runway is my favorite show!

I thought Jeffrey should've been kicked off tonight -- I thought his garment was AWFUL, and so was his attitude.

Also I liked Robert's dress a lot more than Keith's. Keith's dress was just too plain.

LeslieAGD 07-13-2006 10:20 AM

My favorites so far are Laura (red head), Robert (Barbie designer), Allison (pretty blonde), Michael (hip hop guy), Angela (Ohio farm girl), and Malan (yes, he's an ass).

I agree with Michelle, Jeffery should have got the boot (his outfit was fugly), and Robert should have won the challenge.

squirrely girl 07-13-2006 01:23 PM

i totally would have worn either keith or robert's dresses so it was a toss up for me...

yeah for the new season!

ms_gwyn 07-13-2006 01:52 PM

you know what? I agree with the Judges...

yes regardless of the hat...Vincent's dress was is ok, not great, but not really that bad and it was sort of interesting.

Stacey was sort of going for a goddess dress, but it didn't work out that way, besides it didn't help that it was hand sewn and she didn't know how to use an industrial machine, that would have caused problems later.

Remember Vincent at one point was a professional designer, yea he hasn't done it in a while, but he still has it, it would seem.

I really did like Jeffrey's outfit, but again, there as something that he did to distract from the dress and jackets....the feathers....if he had perhaps pared down the jacket a bit...it would have been up there. You could see in his portfolio that he likes to layer, he just can't get out of control about it.

I was impressed with a majority of the designers, but I just love Laura...right now she is my favorite, but that could change.

epchick 07-13-2006 10:55 PM

I liked Vincent. I think that this challenge got the best of him, and he was just trying to do too much to make it look to "innovative" but I'm glad that he wasn't eliminated.

I do agree that Jeffrey should have been eliminated. I totally agree with Heidi that it seems that Jeffrey will be another Santino, and as much as i like Santino, I dont know if i can put up with that attitude again this season (although it is fun to watch at times)

I hated that Keith won...i'm sorry, but albeit the dress was nice, it was NOT innovative. It was too easy to turn a bedsheet into a dress. Come on, seriously where is the innovation in that? Even Tim Gunn said that it was not that innovative because it was an obvious way to go. Roberts dress (although not that innovative enough) was gorgeous. I loved that the chains turned into the straps in the back. I'd totally wear that dress.

I think that Laura (the fur coat) or Michael should have one. I seriously wouldn't have either thought to make a dress out of coffee filters. And it was an awesome dress too!!

jadis96 07-14-2006 01:41 AM

I saw an interview with Heidi Klum the other morning and while she would not say if someone got kicked off suddenly she said someone was "very naughty" and that was all she would say as it was not going to occur in the first week or so and she didn't want to upset producers.

mu_agd 07-14-2006 09:05 AM

I finally caught it last night. I'm loving Michael and Allison right now.

mu_agd 07-17-2006 10:17 AM

A scandal.. and possible spoiler?

Sister Havana 07-20-2006 12:23 AM

Thoughts on tonight's episode?

The person who got kicked off was not who I thought would go!

Vincent = DRAMA QUEEN.

I really liked Laura and Michael's dress, but I thought Kayne and Robert's was very nice too.

KDAngel 07-20-2006 01:32 AM

Loved Laura's dress, as well as Uli's. Kayne's was my favorite, so I'm glad it won. I thought the chick was gonna go over Malon, but his dress was HIDEOUS to me, so I'm very okay with his leaving.

PhiMuAmberkins 07-20-2006 09:26 AM

Loved Laura's dress, loved Uli's, loved the winning dress. Really REALLY thought Angela should have gone home rather than Malan (sp?). He at least drew a sketch and tried to make a dress...she just tried to freeload and complained a lot.

I'm so happy this show is back on...

squirrely girl 07-20-2006 01:19 PM

ditto on the above comments about angela - she really needed to be the one to go home last night

f8nacn 07-23-2006 10:14 PM

The gown that was designed on Episode 2 was just on Miss Universe if anyone is watching! Miss USA looked gorgeous in it.

AXi1257 07-24-2006 12:04 AM

Saw the gown too on the Miss Universe pageant! :)

epchick 07-24-2006 12:30 AM

I think that dress was perfect for her!

I was trying to imagine Uli's or Laura's dress on her...and I just can't see it holding up to everyone else.

I did not think she deserved to be placed where she was though! lol

f8nacn 07-24-2006 07:07 AM

Her answers weren't great but then again the translator messed it up for Japan....Glad Puerto Rico one...

I agree now that Angela should have been voted off.

I originally last week just caught the tale end on bravo, so i could see why for that dress he got voted off, but then after watching the whole episode last night on nbc - angela should have been cut. she did nothing. he at least attempted something.

she will be gone next week no question.. she doesn't sketch or sew and she is a designer? she wont go far in this competition.

Drolefille 07-26-2006 09:31 AM

Everyone else said that they saw it I think... (Didn't watch the pageant)

PhiMuLady150 07-26-2006 09:51 AM

Yeah I went to the website and they featured her in a different dress for her official evening gown photos but I saw another photo of her in the Project runway dress

mu_agd 07-26-2006 01:18 PM

Here's Tara in the dress:

She reminds me of Marla for last season. Remember? The older lady from PA who couldn't use a sewing machine or drape a garment on the mannequin. Everything she made looked like a costume. They kept her around longer than they should've.

KDAngel 07-26-2006 06:35 PM

That dress looks awesome on Tara at Miss Universe though. Rock it out. :)

HBADPi 07-27-2006 12:27 PM

How the hell is Angela still on this show? Her outfit looked like the one she was wearing and the skirt had scrunchies on it for crying out loud!

ms_gwyn 07-27-2006 02:17 PM

I think Kayne is going home next week....its one of the blue room boys at least...

Angela changed her story of the outfit, it was well constructed but if she had kept to her original story...perhaps....but who knows. I think she should have been gone as well last week.

AOII_LB93 07-27-2006 07:55 PM

Angela just needs to go....and Keith is just an ass. Yes, I know it's all editing, blah blah blah...I hate his personality.
