ETA: Nevermind, you did nominate DD.

teena 04-26-2006 04:29 PM

Krispy Kreme.

That HOT light will make you wreck your car.

SigKapBling 04-26-2006 04:59 PM

No, DD is SO overrated, and none of the workers speak English well.

macallan25 04-26-2006 05:03 PM

Lone Star Doughnuts in Round Rock, Texas are the best doughnuts by far.

Kevin 04-26-2006 05:09 PM

Brown's Bakery in OKC..

jitterbug13 04-26-2006 05:45 PM

Krispy Kream all the way!!!!:D :D

I thought KK was founded in Winston Salem, NC.

bluefish81 04-26-2006 06:17 PM

Krispy Kreme, best when they're hot though.

PhiMuAmberkins 04-26-2006 06:38 PM

Krispy Kreme, although Dunkin' Donuts is a close second. Mmm...now I want donuts...

KSigkid 04-26-2006 06:51 PM

Krispy Kreme is better than Dunkin, but there are local bakeries in CT and Massachusetts better than both.

Honey Dew (a Massachusetts chain) is better than Dunkin or Krispy Kreme, in my opinion.

KatieKate1244 04-26-2006 07:17 PM

Jolly Pirate Donuts. No contest. KK are too small and too sweet for my tastes. I can't remember the last time I had a DD, but I don't remember thinking badly on it. And the doughnuts at Wal-Mart really arn't that bad, either.

mulattogyrl 04-26-2006 07:25 PM

I have to go with Krispy Kreme for the donuts.

BTW, did anyone notice what the kk sign says? LMAO

tld221 04-26-2006 08:39 PM

OMG @ the KK sign!

i'm gonna put a bid in for KK, cause im a fan of anything thatll give me diabetes.

but, i will take DD Munckins over KK.

AGDee 04-26-2006 11:25 PM

I have to say Dunkin Donuts but the only Krispy Kreme here are in grocery stores and gas stations and stuff, so how do you get them hot? Also, they totally lack variety. All I've ever seen is plain glazed and chocolate frosted with white cream inside. What about jelly filled? Do they not know about jelly? Or Custard? Or lemon? What about chocolate cake donuts with glaze? I just don't get the hype. No Cherry Chip, Blueberry Chip, no powdered sugar. They just aren't donuts without all those options!

There is a Krispy Kreme on Gratiot in Roseville and one on Van Dyke in Warren. And I also want to say that the one in Roseville is open 24 hours.

Dee! There's one on Southfield in Allen Park! I've always wanted to stop in to get one but I'm not sure. Never had one and don't know if I'd wana spend the money on one.

KSUViolet06 04-26-2006 11:54 PM

Randy's. But I only get those when in the area. So I'll take KK in the meantime.

SDTSarah 04-27-2006 12:38 AM

Noooooooo...the ones in stores don't count, you have to get them straight from the store. Preferrably the one on Ponce in Atlanta, but that's just me. They do have jelly filled ones, and my favorite are the chocolate iced custard filled.

Rudey 04-27-2006 01:01 AM

Bobby don't be a fat finook.

Randy's is overrated. I'm all about the KK and it's so good you'd suck dick as the picture says.

You stupid malafalalafinook. I've been saying Randys is overrated for a while. I just couldn't think of any other donut store, so I named them

FSUZeta 04-27-2006 07:36 AM

from the choices listed-krispy kreme. loved to make 2 a.m. right out of the oven donut runs freshman year.

but the best donuts i have ever, ever had are from johnson's bakery in my little hometown.

You are correct, sir!! It's worth a little detour off I-35.
But since I'm 3 hrs. north of there, I'll just get a KK - but I want a HOT one!

irishpipes 04-27-2006 10:03 AM

KKs are too sweet for me. I like DD.

Rudey 04-27-2006 10:08 AM

DD has the best coffee. That's for sure.

ABSOLUTELY

BobbyTheDon 04-27-2006 01:10 PM

I'd have to say KK or Shipleys believe it or not.

If you asked my sister though, she'd talk about Shipleys as if it were a church. Homegirl loves Shipleys man. What a weirdo

WLFEO 04-27-2006 01:14 PM

I'm gonna have to go with DD!

ShaedyKD 04-27-2006 01:34 PM

Dunkin Donuts

followed by Shipley's

It was. Don't know where Tom got the idea it was founded in Kansas City. (And before anyone starts to argue about it: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts History -- move your curser over 1937.)

Krispey Kremes by a longshot. A hot Krispey Kreme is food of the gods.

Dunkin' Donuts aren't even the same league as Krispey Kremes -- they might as well be grocery-store bought.

Interesting to watch what happens in the office when people bring in doughnuts. If KK get brought in, you better move fast or you won't get one. If it's DD, there are usually still quite a few hanging around after lunch if you want one for dessert. Apparently, I'm not the only one here who finds it impossible to pass on a KK and very easy to pass on a DD.

BobbyTheDon 04-27-2006 03:31 PM

Alright, I probably shouldn't say this but I will.

There was a sorority on campus who wasn't exactly known as the skinny girls. One year they made shirts with the Krispey Kreme logo, except they put their sorority name in there instead of Krispy Kreme.

The other sororities were not so friendly and ragged on them HARDCORE for those shirts, and their hefty size. lol

Again though, that totally depends on where you are. Whenever Dunkin Donuts are brought into my office, they're gone within a few minutes. I swear, DD is like a religion around here (although I think they're only average; personally I'd rather have KK as well).

Quite true.

That said, I simply cannot fathom preferring DD to KK. To each his own. though, however incomprehensible his own may be. ;)

MJo19 04-27-2006 09:40 PM

Neither! A few people here on GC might know what I am talking about by saying one word: Schuler's....

33girl 04-28-2006 09:46 AM

Dunkin hands down. Krispy Kreme was good at first, now they're crap. The perils of being too successful...

Oh, and who remembers Mister Donut and/or Donut Connection? (I think they might have been the same thing)

Munchkin03 04-28-2006 10:33 AM

33, I found a Mister Donut when I was in Bangkok. They're still around!

I love any kind of donut, really. DD is right around the corner from Casa Munch, but there's nothing like a hot KK donut!
