Nope, it's not true. As ZetAce mentioned though, the list she provided was just a sampling. I can think of more off the top of my head...neither of the two you listed, though.

FYI ...

Jylla Foster is no longer with IBM. She left about 6 months ago to create her own consulting firm ... which, as I understand it, is doing EXTREMELY well! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Also - as I understand it, Minnie Riperton (God rest her Soul) was a Finer Woman of Zeta Phi Beta.

There are many women of Zeta that I admire, Zora Neale Hurston, Ja' net Dubois and Esther Rolle all are classy ladies. However, Gladys Knight is our own Soror of AKA!

SummerChild 03-07-2005 09:13 PM

Congratulations to the women of Zeta Phi Beta on having Zora Neale Hurston's book featured as a movie. I have always loved "Their Eyes Were Watching G-D" and she has finally received her due!

I also attended a wonderful fair called "Zora!" near her hometown in January. The community has really rallied behind her accomplishments in Central Florida.

I have a question for the forum. Last night I was watching Steve Harvey's Big Time and Lisa Raye was a guest judge on the show. After she was introduced, she held up (what I thought was) the Zeta Sign. Immediately, I called me mother (who is a Life Member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.) to see if Lisa Raye is a member. She did not know. Did anyone see the show last night and is Lisa Raye one of your famous members?

To my knowledge she is not a Soror.

bro_strawter 04-27-2005 05:16 AM

Is Patti Labelle a Zeta lady for real? I remember years ago the Zeta's at my school had her picture posted up (amongst other famous Zetas) during Zeta week. I'm just asking because I'm actually going to meet her in person in a few weeks, and I certainly plan on asking.

Thanks in advance

I've heard that Jasmine Guy was a Zeta too. That supposed rumor has been going on for years. You can even google search it and it pulls up that she is an honorary member. However, the site is probably not official. Guess you can't believe everything you see and hear.
