Drunken Toasts!
 

Do any of you betas have any cheers, chants or toasts when drinking or just expressing pride?

I don't know if you guys use this but someone says,
"Whose Pater Knox?"
Then everyone jumps up and yells, "First in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his fellow greeks, ___ Kai ___, ___ Kai ___, Wooglin, Wooglin, Beta Theta Pi!"

I know the Santa Barbara Betas have a few little toast, i don't think it's beta related but we kind of adopted it,

So here's to the breeze, that blows through the trees, that lifts the skirt, above the knees, that reveals the spot, that teezes and pleases, wooooow jesus, what a snatch, down the hatch!

So here's to the girl in the little red shoes, she took all my money, and drank all my booze, she aint got no cherry, but that's not a sin, she still has the box, the cherry came in, What a snatch, down the hatch

My pledge class used that during our pledge semester...it was the only time we could say __kai__ or wooglin before we initiated.

We don't have any toasts, but pretty much every time we have a party with a dance/dj, we sing along, very drunkenly, to Piano Man. Usually one of the last songs of the night. Some really great memories of that moment...yes, very hazy memories.

I know there's gotta be more out there cause I've heard them before.

We use a slight vaiation of the "Whoses Pater Knox" chant as our victory cheer.

When you're saying this toast, you don't fill in those blanks, do you?!

yeah, first in war, first in peace... thats the war cry... thats what it says in the books

We say

"Zim Zam God Damn
Who the fuck am I?
Beta Theta Pi!"

Then chant Beta and theta and pi a couple times.

are there any more chants anyone can share or PM me? the beta expansion team refused to tell us any

i wonder why they wouldn't tell you? I know some of them and they seem like the types of guys that would.

nope...josh from the expansion team is against drinking, and he thinks drinking chants will encourage drinking

hmmmm, as far as drinking goes we only use it when we finish a loving cup. However we always use it after we win an IM game, it is a lot nicer than chanting what everyone else does. It is more of a victory chant for us than a drunken toast. If your chapter has a copy of "The Faithful Home Of The Three Stars", look on page 226 & 227. I hope this helps.

i remember after our initiation, the alumni were having a few drinks and they sang a beta drinking song, which was very humorous. does anyone know what im talking about, or have the lyrics to it? my brothers and i have seriously been looking for the words since november

I'm sure there are Beta drinking songs at several chapters, but I doubt that they would be published for fear of the AO thinking poorly of them. Our chapter has had a few toasts/chants in our day, but the alumni who started them have since moved on and I can't remember them.

Contact the brother's at Texas Tech, Toronto or The University of Houston they may still sing the party song. I can remember singing the party song around the pool at conventions in Boca Raton and Tan Tara.
I remember most of the words (Pledge knowledge) but it is way to long and full of to much colorful language for this site.
