Amanda's Wedding Thread

Ok, so we don't have a location or a date set yet. It is in the process. I want to find the location first and then set the date. We are wanting to have the ceremony/reception by the lake. Here are 2 dress I found over the weekend that I really like. The first one i'm in LOVE with. The sash would be a color bright blue (not primary blue, but a 'bright' blue).

I LOVE it!! And you look just lovely - like a princess!! Does the second have violets in the back?

In the second photo down, do you see the dress on the rack closest to you? Does that one look nice, too?

ASUADPi 04-03-2006 10:01 PM

Amanda-all three of them you look beautiful in!!!!

(although, me personally, partial to the first one because I like the sash. lol)

skerbow 04-04-2006 12:20 AM

I love them both Amanda!!

HBADPi 04-04-2006 12:27 AM

BobbyTheDon 04-04-2006 01:10 AM

LOL...no, they aren't violets, they are just the clips holding the dress on me. lol! it was a trunk show and so they didn't have dress in all the sizes.

GreekLetterGirl 04-04-2006 11:36 AM

my vote has to be for the 2nd dress. i'm in total agreement with HB.

Also your ring is awesome

congrats to you!

Lindz928 04-04-2006 02:59 PM

Those are both gorgeous dresses Amanda! My vote has to be for the first one though. I love the little bit of color and the skirt is so unique! I love it!!!

VAgirl18 04-04-2006 03:41 PM

i love the second dress. i guess i'm more traditional and think that color should stick to the bridesmaids' dresses.

FirstAndFinest 04-05-2006 08:58 PM

I love the buttons on the 2nd one. Kinda reminds me of the buttons on my first wedding gown. (sigh) Like VAgirl, I like color on the 'maids.

I want to get married again! I'd even keep this groom; I just want to have another wedding!

You look beautiful in both! And, even though you didn't ask us, I love the second one as well. It looks very sophisticated, but also just looks great on you! Now, keep this thread going with everything else "weddingly" so we'll know what's going on. I'm sure you want our advice on everything!:D

TN-TX ADPi 04-09-2006 06:01 PM

I like them both!! I have color on my dress (my wedding's in May) and I love it!!! Good luck with the planning and if you need any advice, I'll try to help :)

What does your dress look like?

Btw, I love your signature! Where did you find it?

TN-TX ADPi 04-11-2006 07:56 PM

Ok, I'm an idiot and can't get the picture to post. Any advice from ya'll???

honeychile 04-11-2006 08:17 PM

Quick tutorial for posting a picture:

-Find the photo you want.
-RIGHT click on the photo, and a menu should pop up.
-Click on Properties.
-Scroll down to where it says "Address". It should end in .jpg or .bmp
-Copy it by hitting both Ctrl & c at the same time.
-Go to where you want to post the picture.
-Type in .
-You can check to make sure you have it by Previewing prior to posting, but it should work!

OK- I couldn't get the actual pics to post, so here are links to pics of my dress. Only 6 more weeks til the big day!!

ASUADPi 04-15-2006 04:34 PM

None of the links work. All three say "page cannot be displayed"

TN-TX ADPi 04-15-2006 04:53 PM

GEEZ!!!! I give up on posting the pics. I'm not very computer savvy sometimes (well, most of the time). If y'all REALLY want to see the dress, it's style number E8252 from David's Bridal.
:)

Here's the "alternate view" - I couldn't get the address for the back, but you can see it by going to here

I love the splash of color - which combination did you choose?

Thanks!! I got the white/apple combo. It's not an available option anymore, but I ordered mine back in October.

I'm pretty traditional about most things, so I was really surprised when I knew this dress was "The One" . Even my ultra traditional 80 year old grandmother cried when she saw it and said how beautiful it was. I just can't wait for the day to get here so I can see how it all comes together.

It's stunning! What type of headdress are you going to wear with it?

TN-TX ADPi 04-15-2006 10:32 PM

I have the veil to match- the fingertip length with red edging. I'm trying to decide if I want to exchange it for the cathedral length, but I almost think that would take away from the dress.

I have a garnet/ruby/amethest brooch that belonged to the great-aunt I was named after that I am going to wear in my hair somehow. I think a soft curly french-twisty type 'do with the brooch on the side. Nothing too "fixed". Believe me, when it's all over, I will post TONS of pics for y'all to look at :)

peanutttu 04-27-2006 09:52 AM

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!! How funny!

It is a Watters and Watters dress.

TN-TX ADPi 04-28-2006 11:42 AM

Congrats on setting a date- now just try to enjoy the planning and don't get bogged down with the little things. I like the green-sash dress, too!

ADqtPiMel 06-04-2006 10:26 AM

So I'm pretty sure Amanda and I are going to have the same wedding...I just tried on the green sash dress and LOVED it.

peanutttu 06-15-2006 12:17 PM

LOL! How funny! I have found another one that is similar; same style....http://www.watters.com/product.php?c...ers&showid=389

The dress would obviously be white w/the apple green or aqua sash. This one I can get for about $350 vs the other one for $1200.00:) Who knows though..i haven't offically decided.

honeychile 06-27-2006 01:15 AM

They're both beautiful, I don't know how you can decide!

peanutttu 07-19-2006 03:23 PM

**UPDATE**

Ok, i bought the 1st dress (back on page one)....The designer was having their semi-annual sale and I got the dress for $150 (originally $1200)!!!!!!!!!:D :D (All of the brides dresses were $150 and bridesmaid dresses were $30!)

Needless to say...i was excited! Words could not express the excitement i felt on Saturday!:D

honeychile 07-20-2006 11:52 AM

Woo Hoo on Major Sales!! I got my wedding dress on sale, too, but not by that much!! Which color of sash did you decide to get?

texas*princess 07-20-2006 08:18 PM

Congrats on your dress Amanda! how exciting!

peanutttu 07-21-2006 08:49 PM
