L.L. Cool J hosts BET's 'Rip the Runway'
L.L. Cool J may have just entered the fashion business, but he's already making an impact. BET has tapped the aspiring designer to host "Rip the Runway," which premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET. Gabrielle Union will co-host the hour, which features urban, high-end, plus size, sports and swimwear collections from designers like Brand Jordan, G-Unit, Enyce, Stephen Burrows, Bathhouse, Aqua Couture, Qristy Designs, L.L.'s own Todd Smith collection, and even Paul Wall's new line of grills. Three 6 Mafia, Busta Rhymes, T.I., Mobb Deep, Christina Milian and Ne-Yo performed while celebrity models like Mya, Big Tigger and new Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens modeled the clothes.

Sounds interesting. I'll watch it if I'm at home. I want to see how the setting will be. I'm also anticipating the fashion and dialouge due to the urban feel that it's presenting.

Plaid suits are straight up baaaaaaaamaaaaaaaaaaa.
Some of the suits look much nicer on these models than they do on Steve Harvey.:eek: :o

Tocarra looks so good, although her breasts were doing a whole lot in that 1st outfit. Now some of the other girls :eek: Also, I just realized that I could never be a plus sized model b/c I refuse to walk to a song called 'Sister Big Bone' that references gibblets.

I want these big guhls, especially Tocarra, to put on some bras. They do make them--use them! :mad: Otherwise, homegirls ARE.WORKING.IT. And they wanna work out Anthony Hamilton, too, apparently! :p

But I loooveee the concept and the love and spirit and designers behind this show...I usually don't even support BET for the H.A.M. they put out! Someone in programming is starting to get it *I hope*. :rolleyes:

Overall it was a fun show, but I need for someone to design clothing that can be worn beyond this season and by a woman over the age of 25. Everything was ultra trendy and sporty. It was fun, but I just didn't see looks that I could really see myself buying or duplicating.

I'm a plus size girl, so I had to love it.

I wanted some of those clothes. Tocarra's last outfit was nice....I want that black dress!!!! So I'm on the net now trying to find it. I wish LB was step their game up. **sigh**

Tocorra's last dress was very nice! I also liked the pink dress that the blonde had on.

I was getting a little peeved at LL for all of the lip licking, but he's back ok with me for saying "No more plus size, for now on, we're calling this size sexy".... :)

He wore a similar hat when he was here in March. He is introducing the hat and "leisure suit" as an alternative to the standard suits in his collection.

AGREED. The first group of ladies looked like they had on long tshirts...who would wear that? I LOVED the Jordan Collection, especially the outfit Mya had on.

Did anyone notice the Louisiana girl who got kicked of from ANTM was on the runway for one of the lines? I thought no one could could get any gigs until the winner was announced. I guess it was ok since her dismissal was already aired. She still still had the lost and confused look on her face.

I really liked the plus-sized segment. It was done very tastefully. I wanted to give LL some chapstick because at the rate he was licking his lips, they were gonna dry out.

I just watched it on DVR..and some of these can NOT walk. Our campus hosts a fashion every year, and those models work the runway..

I guess I'm the only one who wasnt feeling the show..althou, I did like Christina millian's new song.

I can believe that because that's where it belongs. Or Walmart! :p

Did anyone notice "MYA"- the singer, in the very beginning of the show? I think she came out when TI was singing.

I liked the plus size segment too. Those girls were working it out.
