Did anyone catch the premeire of this HBO show? I thought it was so interesting...a modern day polygamist. I can't wait to watch next Sunday.

I tivo'ed it, but I haven't finished watching it. I'll let you know what I think.

I watched it. It was cool. For some reason, I suspected the mom all along.

It was interesting to watch. I actually have a friend who is sort of in that type of arrangement. She says it works for her and takes the pressure off at times. I guess to each is own.

when i saw the intro special for it i knew that i wanted to watch it. didn't catch it though. so it comes on sundays--what time?

Me too. I don't know what he did but I sort of feel sorry for her. That is in a Lorena Bobbitt sort of way.

I also think that Rhonda is going to turn out to be a H.A.M. Poor thing.

Finally, HC Chloe Sevigny always plays crazy people.

I caught a rerun last night, and I like how they showed some of the realities of a polygamous lifestyle. I know that there was some concern from the Mormon community (who banned this lifestyle some time ago) that this show would romanticize polygamy and downplay some of the injustices that take place in these large communities. I was pleased to see that it appears to be a balanced view point.

Actually I think it's the man who gives her the tea or whatever it is for the father to drink. It seems like he's the leader of the group. Maybe they'll be more to talk about next week. :D

I hope it doesn't die early though. I loved Carnivale and that was cancelled. :rolleyes:

Cuz Chloe is crazy. I saw a picture of her looking like Col. Sanders in a white suit with that Col. Sanders tie.

That's show was, well, interesting, but I would NOT be the one involved with that H.A.M. It's too much to deal with and reconcile with my ownself...

I guess it's Sex And the City for Polygamists... I just hope it doesn't turn into another Oz and everyone gets busy crankin' out babies...

I' ve been watching this show too and have been pretty impressed with it. It's a typical HBO style show which I love b/c they are so different from regular primetime shows. Ginnifer Goodwin is probably my favorite out of the three wives (love the car comments she keeps bringing up)!

Surprisingly, this show has me captivated... i hope it sticks around

I am so digging this show...with having digital cable for some reason they had episode 3 on this pst week, this show is very interesting, and the dude that plays the propet is way creepy.

I just watched all 3 episodes today actually. Very watchable...When does it usually come on? (I caught it on ONDEMAND)

What was up with that incest-y looking scene with Nikki and Roman in the bedroom with the door shut. He is one creepy, gross, dude.

He reminds me of Preacher Kane from Poltergeist II.

That's funny, because my supervisor said the same thing, but she's the one I like. I can't explain why, but she definitely has issues, lol.

I see Nikki really screwing up the family in the very near future. And what was that scene with her and her dad? It just screamed INCEST!!!

Okay, and Margie is going to sleep with her stepson (that's if he's isn't gay) if Bill ever stops paying attention to her.

LOL @ twisted goodness!!! But I agree, that did look quite incest-like with Nikki and her father. I also agree that Margine is going to sleep with her stepson. They're just too cuddly buddy.

I had the impression that he would turn out gay. And why do I keep wanting to call her Margerine?

ETA: I DVR-ed the show for sunday at 10, but it taped episode 3 instead, wasnt there not a new episode this week?

I finally got to finish watching the last episode.

I love my dad and all..but I'm not jumping up and down when he comes around and laughing with him on the bed. And why did the father look SOOOOO guilty? :eek:

LOL. Poor Margene she didn't realize that she was dealing with crazy people

Aside from all the polygamy, it goes to show that everyone's family is crazy and no one is perfect.

You are ahead. There have only been 3 episodes. On-Demand puts up the new episodes the morning of the premiere day. I was happy to discover that so I can watch Grey's Anatomy.

i took her excitement to be from not seeing him too much. the man said he has 31 kids!! i reckon she don't get to spend too much time with her daddy.

That scene wierded me out too. I wonder if they were trying to give us some kind of forshadowing? Niki is my least favorite too out of all the wives - she's so competitive and nasty about everything. This last episode was my favorite so far though! I didn't get the ending with the alarm goign off though - did anyone understand the symbolism behind that? Was it b/c it was going off in three houses?

Am I the only one who thinks that some kind of lesbian plot will develop between the daughter and her co-worker at the fast food place? The co-worker (girl from Napoleon Dynamite) is weird, I think she's a lesbian.

And why is Marge hanging out with that crazy couple across the street? She is sooooo naive!

And Soror SKEEphistAKAte, Yes, I think something is going to develop between the daughter and the girl she works with. That girl is too weird (but she has really grown since her days of being the daughter in the movie "Corrina, Corrina.")

I think that the son is a rockstar and is gonna get at least 3 girls pregnant before he turns 18.

I feel so dirty watching this show :(
