So Bush lied again?
Well it seems like another week, another scandal for Bush to deal with... funny thing about this one is that it was pretty much dead and buried...
So according to Bush and the Administration: Bush wasn't aware of the problem in New Orleans, and wasn't aware until some aids brought him the news; no could have predicted the failure of the levees or flooding; and the federal authorities mobilized when the local authorities were overwhlemed... But then whats this? http://movies.crooksandliars.com/ap_...pe_060301d.wmv Why it looks like a Katrina video-conference including both FEMA and Bush, which includes direct warnings about the levees, Brown expressing cancern about the Superdome Plan, and good'ol Bush sitting there listening to it all... |
Come on man at this point it's not even lying....it's just regular Bush behavior in other words it's just Bush being Bush.
|
He lied!?!? Surprise, surprise

He's lied before, and will no doubt lie again. Remember, though, that this is not a new thing, or strictly a Bush thing or even a Republican thing. Remember this quote? "I did not have sex with that woman." That was President Clinton as I recall. |
presidents lie....
politicians lie.... almost everyone lies... WE KNOW they lie.... yet it is a surprise when it proven that they lied |

What would you have done? Your country can't even put together a decent hockey team. |

Everyone knows that the media is full of lies and nobody trusts them -- especially the White House. |
There was also a special on the History channel or Discovery about NO, LA and the levees and severe Hurricanes.....right before Katrina hit....
go figure |

Don't you feel bad for "Brownie" now? Poor guy got completely blamed and fired, and he was the only one of the non-experts talking sense.

Harry S Truman once had a little item on His Desk in the White House that said "The Buck Stops Here".
There is more Buck Passing now than ever before. Whinning, I didnt do it, He did!:o But remember, being a Polotician is not an easy thing to do anymore. Just making money as a full time Avocation. "They are Our Duley Elected Morons who make $$$ from our backs and pay checks. Perks are a little known thing that is something that makes them money and dont want anyone to mess with it! DeltAlum is 100% correct, the lips are moving, they are lieing. |
OK he lied, but how much of this is about that as opposed to you just hating Bush?
I obviously am just too worn out but what's the point. -Rudey |

Can he get impeached over this? |

Nobody died when Clinton lied...
But the thing is not only National Geographic, but NOAA and several strongly funded think tanks predicted what a Hurricane would do if it hit NOLA... Especially after Georges.
That's my thing. But, you know, everyone needs to be voted out of office. Everyone. And I agree with Tom, too much buck passing--no accountability. I do miss the days of Oliver North. And at least Pres. Reagan thought he forgot... Dayum I miss those days... Only person that stands up and admits stuff is Notorious V.P. tricky bionic Dick Cheney... I mean he's hardcore... I've deduced that he's the Debil... |
It amazes me that everytime someone brings up or proves that this guy (Bush) is a screwup theres always somebody who says that the person is a Bush hater.....image if this line of thinking would apply to athletics.....example Temple's football team isn't bad, you guys just hate Temple.

I completely agree on how bad the tapes make Bush look, eventhough I am a supporter. However, I was fully aware that the hurricane was a reality even before it hit, and that it would probobly be pretty damn horrible, which it was. All it took was watching the weather channel and listening to the news and the radio. I didn't need President Bush to tell me that the liklihood of a natural disaster was very certain and that I should avoid going to NO at all costs around the time of the storm.

Latest news on this is that after reviewing the tapes, and I am talking about the ones of Max Mayfield of the Hurricane Center, is that he told Bush he was concerned about the levees breaching, which means flooding over, not breaking.
I'm with Rudey. Exhausted and realizing that seeking the truth is futility. And I don't care to argue. Minds are made up. I wouldn't attempt to confuse 'em with the facts. |

Everyone should have known? Does that include Democrats and the people that decided to stay in New Orleans? |
