stupid freaking *&&^#)%( NFL salary cap
I hate the world. The Broncos waived Mike Anderson, Trevor Pryce, and Jeb Putzier. WHO CUTS MIKE ANDERSON?!!!!! My cats would know better than to do something that stupid.
Maybe TO brought some crack when he came out to meet with Shanahan and they're all smoking it right now. What's up with TO anyway? ETA: Is your team doing anything this stupid?!!! |

That's the NFL these days, especially if the cap doesn't go up. Pryce was due to make about 11 million, and Anderson's cap number was around $3 million. They may end up coming back, but it will be at a lower number.
I remember, a couple of years ago I was upset because the Giants cut ties with Jesse Armstead (at the time, my favorite player). That's just the way it goes in the NFL with non-guaranteed contracts and a salary cap. |
I just hate it. I know it's wrong, but I get attached to players. I was stressed before the NBA trade deadline, and that ended up being fine for me. But this?! Ew. Mike Anderson was my favorite Bronco. I wouldn't be so bummed if they cut anybody else, except, say, John Lynch or Al Wilson.

My team is the Eagles. They will be $20 million under the cap when they finally cut T.O. :D
|
The Bears are actually in very good cap shape this year. :D
I think cutting Mike Anderson is going to come back to haunt the Broncos. Bad move. |
my dad played for the eagles from 76 - 82....seriously

oh shut you liar. name him or else we all know you're full of shit |
the panthers cut stephen davis... are you Friggin serious?????
I hope the browns grab him so they get a good run game to support the poor qb situation... |

Actually. I think I heard on some sports radio talk that Stephen Davis is retiring because of his injuries. |
is he really that worn out??? I thought people were just saying that because he had last year off...
do you think mike anderson could do something for the browns?? |

There are tons of quality RBs coming up in the draft you know? I have no idea where the browns are picking, but Lendale White, DeAngelo Williams, Laurence Maroney are some good names. Mike ANderson cuold help out, but Ruben Droughns isn't so shabby either you know? But he is injury prone :( Davis had alot of problem with his back last year. And I know his disc has been bugging him all his career. |
I forgot about the draft backs coming... too bad they couldnt get reggie lol... but white wouldnt be too bad.
I like ruben but like u said he gets hurt too often. I would just like to see them as contenders this year. |

Davis has had injury problems since his days with the Redskins; his running style has probably only aggravated those injuries. It sounds like there could be more big-name cuts coming in the days ahead. Val, I hear you on all of this. The NFL is tough, in that there is so much turnover around cut season. No one stays in one place anymore. |
hey OhioCentaur,
the Browns have the 12th pick. That puts them in great position to pick up a good RB |

Lions have #9. Lets hope they take another reciever this year! |
i tell you what. If i were the browns, I'd trade up and pick up Cutler, and sign Anderson as a RB.
A QB is more important than a RB. Cutler is a bad ass too |

he's a good QB. I mean, I'm not a pro scout though you know? He's just as good as Matt in my opinion (talent wise), but Matt has better size, has played in a pro style system already, and is super poised. I'm not saying Cutler isn't poised, but with Matt, he's a more proven. His resume is more impressive. Vince Young will get drafted high because of his unique ability. He's a stud. You canot deny him that, but pro coaches hate the fact that he just can't throw the damn ball. He can run all he wants in college, but in the NFL he is gonna take a beating. Ask Vick. Pro defensive players are smarter, bigger, stronger and just as fast as Vince Young. |

Yeah dude. He's a good corner. Good corners are a premium in the NFL. He's a little skinny but he's got good height. He'll gain some more weight. He's gotta learn to be more physical because he can't just rely on his speed against Big 10 recievers anymore. I just checked on ESPN.com and it said that Pennington is expected to get cut. I know the JETS have the #4 pick. I would really LOVE to see Matt Leinart go to NY. He's got NY written all over him. NY needs to trade up to #2 and get him NOW! I hope the top 4 goes like this... `1- Reggie (Texas) 2- Leinart (NY) 3- Cutler (Tenn) 4- Vince Young (Saints) You know chow would want a QB like Cutler to run his offense instead of Vince. :) |
Does anybody have that ESPN Insider/Magazine thing? Every time I want to read something on the site, it's "Insider only" -- worth it or no? I already get SI, so maybe this would be overkill.

I know right? DOesn't it piss you off that you want to read the coooool insider stuff? But anyways, whats funny is that once you read the insider stuff, you'll see that itsj ust a bunch of baloney. All stupid rumors. |
Quote:
Bobby's right; a lot of it is rumors. However, there are some good columnists (Mel Kiper, Peter Gammons, Rob Neyer) who are doing mostly Insider pieces now. Around this time of year, I like reading the combine and draft reports from Mel Kiper and Todd McShay. It makes it all the better when Kiper starts frothing at the mouth on draft day because someone ignored his rankings. |
