super effort....
for the critics of Tom Earp...you oughta have seen the great greek article in the Pittsburg (KS) Headlight/Sun where they
featured Lambda Chi Alpha and the dedication of one alum, our Tom Earp. He got them a house built and has taken them from one member to twenty one! He upped his, now up yours! |
can you post us the article? i googled for it and received nothing.
and 3 cheers for tom earp, eh? |
I can't find it either. :(
|
Erik, could you please give us a link? I'm not coming up with anything, either.
|
Thank You Erik for the kind words!:)
But, I am just one cog on the total wheel of rejuvination of The Pittsburg Chapter. Granted, I did get get the wheel rolling, but it took a lot of work by many Alums to get accomplished what is transpiring now. Heck, I just couldnt let the Chapter die!:D Edited to add: Lambda Chi Alpha inducts new members By KEVIN FLAHERTY Morning Sun Staff Writer Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity just multiplied its membership by seven. The fraternity installed 21 new students last week, the latest effort to build up its membership. The fraternity previously only had one active member, Chris Beyer, and a couple of associate members. Beyer is set to graduate in May. The 21 members, who were inducted at Pittsburg State University's Timmons Chapel, include: Steve Anderson, Chris Anderson, Cody Freeze, Billy Grassie, Brandon Iloilo, Mark Jansen, Caleb Linn, Wesley Nimmo, Taylor Rainy, Brett Ritchey, Jarrod Rogol, Zach Russel, AJ Stuterman, Ryan Sullivan, Kevin Freeman, Dillan Fullerton, Kyle Hughes, Kyle Kunkle, Robert Wan Wey, Garrett Beckman and Richard Hoyt. "It's just great, we're really excited," said Josh Lodolo, Lambda Chi expansion leader. "We had a number of other candidates that we didn't get to, so we've been talking about sending a couple of staff members back to talk to them next week." Lodolo was in charge of reinvigorating the fraternity. The newly rebuilt Lambda Chi chapter had been close to dying out fairly recently following the loss of its house, which dropped active membership from 30 members to one. The new members will have the advantage of a new house, one much nicer than the structure that Lodolo had likened to the Delta house in "Animal House." In the next few weeks, the fraternity expects to complete a more than $1 million chapter house that will include capacity for 16 members, with the possibility to expand to 20 in the future. Members will be able to move in starting fall 2006. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are a few errors only 3/4 Mil. Their Math is wrong too, from 1 Active to 21 New Associates. Oh Well, it is still working and growing! |
I couldn't find it either (is it only in the print version?), but found link to article on the chapter and another one on their rebuilding which are also good reads :)
Good job! |
These things are seldom accomplished to one person, but even Tom's dectractors know how committed he is to his chapter and his fraternity.
I hope everyone can take a moment to say congratulations to a Brother Greek. Way to go, Tom. |
Congratulations!

Tom,
Bigtime applause!!! These things take lots of behind the scenes work and we applaud your dedicated to your org and the Greek community. Denise |
Thank You each and everyone of You!
To take some credit, I did a lot of things I shouldnt have done or most wouldnt. But You know Me, I just dont give up.:D There was a lot of Alums (Some) who stayed the course. We should have been closed for Numbers and that is an important thing to remember. Not NPC Numbers, but Our Numbers. A lt of behind the scenes thing that I did or had a hand in bore some fruit. I pressed many buttons and talked to a lot of people in IHQ. (Kissed a few Asses or smoozed maybe).;) With the effort, IHQ did decide to come to our aid, and beleive Me, this is a first over our History. A new Legislative Staff is in place and the Idea has changed. It must have been a big thing as They are still working with us to keep the momentum going. This cost money that is spent from Dues and Alum Donations, so they figured something is there that is worth spending the money for. This has also changed the minds of those in IHQ, but all over LXA. The Brothers from Drury and Kansas State have been very, very helpful and that is also what it is all about. As I mentioned that there were a few Alums who have been striving to keep things going, all of a sudden, Alums are starting to step back into the picture. I can go into much more, but I am getting very long winded here. But, for all of You out there with problems, remember, have faith and keep working! I hate to say it, but I wish like Hell that NPC Groups would get with the program and quit being so prudish. Growth helps the Greek System not insulating Yourselves into a corner. TEKE wants to come back on My Campus and I would welcome them. But, there are 3, yes 3 Sororitys and 6 Frateritys and if TKE comes Back on after being gone for many years that is 7 NIC! So, where is NPC GLOs? As I said earlier, I am one person and I did and have done a hell of a lot, but it takes a lot more doesnt it? |
Good going! Congratulations!
|

Great job Tom, Brother Greek. You are a true brother to your chapter and the work you do is super great. I'm so happy I can hardly control myself.
|

|
Bravo, Tom!
I can't believe Hoosier didn't post this article when it first came out. Too positive, I guess? |
