Sorority Life

I know the show is kinda old, but does anyone have MTV's Sorority Life 2 or 3 that they would sell a copy of? Or trade for season 1? Please reply or PM me. Thanks!

I've got a hunch that no one here does. :)

I would look on MTV's site and see if they have a "store" area or try ebay.

For the same reason that some people in marching band love the movie Drumline, or some geology students (myself) love the movie The Core. They're dramatic incarnations of a subculture that we can make fun of because we know the truth.

Actually, I was in marching band all throughout high school and part of college, and I just saw Drumline for the first time about three weeks ago. It was a terrible movie. I agree w/ what you're saying that it's a highly dramatized version of real life, but the inaccruacies got on my nerves and the storyline was just awful. I was especially amused by all the "KKPsi" stuff, since I was in KKPsi. :)

/end hijack

Same reason we rubber-neck car accidents and train wrecks.

It seems like they only get chapters from california and stuff... i'd love to see a version of that show from a decent fraternity in the south... it'd be alot different

georgewallace3 02-22-2006 12:26 PM

one of those MTV shows went to Ole Miss from what I hear, and they wouldnt allow them in any of the houses.

whe The Real World was in Austin, they couldn't go in any bars on 6th Street because everone gave them so much shit. Thats why you only saw them at the Dizzy Rooster. Probobly the most GDI bar in Austin.

Agreed. Especially since the sticking didn't go at all with the sound that was supposedly coming out of the drum.:)

georgewallace3 02-22-2006 12:31 PM

well actually, I read that all of the drumming in the movie, and all of the band playing was all real, filmed live, and played by members of bands. I also read that the lead Black guy character also did all of his own drumming.

And which drugs were you on when you read that article??

I don't think Nick Cannon did alot of that drumming.

georgewallace3 02-22-2006 12:43 PM

maybe not the lead....but I did read that the band members were all real and did their own stuff.....hey could be wrong....could be write.....could have been doing alot of blow....who knows

how do you know that he doesnt play the drums though? would you have thought Nelly was a pro baseball player.....or that Master P could have played in the NBA? Or that Bernie Williams is a jazz guitarist?

I'm trying to see if it's on any of the torrent sites. I'll let you know if I find anything. I too enjoy the trainwreck aspect.

YES -- http://realworldroadrules.blogspot.com -- go there for more info.

When the RW filmed in Hawaii 6 years ago, they too had to avoid going to the popular bars. Eventually they weren't welcome on campus, either. Ruthie was taking classes that semester but after the first few weeks, admin didn't allow cameras on campus.

Is it true that parts of you appeared on camera?

?????????

I live and go to college in the south, and I am honestly sick and tired of little sorority girls who try to come across as being so sweet, pure and moral, when most of them really aren't. Having gone to some of the frat parties and other things, they try to act so innoncent in pure when they are in the publics eye, however they are just as promisquous, naive, arrogant and immoral as anyone else on the campus, if not more because they are stuck up. This is coming from some one in a faternity too. Just act like the person you know you are, and don't try to be fake. If they would have filmed the soririty life in the south it would have been just as bad, if not worse, but the some of th girls would not let the camaras in. They would have tried to act all sweet and moral to the camera, and then went and did the same things that any other college student does who may be looked down on by them. So fake

I guess his campus has faternities and soririties. They must not be top tier.

You're using Alexandra Robbins as your source? Seriously? That's like using Law & Order or CSI as a source for a law school thesis. Hey dani, which episodes did you quote for your thesis??;) ;)

There's nothing to defend. Robbins isn't an expert on anything and she never provided factual proof on anything. And I can't even understand your posts so I can't comment on them.

BTW, your post is a violation of the TOS of this site as well as a violation of federal copyright law.

Why would she lie about her personal experiences, and then write a entire book about it. Everyone including, you girls, know this is the kind of stuff that goes on-boob ranking, making out with eachother. Just make it easier on yourselves and admit that these kindof activities go on. ALso, she documents her experiences from personal experiences. Yes, that is factual

AUDeltaGam 03-09-2006 04:32 PM

CRAP...I knew I joined the wrong sorority! We NEVER ranked boobs!

Seriously, being anti-greek on a greek message board doesn't work in your favor.

If that's what actually happens, then I feel like completely ripped off in my sorority life since I didn't experience any of that.

If you are really truly interested in this topic, read the bazillion other thread on this website about it, where all of your comments have already been addressed.

You seem really bitter... guess those girls in those evil "soririties" don't give you much love.
