Best tv show ever: MTV's Fat Camp
This is hilarious. I am probably late to this and it's been on before.
These fat kids crack me up. And the counselors act all cool because they used to be fat and now they're just pudgy. And nobody can be upset that I used the word fat. They're in Fat Camp and constantly refer to themselves as fat. -Rudey --I wish I had four hands so I could give it 4 thumbs up |
I saw this last night and thought it was a new show but Rudey it was only a special made for tv documentary so its not going to be a reoccuring thing.
I love the counselor they kicked out and how pissed off the camp director got at her. ...this whole thing is a train wreck...Rudey you'd totally be that kid Pete who pretends he's a ladies man but his game is so off :) |
Holy crap I watched it too and loved EVERY MINUTE OF IT.
I was upset that Matt put the weight back on though :( |

But I stepped away from the TV when Marisa/Mo (the Junior Counselor) left camp early. Why did she leave? And Dianne....oh Dianne. Where do I begin? |

OMG! I just watched it too! I thought it was going to be similar to one that they showed awhile back. I didn't get to see the whole second hour, but it was hilarious from what I saw! Does it show a recap for all of them at the end? If so, I'll have to watch it again!

You remind me of that girl that wore glasses and screamed "If it wasn't true you wouldn't be leaving" or something like that. Although you slightly remind me of that chick that smoked and kept gaining weight and getting involved in all the drama that got sent home. I can't decide which one is you. Anyway. Awesome show. -Rudey |
Can someone give a recap of the second half (hour) of the show?
I had to turn right after Diane was having fits when she dropped her towel on the way to the bathroom. Did Petey and Melanie break up? Did he get his ass kicked (I was hoping someone would do that)? Did Dianne lose some weight? Was she a little...ummmm, "touched" in the head? She seemed kind of "off" to me. Did Matt and Mo break up? |
The 2nd half revolved mostly around the whole Mo/Matt/Petey love triangle and was kind of boring.
They all lost weight...Matt lost about 30 lbs and and Petey lost about 20. All of the girls lost less, but I think they lost between 15-20 lbs for the most part. Matt was the only one that gained it all back and one of the girls gained half of theirs back. Matt and Mo broke up after camp was over and Mo keeps in touch with Petey still. Dianne is at public high school and Mo won homecoming queen. Braelyn the counselor that got kicked out said she'll never return to camp again. Petey and Mo both want to return as counselors and I think the others are considering returning as campers. |

I don't know which Dianne moment was better:
Losing her towel and crying about how her roommates hated her (OH MY GOD I AM BLIND!!!) or Sweet Home Alabama It looked like she lacked lots of social skills, and I'm glad she's not homeschooled anymore. |
Quote:
I kept thinking how bad her social skills were, and how the transition to a public hs would be rough for her. |
This sounds like it's up my alley...what time is it on?

And I keep thinking about Mo -- the top half doesn't look to bad. You can tell she's lost a lot of weight...but I totally feel sorry for her because now she's gonna be known as "the girl who took her top off and exposed her bra and extra levels." Now that she's lost that weight, how's she going to get rid of all that extra skin? |
It's on right now.
Why wont that fat little girl not take showers? What a little bitch. |
i saw this show last night. that one boy afraid to kiss a girl was hilarious. you could tell that she was ready for a kiss.
another show on mtv that is funny is "parental control." |
Quote:
That's why I couldn't understand why Mo had to blow up at them. I mean, this is coming from a girl who freaking cried because she fell out of a CHAIR. |
Quote:
I only saw about 20 minutes of it, but it started with her falling and ended with her still not showering. |
I've seen it rerun twice already this weekend, if anyone missed it I'm sure it will be on 2938742 times.
|
Ok, I have a legitimate question here-on the show, all you see the kids doing is working out all day long. Which is great and all, but obviously you can't keep that up in the real world. I was wondering if they also offer like, nutrition classes, or info on food choices-stuff the kids will take with them when they leave camp?
Or is that why they gain all the weight back? |

They had to have been doing something active because most of them lost a few pounds during their weekly weigh-ins. |
I LOVED this show. Dianne had more than a few "issues" and her mother seemed to be a big driving force behind them. What was the name of that other girl who sucked so bad? She was the counselor that got kicked out and had a horrrrible attitude.
On a side note, I was shocked that they didn't lose more weight. For the size that most of them were, 3-5 lbs a week is not much at all. |
Quote:
Bad attitude girl's name is Braelyn. Does anyone know how much their parents pay to send them to that place? |
it's like 8000$-I think it's probably about the average amount you pay for normal summer long sleep-away camps right??? I'm sure they probably have "sessions" as well-did anyone besides me think that some of the people at fat camp...well, really had no need to be there? like in the background I kept seeing alot of skinny/average people, so im like..."wtf is your parent doing paying 8k to send you to a place you don't NEED to go to!"
Anyways, Loved Matt and Mo! Petey annoyed the crap outta me-reminded me of this annoying kid I went to H.S. with, lol. But Diane?! What can I say... Did anyone else crack up when Petey was like "there's this weird girl that keep saying hi to me!" and then Diane walks by and says hi! |
MTV is for GDI's

You honestly think that they'd be losing more than 3-5 lbs a week? Does 10 lbs seem more ideal? While 3-5 lbs a week may not seem like a lot, it's considered healthy. Losing mass amounts of weight in a short period of time can totally screw over your body over. Even with shows like Celebrity Fit Club, they usually set target loss at 4-6 lbs. At the end those 3-5 lbs add up, and we saw that with Petey. You could totally tell that he looked better after losing 27 lbs. |
Definetely gotta agree with you on healthy weightloss. When I was younger my best friends mom dropped from like 330 to like 140 in literally, no more than a few months (she was taking some sort of pills and was pretty close to starving herself). She could fit into a size 12, but good lord, her body just looked TERRIBLE! Now I know when you lose that much weight period, your skin will sag. But this was just beyyyonnddd what it shouldve been. No muscle, no form, no nothing. Just skin. Even her face was awful!

While losing mass amounts of weight rapidly may be bad for your health, I'd be willing to bet that being obese is far worse for overall health. People who have their stomachs reduced lose TONS of weight all at once and are better off for it (even though they're left with lots of extra skin, which is just a result of them stretching it out with their excess weight gain). |
Quote:
You are definately right. It is much easier for obese people to lose more weight a week than others. |

I think we just need to remember that the weight took a long time to pile on, so it's just not going to "fall off", despite working hard! |
Quote:
I think i stand to lose a little weight (around 20 lbs...i'm 135). But to me, 3-5 lbs a week is A LOT...maybe i'm wrong though. |

how tall are you? the more obese you are, the easier it is to lose 3-5 lbs a week. The less obese you are, the harder it is. But even then, losing 3-5 lbs a week if you aren't obese is unhealthy and not recommended. But if you are a tub of lard like these kids, and you can't lose 3 lbs then they are doing something wrong. |

Its a bummer though cause before I entered high school I was around 120...which was pretty good...and then by the end of high school I had ballooned up to 140, and now i'm back to 135. Eventually i'd like to get to 110-120, but i'm kinda working my way there...hopefully by June, i'll have my "beach body." lol. But it is serious hard for me to keep the weight off, and I guess being a fast food addict doesn't help..lol. |
