Texas State Convention
 

I was just wondering if any of the other Texas ladies will be there.

I am pretty sure that I will be going to represent our alumnae association and would love to see some other GC ADPis there. Anyone going? :)

I'm just now getting on the ball with contacting the Houston AA! I'd love to get involved with this!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to the actual convention due to prior committments. If not, we should all try to meet up when yall aren't tied up with convention activities!!!:D

I don't think we have decided yet. There are plenty of places close to the hotel that we could meet at. Whatever is convenient for all of you convention attendees.

I'm a nerd and don't even know when Texas convention is.

The convention is NEXT weekend (the first weekend in March). I registered late, so if you're interested in going, you might want to check with the lady- you might still be able to get signed up. :)

Hey ladies! Ok, I know this is probably dumb, but on the schedule for the convention, it says that the awards dinner banquet is "after 5" attire. I am still confused by what that means. Is it cocktail/pref-type dress? Or more formal?

Looking forward to seeing some of ya'll this weekend! :)

I'm wearing a black velvet skirt and top with sparklies on the top, so that it's not ALL black.
It's the only thing I have that fits, so it will have to do.

Hey ladies- so it sounds like there are 3 or 4 of us going with 2 more that are up for happy hour, but not attending the convention. Did I count that up right? Does Friday or Saturday work better for a get together? I've been invited to a dinner on Friday night along with the ladies I'm hitching a ride with. So, since I'm not sure when that is, Friday night is out for me. That leaves Saturday sometime during the free time or during the Alumnae Networking get together. That's sometime between 2:30-6:30 or after 9:30 for the two of you not attending. What do you think? We have to decide today because I'm leaving my house at 7:30 in the morning tommorow and would like to know when it is, so that I can be there with my camera!

Just let me know what works best for all of you! I'm pretty flexible. The are tons of places right around that area to meet up at, or we could just meet at the bar there in the hotel. Whatever is most convenient for those actually attending the convention.

Saturday would be my vote probably. And if we meet at the hotel bar (is there one?), then it would be easy for all of us that will be at the convention.

ETA: I don't want to just post my cell phone # up here, but anyone who is gonna be around, PM me before like 11:30 tomorrow and I'll send it to you. I can't wait to meet everyone! :)

After five usually means cocktail dress to semi-formal.

Last year I wore a nice silk dress that was from Ann Taylor with a pashmina over it. There was a bit of everything there. I'm not too sure how dressy I'll be this year.

Lindz, I'll PM you with my #. Sat is the best choice, however last year in Beaumont, they had wine and cheese etc at the networking party. I have no idea of what is planned for this one. With that, I'm always ready for some cocktails with the sistas!

Well, Texas State Convention is over. It was an interesting and informative experience. I was able to meet Lindz, already knew Lonestaradpi and by chance met WLFEO in the mall! (What a small world ADPi is!)

I'm so sorry I missed it. Sorry I missed your call Lindz. My phone was in the bottom of my purse and I never heard it. By the time I checked it, it was too late. I'm so sad I didn't get to make it.

We definitely missed ya!!! I'm hoping to make it to Dallas again soon, so we'll have to try for a meeting again. :)
