The one with the bear? I was kinda disappointed in that one...it was kinda drab.

I liked Burger King -- dropping all the chicks into that burger and Brooke Burke at the end!

honeychile 02-05-2006 08:21 PM

I liked the Ameriquest one, with the doctors standing over the guy in the hospital, getting the paddles ready to shock the patient's heart - but there's a fly buzzing about. Outside the door are the patient's wife & daughter, all smiles with a balloon. The one doctor kills the fly with the paddle, and says, "Well, he's dead." The wife & daughter stand in the doorway, shocked.

<-- has a very sick sense of humor!

A girl has every right to feel beautiful.

Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty...with the kids singing "True Colors". THAT WAS GREAT.

Schmeer 02-05-2006 08:31 PM

Okay, Michelob Ultra wins so far.

You were open, now you're CLOSED!

The1calledTKE 02-05-2006 08:59 PM

The sheep streaker in the clydesdales football game was pretty funny.

honeychile 02-05-2006 09:05 PM

^^ was good.

Liked the "anti-theft device", too!

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-05-2006 09:06 PM

I love the Dove one and the one with the guy in sports heaven (where he's walking down the street and there's NASCAR in the streets, a marching band in the park, track runners sprinting by...)

Schmeer 02-05-2006 09:08 PM

I liked the United one...very interesting...

Ummm, I dont' like the "gonna have to face it your addicted to LOST commercial..." cool idea, but BAD song.

That's my favorite.

I'm not sure if it has been shown yet because *gasp* I don't watch TV, but I like the MacGyver Mastercard commercial (I saw it on a Super Bowl Commercial Website). Mind you, I have had a crush on Richard Dean Anderson for most of my life. . . .

Okay, the Disney World one was really, really bad! Everyone's been there, it's nothing new. It's like saying, "I'm going to the corner market."

Schmeer 02-05-2006 09:27 PM

Okay - just saw Disney World commercial.

BEST. EVER.

PoohsHoneyBee 02-05-2006 09:53 PM

i like the nfl commercial, the little gearing wearing "anyone but dallas" t-shirt is tooo cute ;)

Schmeer 02-05-2006 09:57 PM

Hahah Career Builder was good too.

"I work with a bunch of Jackasses."

SigmaChiCard 02-05-2006 10:15 PM

mine was the sprint commercial about crime deterrent...i don't know why but i find that one hilarious.

honeychile 02-05-2006 10:27 PM

Sir Paul!!!!!!

Need I say more? :D

DaffyKD 02-05-2006 10:36 PM

I am really sick today and slept until just before the 75 yd td. I love the Bud commercial where the baby horse thinks he is pulling the Bud wagon and his parents are pushing it from behind. Thought it was really sweet.

okay, overall - yes, there was some diamonds in the rough (ie: streaking sheep and michelob ultra commercial) but otherwise....this year is not going down in the books as TV ads to remember. My two cents.

Oh, definitely! Just like the halftime show. Decent, but pedestrian.

aephi alum 02-05-2006 10:59 PM

The ads... not stellar, but still better than last year.

I'm Tivo'ing, so I'm behind, but I just saw the MacGyver ad... very nice. I never really watched MacGyver, but I'm a Stargate SG-1 fan. When we saw the ad, my husband's first comment was, "It's Jack!" :p

I liked the CareerBuilder ads, and the ad with the little Clydesdale "pulling" the Bud wagon.

I do NOT like Diet Pepsi's new campaign. "Brown and bubbly" ? WTF?

KillarneyRose 02-05-2006 11:24 PM

The one with the "crime deterrent" cellphone cracked me up, but my favorite was the one with the baby clydesdale hitching himself up to the Budweiser wagon. So cute :)

About the halftime show: my daughter watched for a few minutes then turned to me and asked, "Who are those old men?"

DeltAlum 02-05-2006 11:30 PM

The "Pre-Historic" Fed-X add was great. And the baby Clydesdale was, as someone said, really sweet.

Definitely the Clydesdales! But my all time favorite is still the one with the Hare Krishnas who turned into cheerleaders. Boy, they were good.

KunjaPrincess 02-05-2006 11:40 PM

The Jackass's one (careerbuilder) and the one of the big horses pushing the Budd cart for the little horse.

I don't think the ads were as good as they have been before but there were some funny and cute ones which were fairly remeberable (how do you spell that anyway? :D )

I totally missed that one. Hopefully it will be played again since so many people are commenting on it...

Jill1228 02-05-2006 11:55 PM

When you watch the Superbowl in Canada, you don't get to see all the cool commericals :(

Shoulda set my TIVO before I left WA State

I liked that one, and the one with the sheep streaker, and the crime deterrent one. The commercials this year were better as a group than they have been.

I agree-- that one was my favorite--- it got the "awww" from around the room!! :)

Oh the BK ad would have been good if the creepy King wouldn't have been on it!

And the half time show we all commented that they were too old to be doing the show--- should have some good music on-- the super bowl was in detroit!

And it was on a Stargate fan site that I found out about the MacGyver commercial. They probably couldn't do it as Gen. Jack because in the grander scheme of things more people know MacGyver than Stargate! Ah well, we still got to see Richard Dean Anderson ;) (on a side note, SG1 has signed for a 10th season making it the longest running sci fi series ever since X-files only did 9 seasons - and the 200th episode is supposed to be GREAT - possibly meeting the Furlings! LOL)

That's my favorite one too.

Oh another one I like was the stadium audience with the signs where they show the beer bottle, glass, then the signs change to pouring beer, then drinking with all the audience saying "ahhhh".

I know. I hate that thing. We all thought that commercial was lame at first, but what was really awesome was that towards the end they referred to him as "the freaky King" in that little song they were singing--everybody at the party I went to just cracked up! So we gave that one the thumbs up!

AGDee 02-06-2006 06:50 AM

I liked the magic refrigerator Bud Light ad.. near the very beginning.

LeslieAGD 02-06-2006 07:12 AM

The Fed-Ex cavemen was the most memorable.

Honorable mentions:
- Streaking sheep (Bud)
- Baby clydesdale (Bud)
- Hospital fly (Ameriquest)
- Rehearsed Dinsey speech (Disney)

ZTAngel 02-06-2006 08:42 AM

I don't think the commercials were great this year but they were better than last year. My favorites:

- The baby clydesdale with the parents pushing the wagon. I thought it was touching.

- The Ameriquest one where the lady fell on the guy during turbelance and it looked like they were performing some porn scene.

- The Bud Light commercial with the revolving refridgerator. I was cracking up.

Good Morning America called this one the best, and looking back, I would probably agree.

They feel that the Clydsedales are overdone, to which I don't agree.

tinydancer 02-06-2006 09:57 AM

Oh, I love the Clydesdales! I don't think they could ever be overdone!

Oh yeah! That was a big favorite at the party I was at. :D The one with the cards was really good too. And the baby Clydesdale. Budweiser did some outstanding work this year.

KSigkid 02-06-2006 10:25 AM

I liked the revolving fridge and the Caree Builder commercials. Of course, any commercial with the King is a winner as well...
